Walking through the Gates of Heaven ...

Welcome Back Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene here today to share a card of inspiration.
I hope you'll stop back each day Monday through Friday for new and beautiful inspiration from each of the design team members.  These ladies share some fabulous ideas on using die cuts.  You won't want to miss any of their tips and tricks.

Today I have a simple but beautiful sympathy card to share.
The dies I have used today are:

My background panel was created by simply sponging the top portion of my white card stock panel with Tim Holtz blue distress ink and the lower portion with Memento 'Bamboo Leaves' green ink.
The Guilded Gate was die cut from gold metallic paper.
The paper I used was heavy enough that I could pop out the portions I wanted open and could leave the other pieces in tact for a more solid look (the end pillars/top).
I love that the 'gate doors' actually open on this die cut ...

Please be sure to pop over to the Dies R Us store to see all the amazing dies available.  Why not make it your One-Stop Shopping Headquarters for die cuts.
The shipping rates are very reasonable and there are SO MANY wonderful companies represented, I'm sure you'll find exactly what you've been looking for!!!

And don't forget about our Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
For each challenge, three entry designs are chosen by our talented design teams at the TOP 3 Winners and then ONE LUCKY WINNER (this could be you!!!)
chosen by Inlinkz wins a gift voucher to our Dies R Us Store!
COME ON! ... what are you waiting for?  Come join in the fun!!

Well that's it for me today!
Please stop back tomorrow to see what Sherri has to share!
You're going to love it ...

Ivy Vine Wreath

Welcome Thursday and Dies R Us Friends!!
Diane with you today to hopefully inspire "YOU"
to get creative with the dies!!

I LOVE the Creative Expressions Sue Wilson dies
and after "seeing" Sue Wilson "herself" use this die
to make a wreath, I knew I wanted to make one as well!

To start, I first used two of the circle dies from
to cut a "frame" of sorts to build my wreath on.
I can't draw a free hand circle,
so this was a very handy way to form my wreath.
By laying one circle die inside the other, I had an "open"
frame to work with, allowing the paper to show underneath!

I cut 3 of the Creative Expressions ivy vines from the
I cut them apart in about 4 pieces each,
then sponging  shabby shutters distress ink on.
I arranged them on the frame, slightly gluing here and there
to allow the leaves to pop up!

The card seemed a bit plain, so I opted to add a few of
the ivy corners, pearls and a butterfly
cut from Joy! Crafts butterfly die.

Thank you for visiting with me today.....
take a peek at the Dies R Us store.
It is amazing how many different dies are in stock!

Don't forget we have a weekly challenge with a fabulous prize.
Come back and visit weekly to see all the beautiful designs the other
Dies R Us girls have to show you!!

Welcome Baby!

Hello, everyone!

Are you ready for another dose of inspiration?  Today's post was a fun one for me as I love doing baby cards and this one was especially fun and easy!   You will need two dies for it:  Die-namites Baby Clothesline and Spellbinders Heirloom Rectangle.   When it comes to baby cards, I always love to add a lot of lace and this Spellbinders die is perfect!

You can do so many versions of this card!  Change the colors to pink for a girl, go with all white, alternate the clothes hanging on the line with pinks, blues, yellows, greens, lavenders.....just use your imagination!

I had the perfect stamp for the sentiment in a set from Papertrey Ink which I've had a long time.

Are you thinking about all the baby cards you will be needing now?  Head on over to the Dies R Us Store! You can't believe the amazing amount of goodies you will find there!  Or how low the prices & shipping are!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the week for more inspiration & then head over to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog to join in on the fun!  We have a new challenge on the first and fifteenth of every month & you could be the big winner of a gift certificate!

Happy crafting until next week when I will see you again!

Sassy Mum to Be

Greetings Dies R Us friends!

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is just bursting with joy, love
& a little bit of sparkle with all of the die cuts.

