Baby Balloon Boy

Greetings Dies R Us friends!

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is once again requested by my husband whose good friend became a father! I'd been waiting for the news to but was not organised early with an already made card so only had an hour to throw something together as he wanted to go & visit! So this is what I put together for the new little cherub.

Dies used include:
Poppystamps Simple Banner.

Due to the short time frame I was given I used a simple imaged from Bugaboo Stamps called 'Birthday Baby Balloon' and coloured it with Copics to match my designer papers. I used the Taylored Expressions Label Stacklets 1 to cut and frame the image before layering it over the designer papers.

I die cut the Lala Land Folding Banner before I stamped the sentiment on it and added it to the bottom of the card, along with a couple of buttons with twine. It was still missing something so I added the Poppystamps Simple Banner in the corner for a bit of embellishment. I then finished the card off with a bit of embossing glitter and some cute little twine bows.

I hope you've had a chance to check out the other amazing creations from all of the other members of the Dies R Us Design Team. Please come back next week for more wonderful inspiration from all of us again and until next week, happy crafting!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day everyone! Robin here with my design of the week for Dies R Us! It's Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, so I am wishing all of you a "Thankful" day with family and friends!

Although I do try to make cards that go together quickly, this is not one of them! I make a few intricate cards for "special" family and friends; you know, the ones who appreciate your work and won't toss them out with the spent ribbon after the holidays, LOL. This beautiful snowflake is from Impression Obsession Large Snowflake die set. This die set actually has 4 cutouts for you to put together anyway you like.
I cut the snowflakes from white card stock; then using the negative space created I adhered the white card to a red card base. Then came the tedious part, since the snowflake on the far right in the picture above is so intricate, I couldn't use my go to spray adhesive. So I carefully put small dots of glue on half the snowflake, added it to my card and then glued the other half down; it actually wasn't that bad. Would I want to make 48, no, but I am making 12! Then I added the small "flake" to the center and ta da it was done. A note to all, stamp your sentiment FIRST before you put all the work into your card, JUST IN CASE.
The card was finished with rhinestones! I only have 11 more to make…no sweat!

Have a wonderful day and if the dishes are done, leftovers put up and you have your feet up stop by Dies R Us and shop, shop, shop!

Until next week, "Thanks" for stopping by today, Robin

How "Tweet"......

Hello, friends!

I bet a lot of you are busy baking & getting ready for tomorrow's big Thanksgiving dinner aren't you?  And knowing that tomorrow is Thanksgiving, you are now in panic mode wondering how you are going to get everything done before Christmas arrives!  If you have been checking our Dies R Us Inspiration Blog each day, we have been giving you a lot of great ideas.   And I'm going to do my best today to give you a few more!  Today I'm using the following dies:  Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Two, Impression Obsession Fir Trees & Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco B.  These are some of my favorite dies!  I know I say that a lot, don't I? But it's true!  The scalloped borders set contains SEVEN beautiful dies to give you endless edge combinations and the lace corner set has THREE different dies, each with a different look.

You can use any digi or stamp you like in the center oval, or if time is a problem, just stamp a beautiful "Merry Christmas" in the oval instead!  I used a cute digi from Dearie Dolls for mine & added the smallest of the darling Fir Trees from the Impression Obsession Fir Trees set.

I hope you have some ideas of your own now.  Check out the Dies R Us Challenge too!  It's a great way to have a lot of fun & win a gift voucher to the store! And while you are at it, be sure you head over to the Dies R Us Facebook page & enter the contest there to celebrate our 1,000 likes! It's really easy & you could win a gift voucher there too! Find all the details here!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!  And count all the blessings you have!

Until next week, happy crafting!

A Snowman Get Well

Welcome Back Dies R Us Fans!
Darlene here with a wintertime Get Well card for you using a POSITIVE cut and a NEGATIVE cut with my dies today.

How adorable is this Sweet Dixie Snowman.  By simply die cutting him out of white card stock and adhering him to a piece of black card stock, I simply used my holiday colored Stickles to 'fill in the blanks'.  So festive and cute!

For my sentiment, I decided not to waste the negative portion of the black card stock panel I had used to cut the words out for a different card creation so by making sure I kept the little pieces that came out of the original cut of this Elizabeth Craft Get Well Soon die (pieces from the 'e and o') I was able to create this sentiment panel.

Of course the one I used here on my card, was done a few days back so I QUICKLY [5 minutes or so] did another one so I could do a little photo tutorial for you.  You can use this technique with so many of your die cuts!  Give it a try!  This is also a great way to use up some of those scraps you have laying around!!

