It's all about the laughter

Colleen from Scrappin Granny sharing a layout page using some wonderful dies.

I started with the Antique Car Border die by Amy Design.  I didn't want the whole die just the car, so I cut out as small of the border as I could and then hand trimmed to just get the car.

Next after cutting the car out I backed it with silver cardstock.

I then used the Striped Swirl Edger by Sue Wilson and cut that out three times so I could make a border at the top of the page.

I wanted a little bit more along the edge of the photo so I used another portion of the Striped Swirl Edger by Sue Wilson on black cardstock and put that along the edges near the photo.

Finally, I used Bannertastic die by Lawn Fawn for creating the date and location of the photo.

Thank You

Donna Phelan back again.
Today I am sharing a Masculine Thank You Card.
Super easy to create with the help of some amazing products from the Dies R Us Store.

Other than the card base I used all different colors of Glitter Paper to jazz this up a bit.
I used the Memory Box Birch Trio to create my wintry forest.  There are so many Birch Trees to choose from, the hard part will be deciding which one to pick.
Here are your options:  Birch Trees.

My absolute favorite bird is the Red Cardinal, here I have used the Impression Obsession Birds die.  It is a 2 pack die set and you can easily make them Black or Blue Birds just by changing your Designer Papers.   My little picket fence is Amy Designs Picket Fence, it's just perfect to enclose my woodland forest.

I decided to add a little sentiment and thought it would be perfect nestled in the Sue Wilson's Rustic Twig Wreath.  Once I die cut the wreath in Brown Glitter Card Stock I cut it a 2nd time from White Card stock and placed that in the center, which allowed me to stamp my sentiment.  Perfect!  A few dotty stamps all around to add an air of whimsy.

Inks in Raven Black and Dove Grey.

Here's what I used:

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy~~

Thanks

Hi my Dies R Us friends,

I admit it!  I have been caught up in the foiling craze.  It's Sandy Diller here today with a shinny card, my apologies for the glare on the photos but there really is no way to avoid the glare when using foils.  I have a link at the bottom of the page to a video from Jennifer McGuire who explains this process in detail, so take a look at that if you are interested.  Of course you do not need to foil in order to make this card, it will be beautiful with pretty cardstock as well.

So let's get started:

This card is a 6" square card with a top fold.  Cut your cardstock 6" X 12" and score in the center.

Using the Stitched Squares, cut one panel using the largest die in the set, shown in printed paper here.

Using the Dotted Scallop Squares, cut one panel using the second largest square, shown in white.

Using the Butterfly Aperture die, cut one detailed butterfly from *Toner Paper if you are foiling.
Cut one more butterfly using only the solid section.  Later in this tutorial you will see that the original solid butterfly was replaced with one cut from the same patterned paper as the first square.

*Toner paper is a special paper that can be purchased on line or at your local craft store or you can make your own if you have a laser printer. This will not work with inkjet printers.

Using the Thanks die, cut one using the same Toner Paper or cardstock if you prefer.

Place the butterfly on the carrier sheet, I used the Minc Machine here.  Place foils as desired.  For this butterfly, two colors of foil were used, pink on the outer wings and blue on the inside.  They can be used at the same time and run through the machine all at once.

Add foil to the word Thanks and run through machine with butterfly.

Following machine directions - run through the machine.

After layering the panels on the card, add glue to the body of the foiled butterfly only and add to the solid butterfly.  This leaves the wings free to add demention and shadows.

Add glue to body only of solid butterfly and add to card making sure that the wings stay within the measurements of the card.

Add the word Thanks to bottom and add a little bling to the body of the butterfly and you are done.

Hope you have been inspired!

Puddle Play

Vickie Y sharing a fun puddle play card with you today.

This card is a very easy card to put together using two sets of dies (listed below).

The cardbase was layered using a marbled designer paper panel.  The soft blue cardstock was die cut and placed over the marbled panel.  The shorebirds were die cut and placed playfully around the puddles!

Here's a puddle close-up:

These are the dies used from the DRU online store:

Lots of fun layers, prints and colours on this card too.. This one has a border and many matted layers.