Dies used include:
Memory Box Curly Q Border

I tried to keep it CAS with the focus on the beautiful Sassy Studio Designs image which was framed with the Spellbinders Modern Stationary. I wanted to add just a touch of features so used the Memory Box Cross Stitch My Heart to frame the simple sentiment. I added the Magnolia Doohickey Twisted Swirl and Memory Box Curly Q Border which were cut from glitter cardstock to match the hues of the velum paper. To highlight the colour of the maxi skirt I used Memory Box Banner Parade in the corner.

There is still time to play along over at the Challenge Blog. Challenge #22 will be running through until on March 28. The theme is 'Shades of GREEN' so come & join in the creative fun! There is a great variety of awesome DT creations from the talented Team B. To be in the running for the $10 voucher at the Dies R Us store simply use a die in your challenge entry.

Spring Lambs

Welcome Spring!!
Diane here with you today.
Are you as ready for Spring as I am??

I went with a cute "Spring Scene" for my card today!

I couldn't resist this adorable die set from
Frantic Stamper " Easter Icons".
It's the cutest set that comes with the lamb and tulip I used,
plus a carrot, bunny and basket!!

I cut 3 little lambs and added a tiny bit of black and pink card stock
behind the eyes and  mouth!

Every little lamb needs some grass to munch on,
which I cut six times!

I tucked six little red tulips in among the grass....
I sure hope these little guys don't munch these up!!!

Behind the grass,
we wouldn't want those little lambs to escape, now would we?

A few fluffy clouds were added using Memory Box Cloud Bank.

Take a few minutes and pop on over to the Dies R Us store.

There are so many dies there to choose from, all at fabulous prices!!

Don't forget we have a Dies R Us challenge blog,
where you could win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store!!

Make sure to stop back tomorrow
to see more wonderful inspiration!!

Wishing you a wonderful beginning......

Hello, again friends!

It's Wednesday again & my turn to give you some inspiration!  With warmer weather on the way (at LONG last!) it won't be long before you will be getting invitations to those spring and summer weddings!  I have a really elegant card to share today & one that is SO simple to make! You only need two dies for it too! I used Spellbinders Labels Ten and Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves.    You might want to check out the Dies R Us store for all the other awesome dies you could use too!

I wanted to create a "frame" around my sentiment by using the two smallest dies of the Labels Ten set.  This is really simple to do, but let me give you a little tip when cutting a frame that will save you a lot of headache!  Cut two pieces of your cardstock the size you need.  Also cut a piece of waxed paper the same size and tape that to the top of  one piece, lining up the edges for a perfect fit.  Lay your smallest die in the center of the paper & run it through your die machine.  Once you remove it from the machine, take that piece of waxed paper which now has the center cut out and place that on your second piece of paper, being sure to line it up again.  This will show you exactly where the small die cut is on that piece you cut!  Now, take your larger die and center that over the cut in the waxed paper & tape it down before running it through your machine.  The result is BOTH of your beautiful cuts will be perfectly lined up once you glue them together! Trust me when I tell you that just trying to "eyeball" where the second die should go will never work!

With the two pieces that you get from cutting the frame, I added my inside sentiment (from an old Stampin Up set) to the smallest piece, layered it to the larger piece and added another leaf.

Hopefully, this has made you want to try this technique for yourself!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the awesome inspiration that our great team has given you and be sure you also check out the Dies R Us Challenge blog for a chance to win a gift certificate!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!  Happy crafting!

I Love You, and Coffee!

Hi everybody!!
Mikha is here again, and I'm gonna show you something new for Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

The picture might not be much.
And yes, I tried to make CAS! :)

I'm using:
Spellbinders - Nestabilities - Resplendent Rectangle

Few weeks earlier, I saw this beautiful dies called Die-Namics - Dies -Coffee Cup in the store. Since I'm a big fan of coffee, I quickly put it on my shopping chart without a second thought, LOL.

I just framed Spellbinders - Nestabilities - Resplendent Rectangle, stamped and emboss "I love you and COFFEE" and also arranged the coffee cup dies near it!

Added a little bit blinks and sparkle as finishing touch. I kept them minimum since, yes, I tried a CAS, hehe...

I hope you enjoy this and get inspired; and also grab this dies at the STORE, lol.