STEP 1:  Die cut your words using a scrap piece of card stock.

STEP 2:  Cut your die cut panel to the desired size.

STEP 3:  Mat your original cut panel onto a contrasting color piece of card stock.

STEP 4:  Remove your words from the die CAREFULLY saving the little pieces that are in the letters (in this case) E and O.

STEP 5:  With a tiny dab of white glue, adhere the letter centers into your negative panel ... hence creating a SECOND sentiment panel from ONE die cut!!  YAY!!

I hope you've found a bit of inspiration in my card today and if you've never used this technique ... give it a try and come share it with us!!  We'd love to see it!

Be sure to pop over to our Dies R Us Store and check out all the amazing dies available 'under one roof' by so many wonderful companies!  Our shipping rates are VERY affordable ... we have a fabulous newsletter that you'll want to sign up for so you don't miss out on any of our FLASH SALES and of course you'll want to come play in our fun challenges HERE!  New challenge on the 1st and 15th of each month with one lucky winner receiving a gift voucher for the store!

Swan-hearts

Greetings to all of the Dies R Us fans!

This week's inspirational card is for a beautiful couple who've finally got engaged
(after 13 years together!)

Dies used include:
Spellbinders Grand Label One
Spellbinders Label One

I created the 'moon background' paper by cutting out a Docrafts Xcut Nesting Circles and attached it to white cardstock with re-positional tape before blending with numerous Distress Inks. Once I'd created a level of colour I was happy with I spritzed it with water and Smooch prior to cutting with Spellbinders Label One and layering on a folded card cut wtih the Spellbinders Grand Label One.

I coloured the moon in with some acrylic pearl paint and this beautiful Imagine That 'Love Swans' stamp with Copics. I used some beautiful shimmer paper to cut the Memory Box Heart Flourish to add to the top, and used a couple of the inner heart off-cuts to add some interest to the bottom right corner of the card. I finished it off with some ribbon which I stamped with a simple 'Engaged' sentiment and framed it with some metal tags.

Here is a photo showing the moon background paper I created with all of the shimmer & sparkle of the paint, sprits & shimmer paper.

"Tag" it's almost Christmas!

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my design of the week for Dies R Us! This online store is the "Best" place to shop for all your die needs or wants!
For this "Tag" card I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a Snowflake embossing folder from Taylored Expressions. I then cut two tags using Taylored Expressions Tag Stacklets 1, the red tag I embossed on the diagonal with a stripe embossing folder and sponged the edges with white ink.  The white tag was stamped with my sentiment and layered onto the red tag with foam pop ups.
I cut my snowflakes using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes die set, layered them together as shown and then added to my tag with foam pop ups. I added a cute bakers twine bow and a few small gem stones to finish the card.

As always, if Dies R Us is out of stock on a die, add your name to the out of stock form and you will be notified as soon as it is back in stock!

Until next week, thanks for stopping by, Robin

Dear Santa..

Hi again, everyone!

Well, Wednesday has rolled around again and it's my turn to see what fun things I can tempt you with!  Whenever I go to the Dies R Us Store & start window shopping, I find the most amazing things!  Today's card was made with one of those finds!  We all love dies & embossing folders, that just goes without saying. Well, Sizzix has combined some amazing embossing folders WITH matching dies!  The set I used for today's card contains 2 beautiful embossing folders and 4 matching dies.  Life just doesn't get any better!  The set is Sizzix Ornament Set #2 and this is just one of the beautiful cards you can create with it.

Once I embossed the front of this card, I added the cute Mo Manning mouse sleeping in his tea cup to the center.   I also embossed the beautiful sprigs and used the matching die to cut it out & popped it up with some pop dots. The Happy Holidays sentiment is also part of the embossing you get & it too has a matching die to cut it out.

This is a shot of the inside of the card.  The embossing is just gorgeous isn't it?

This is a close up of the sprigs and the sentiment.

And here is a shot of the 2 folders and the 4 dies you get in this set!  There is no end to the amazing cards you can make with this set!  Why not use it to join the Christmas Challenge going on right now at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog?

Are you as crazy busy as I am?  Yikes and to think Christmas is less than 6 weeks away! OMG!!

Today's creation utilizes three dies, 1 holiday design paper, 1 stamp and a touch of Sparkle!!

The background paper on this card creation is actually closer to the color in the last picture in this post (light grey with white snowflakes) ... don't ask me why my camera insists on changing the colors of my cards from time to time.  Actually the sepia tones would have been nice too!  Hmmmm!   LOL!

A Parisian Birthday

Greetings Dies R Us friends and fans!

