A Soldier's Tribute

Hello and welcome back to DRU's Inspirational Blog!
America is here to share a Soldier's Tribute card created with some great patriotic dies...

A Soldier's Tribute CARD RECIPE
Make your Die-Cuts in Silver Mirror, Red, White and Bue Cardstocks as shown below;
These die-cuts will then be adhered and layered together for dimension and depth.
Layer bottom dry embossed open-screen panel over blue CS and adhere the multi-layered star panel (this has been backed by red cardstock)

Your card will quickly start to form. Now place the adhered die-cuts over star panel to end-up with a patriotic collage type of a look like I have above!  Layering is so fun, dont you think?

On the Soldier's Tribute, the cardstock colors were slightly offset for interest.

The Statue of Liberty was die-cut in white and again from dbl sided adhesive sheet. This adhesive layer allows for addition of bling (CE Cosmic shimmer Iced Snow glitter was used here). It's very sparkly though not quite noticeable in this photo.

The sentiment is from stash, and placed on Pierced Flags that are layered with foam tape.

Papers: Creative Expressions Silver Mirror Cardstock, Red White and Blue Cardstock
Card collage created with the following precision dies by Frantic Stamper;  Soldier's Tribute, Statue of Liberty, USA Map and Star Card Panel. Also Sue Wilson's Frames and Tags Pierced Flags.

It's Pac Man Time

Colleen from Scrappin Granny here today sharing something from the past.  I am sure you played Pac Man as a child and even my grandkids today play it so this card seemed fitting.

As with all my cards, I searched in my scraps to find the colors I wanted to use and mounted the black onto the red for the base of the card.   I used the Best Glue Ever to adhere everything down.

Next I used the  Lattice Circle Frame by Cheery Lynn to cut out all the yellow circles.

Next I cut out a circle and them cut out a wedge.

Always think of your dies in different ways you can use them.  For this card I used the Build an Owl by Die-Versions.  I cut them out and turned them upside down to use them.

Now that everything is cut out and the eyes have been added you just start gluing them down.

I used a simple sentiment for the bottom and use Greetings die by Karen Burniston for the sentiment.

I finished off the eyes by adding a little dot of white using the Uni-Ball Signo Pen.

Butterflies And Poppies

Donna Phelan back again.

On today's card I will show you how easy it is to add just a wee bit of foiling to your card.  You don't need to have a Toner Printer, or even a laminator, just look for products that incorporate it already.  It's easy........

I started with Foiled Paper! See?  Wasn't that easy?!?!
Our Dies R Us Store makes it even easier by carrying some beautiful Foiled Paper
in beautiful Prints and Designs.
Here's a couple by My Mind's Eye and 2 beauties by Pink Paislee.  SO EASY!!!
The Dies R Us Store also carries many brands of other beautiful Paper Pads.

I also added foiling to my card using my Mini Minc and Foiled Toner Sheets.  I die cut my Memory Box Row of Poppies from Hot Pink Foiled Sheets, which I cropped a bit.  These pretty poppies were then adhered to a layered Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Nesting Rectangles, which were backed with Fun Foam to add dimension.

I used Spellbinders Standard and Scallop Circle dies to stamp my sweet little butterfly on.  Image stamped with Raven Black ink and colored with Copic Markers.
Hidden beneath that is a small Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Banners
with Rhinestone accent.
I layered the Dies R Us Butterfly #2 Set and added another Rhinestone accent,  this particular set is no longer available, although we have many, many beautiful Butterfly Dies to choose from.

Pop Dot.
Fun Foam.
WOS.
Pink Ribbon.

Love the Foiled Accents and all of that dimension!

Here's what I used:

Memory Box - Dies - Row of Poppies

Tutti Designs - Cross Stitch Nesting Rectangles

Tutti Designs - Dies - Nesting Stitched Banners

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

A Pretty Spring Bouquet of Tulips

Good morning!  Kathleen here today with a bouquet of tulips that are all in bloom this time of year in California where I craft!   I love making flowers with Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Notes dies.  Over at DiesRUs they carry a huge collection of these dies including the latest release!

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Dies - Tulip 2

I cut the 2 petal pcs. 6 times out of white cardstock which is enough for 6 tulips. With a pink Copic Marker I flick stroked each petal pc. from the bottom up to resemble how striped tulips look.  I cut the stems and leaves 6 times out of green cardstock and inked the edges with a darker green ink.  I made each tulip and put them in a bud vase with toothpicks to dry and keep safe until I made everything else:

I cut both die pcs. out of white cardstock and colored with a green Coptic Marker leaving white spaces to mimic variegated ivy.

Cut both pcs. either from green cardstock or as I did with white cardstock and colored them with a Copic Marker to get the color I needed to work with the other green papers I chose (mats).

I cut only the "cup" pc. and stamped with a tiny little flower stamp I have and colored the top and bottom rings on the cup with a pink Copic Marker.

Using the largest die from  ECD 1173 Dotted Scallop Ovals  cut with white cardstock.

Using the second largest die from:  ECD - 1113 Stitched Ovals cut with pink cardstock.

To assemble the card score an 8.5 x 11" piece of white cardstock at 5.5",  fold for a "book fold card" and trim to 5.5 X7".  Cut a rectangle from designer paper that measures 5.25 x 6.75" and adhere to the front of the white base card.

Adhere the pink oval to the white oval.  Then adhere the cup by first putting two foam dots (leave protective back on the dots). to the back of the cup as pictured below and then adding glue to the bottom edge only of the cup. Adhere the cup to the pink oval 1/2" from the bottom. Leave the sides and dots unglued right now.

Now start putting your bouquet together through the cup opening until you like what you see. Now start gluing your bouquet stems in place.  Next remove the backing from the foam dots and add glue to the rest of the cup edges.  Adhere the cup now by first pressing the cup over the foam dots.  Then while carefully pushing the sides in a little to accommodate the dots hold the glued sides down.

Next add the ivy to the outside of the cup and a sentiment of your choice.  I like to have several cards like this kind that could be used for almost any occasion.  I then add the sentiment that fits when I'm going to use it.  This time I chose "Hugs" from this set: ECD 1269 - Love Sentiments