Don't forget to join our latest challenge, "Shade of Green", to have a chance of winning gift voucher to our store :)

Until next week ;)

You're on my Mind

Greetings Dies R Us friends!

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is a side step fold card,
where I tried creating a little scene with the picket fence and flower strip.

Dies used include:

This was my first attempt at the side step card, and was surprisingly simple (especially if you have a scoring board). I coloured up 'Bunny' by Jade Dragonne with Copics and framed her with Docrafts Xcut Nesting Oval and Docrafts Xcut Nesting Scalloped Oval.

For my little scene I attached Impression Obsessions Floral Heart Strip and Cheery Lyn Designs Victorian Picket Fence to both of the side steps (I had to slightly fold the picket fence so that it would angle in the right direction) before finishing it off with the Magnolia Doohickey Leaf & Swirl and a single Memory Box Cherry Blossom.

There is a brand new challenge starting on Sunday over at the Challenge Blog. Challenge #22 is a 'Shades of GREEN' challenge. Be sure to check it out next week as there are some exceptional DT creations from the talented Team B. To be in the running for the $10 voucher at the Dies R Us store simply use a die in your challenge entry and 'Shades of GREEN'.

I hope you've had a chance to check out the other amazing creations from all of the other members of the Dies R Us Design Team. Please come back next week for more wonderful inspiration from all of us again and until next week, happy crafting!

Happiness

Hello Friends!!
Diane here with you today on the Dies R Us blog.
I think I am in the "can't wait for Spring" mode,
as I have been creating lots of flowers lately using
dies from the wonderful selection in the Dies R Us store!

Today I created my flowers using a very favorite flower die
This is such an easy flower to create,
but looks like you spent hours on it!

I added a leaf cluster to each flower using the leaf die included with

The delicate, lace background die is
I love how dainty and pretty this die is.
I know you have seen lots of hearts lately,
but I use them year round.

With Deepest Sympathy!

Hi, friends!

It's Wednesday again & time for my contribution to the wonderful ideas you have already gotten from Mikha and Darlene this week.   I thought I would share some of the cards that none of us enjoy making...sympathy cards!  Making a special card for a sad event is never easy but it always means a lot to the recipient to know you cared enough to send a handmade card.

I am sharing two cards today that were made from one of our beautiful embossing folder sets "Sizzix Butterfly Lattice Set" which includes two gorgeous embossing folders.  Both of them will be folders you use again & again.  For the first card, I used the folder that looks like lattice and combined it with Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig and the smallest die from the Spellbinders Reflective Moment set.

After embossing the white cardstock, I cut an oval from the center & positioned it over my blue mat before adding my beautiful honey blossom sprig to the center.

On this card, I used the beautiful butterfly embossing folder from the set & sponged a tiny bit of pink to the center before adding my butterflies which I cut from Cherry Lynn Exotic Butterfly Small #2.

These 2 embossing folders can be interchanged with so many different dies that you are only limited by your own imagination!

Be sure you come back the rest of the week to check out the remainder of our design teams inspiration.
And don't forget to drop by the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for a chance to win a gift certificate!!

Until next week, have a fantastic week & put those creative juices to working!!

Support our Troops!

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene here and today I have a set of cards to share with you with thoughts of our sons & daughters that are fighting in the war overseas in hopes of keeping our freedom here in the states and making the world a better place to live in.  God Bless each and every one of them!!!

I began with the Cheery Lynn Designs 'ARMY' #B513 die set (5 pieces) and went from there.

My background 'desert camo' paper was printed from an image I found online and, I created my own 'camo' paper to die cut the Army images from using green and brown inks sponged onto a scrap piece of white card stock.

Other dies used are:
(Thinking of You)

One thing we must remember when making cards to send to our troops is that there is NO glitter or anything shiny used on them.  These types of elements can be detected by the enemy and could cost them their lives.  So, by using the die cuts, I've been able to make them a little more personal without any elements that could bring harm to them.

OH and I have one more card to share in which I used the same die set but a different camo pattern (also found online) for the background ...

