Hidey ho fellow crafters! Kristina H here with a wine themed project for you today.
My project uses two great Karen Burniston die sets. I love how much she packs into each die set that she creates! I am using
Charm Accordion 1007 and
Wine Charms 1073. The actual die cuts one panel that has two windows. I saw Karen Burniston do an awesome tutorial on how to expand it to 4 windows. I just knew I needed to try it out! You can catch her tutorial over on YouTube so I won't go into the details on how to create the basic panel.
I created the accordion panel itself out of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock.
Next I cut the panels out of patterned paper.
Then I cut out the center panels as I won't need them for the project today. I then trimmed a little bit off of all four edges of the patterned papers I used inside. For the front and back piece I only trimmed from the sides. That is because I needed to make sure the paper hinges I used to connect the panels were covered by the patterned paper. I adhered all of the patterned paper in place using Tombow Mono Adhesive liquid glue.
Now I needed to create the pieces that would go on the inside squares. I used the panel die again to cut out just the right size rounded square. I basically used a piece of colored cardstock just big enough to cover the square. No need need to waste a large piece cutting out the entire panel!
I used Wine stamps from Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz to decorate the colored squares. I sponged ink around all four of the colored squares. The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things Uncorked set. I used the liquid glue again to adhere all of the colored squares.
Now it's time to move on to the wine charms! Here are all my pieces cut out.
For the green wine bottle, I sponged around the edges with a light green ink. I cut a tiny piece of copper foil cardstock with the wine bottle die and glued it on with liquid glue. For the white label, I sponged around the edges with pink ink. I added a few details with a very fine line black marker.
The grapes die has little embossing lines for the individual grapes. I just traced over them with the same fine line black marker. The wine glass is cut out of white cardstock. I went around the edges with a light gray ink. The wine portion is cut out of the same pink cardstock I used for one of the panels. To attach the charms you need to cut out the jump rings. This die is included in the Charm Accordion die set. It will cut four out at the same time. I used a silver foil cardstock. You slide on the charms and then slide the jump rings through the holes in the little squares suspended between the larger squares.
To finish the card off I die cut several of the filigree looking dies from the Charm Accordion die set. For the front panel I cut four of them out of green glitter cardstock. On the inside panels I used white, pink, light green and dark green papers that matched the patterned paper. I didn't want to mess with liquid glue for all of the little die cuts so I got out my Xyron sticker maker. I forget that I have it sometimes but it comes in pretty handy! I ran them through the sticker maker, rubbed over the strip with a teflon bone folder and peeled them off. Then it is easy peasy to adhere them wherever you need them!
Here are a few more shots of the open card.
Here is the view from the top.
And here is a look at the front and back panel when the card is closed.
When the card is closed, it measures approximately 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" inches. Wouldn't this be a fun little card to send to someone?