There are other branches of the military available in die sets ... please be sure to check them out at our Dies R Us Store and get busy creating to help keep the spirits of our troops up while they are away from home.  Also available in the store are dies for the Police and Fire Fighters.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Don't forget to come join us at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
You would be the winner of a Dies R Us store gift voucher!
Our current challenge theme is: MONOCHROMATIC
You still have a few days to join in the fun!!!
Till next time and as always . . .

Under the Weather?

Greetings Dies R Us friends!

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is spring inspired
(even though it's only the beginning of Autumn here in Australia!)

Dies used include:

CC Designs Rainy Day Birgitta

After colouring this CC Designs 'Rainy Day Birgitta' with Distress Markers, I've framed her with the Docrafts Xcut Nesting Oval and the  Docrafts Xcut Nesting Scalloped Ovals. Because of the busy designer background paper I've only embellished simply with the Memory Box Precious Cloud and made some nesting flowers with Magnolia Doohickeys Hellebores and Magnolia Doohickeys Doily Flowers. My sentiments was framed with Docrafts Xcut Tags & Bookplates.

CC Designs Rainy Day Birgitta

These flower dies have so many options of using them,
stacked together like I did,
or they make a statement just on their own!!

The greenery on the flowers are Die-Versions Leaves and Vines

A Celebration of Love!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I'm so happy to be back with you all as we start another fantastic year together!  Today I want to share two different versions of an anniversary card to show you how changing just one background die can change the entire look and feel of a card.  I began both cards with three basic dies which are fairly new & absolutely perfect for anniversary cards:  Impression Obsession Bench, Impression Obsession Couple Sitting & Impression Obsession Love Doves.  The Love Doves would also work for wedding cards and Valentines too!

For my first card, I used a background die from Spellbinders called Floral Affair.  I have to confess, I bought it as a birthday gift for my BFF and loved it so much I had to order another one for ME!  Sometimes you don't get the full beauty of a die until you actually see it cut!

I'm guessing a lot of you are already headed to the store to order this die!  Right?  Lol !!

The next card I made with the 3 basic anniversary dies has a totally different look.  By changing the background die to Spellbinders Heirloom Rectangle, I got another gorgeous card that is completely different than the one above.  I also used the Spellbinders Heirloom Rectangle to decorate the inside of the card as I will show you next!

That is the beauty of using dies on your cards and projects!  By changing just one die, you can create an entirely different look & the possibilities are absolutely endless!

I hope I have inspired you to create something today!  Be sure to check out the wonderful ideas our team shares each day!  And don't forget to join our current Dies R Us Challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to the fabulous store!

Happy creating!  See you next week!!

Happy Birthday Dies R Us . . .

Darlene here with you today!  That's right ... it was a year ago (March 1st) that we began sharing inspiration samples for you here at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  Each day Monday through Friday the ladies of this wonderful team have shared a new & exciting creation to help spark your mojo in creating with die cuts.

So, to celebrate the occasion, I've created this special card!
INSIDE
Birthday cards are supposed to be bright and cheerful so I decided to create my own colorful background panel to use for my die cutting selections and place them on an all white card to really make them POP!
The dies I've used today are:
Creative Expressions Sue Wilson - Spanish Background #CED1201
Memory Box - Madera Corner #98237
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Balloons #726

Here is a side view so you can see that I popped up the center pieces of the balloons as well as the Sue Wilson background panel.   Just that little bit of added dimension can really add character to your cards!
Reminder ... when you are shopping at our Dies R Us store and find that the dies you are looking for are Out of Stock ... simply click on the 'Put Me On The Waiting List' tab ... fill in the information and you will be notified via email as soon as it's back in stock.  It has been my experience that this typically doesn't take much time at all!
Well it's time for me to go get a piece of that Birthday Cake! LOL!
Please be sure to stop back tomorrow when Sherri has a fabulous card to share!!!
OH and don't forget to join in our new challenge over at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog ... this time around the theme is MONOCHROMATIC (and die cuts of course).

I'll see you again next Tuesday ...