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is for my very special mother-in-law who is second only to my own mother, the most wonderful and cherished woman I know! I'm so very blessed (& my family) to have such a special lady we call Oma!

Dies used include:

I used this sassy lady from Fitztown 'Cameo 14', and coloured her with Copics before distressing the edges and embossing with Antique Rose & Teal embossing powders. I framed her with Taylored Expressions Label Stacklet 1 and layered her on some coordinating cardstock. Here she is in all of her stunning glory!

Did you know that Dies R Us now have their own range of dies too?! I used this Dies R Us 'Butterflies' and double cut them to layer them together. They also have Cats, Dogs and Dolphins in their range, so hop over to the store to check them out.

I finished my card with a ruffled ribbon and some rhinestones for a bit of glitz and glamour!

Autumn Trees

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my design of the week for Dies R Us!  I am constantly amazed by how many companies Dies R Us carries.

My card was actually inspired by the background paper! I was trying to sort out my stash of paper, good luck there, when I came across this tree paper. I knew the perfect die to go with the paper! Using a similar paper to my background paper, I cut my tree with Memory Box Alessandria Tree and Alessandria Tree Background. I then glued the two parts of the tree together using spray adhesive. After distressing the edges of my background paper I sponged the edges with Shabby Shutters and adhered to my top fold card base. I stamped my sentiment and made my own banner; added a couple of brads and added to my card with foam pop ups.

The tree was added using foam pop ups and the trunk was glued to the banner!

Be sure to check out our Challenge Blog, we will have a new challenge starting in a couple of days! Just up load a card to the gallery and you just might win a gift certificate to Dies R Us!

Until next week, thanks for stopping by, Robin

Quiet Night!

Hello, dear friends!

Wednesday has rolled around again & it's now my turn to share with you again.  Today I have another Christmas card.  Like most of you, I have been busy working on them for several weeks now.  Although I dearly love coloring, I have to admit that making cards with nothing but dies is also fun & very addicting!  And so much faster!!   For today's card, I used these dies:  Impression Obsession Evergreen Trees, Memory Box Birch Tree Trio, Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas Sentiments, & Impression Obsession Small Deer.

I chose some beautiful aqua glitter paper for the background.  I wanted the beautiful birch trees to reflect against the starry feel of the glitter paper.  By cutting some "hills" in my white cardstock, I was able to give the effect of snow for these beautiful deer.  It's amazing to me how you can create a beautiful scene just by dies alone!  It's time to go through your dies, friends & see what you already have that might create a scene of your own.  And also to check to see what dies you want to add to your own collection!

Don't forget to check out our Dies R Us Challenge Blog too, everyone!  You still have a couple of days before the next challenge begins on the 15th!

I know you will be back tomorrow to see what Robin has for you.  I've already peeked, and you won't want to miss it!!

Catch you again next Wednesday!  Until then, happy crafting!

Hello Dies R Us friends!
It's Tuesday and that means it is time once again for me, Darlene, to share with you, a card I have made to hopefully inspire you using dies from our Dies R Us store.
Today my card utilizes the traditional Christmas colors of Red, White & Green as well as a very simple, yet elegant design.  We all love that little touch of sparkle, so I thought a dab of Stickles and Diamond Dust was in order to help highlight these gorgeous dies.

This is a Hug!

Greetings Dies R Us Friends! Happy Friday.

This week's inspirational DT card for Dies R Us is another request by my caring Husband for his mentor who is battling serious health issues. He wanted something simple for a male without  a lot of pomp & fluff. So this is what I put together for him. I think the image and sentiment really says everything that my Husband wants to say.

Dies used include:

I used a sweet image from Stamp Art Design called 'Little Bear this is a Hug' and coloured it with Copics. I framed it with the Spellbinders Modern Stationary die and stitched around it. Here is a closer look at the image.

I offset this image with the Doohickey Swirl to add some focus to other parts of the card. I added some twine & rhinestones to finish off my card. Here is a close up of the  Doohickey Swirl die.

A new challenge is underway over at the Challenge Blog. Challenge #13 is a 'Thankful' challenge. So think about Thanksgiving, Thankful, Give Thanks, Thank You. Be sure to check it out as there is some exceptional DT creations from the talented Team A. To be in the running for the $10 voucher at the Dies R Us store simply use a die in your challenge entry.

Please come back next week for more wonderful inspiration from all of the very talented ladies on the  Dies R Us team. Until next week, happy crafting!

Happy Fall

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my design of the week for Dies R Us! The Fall colors are everywhere, well maybe not for SoCal, our Fall colors are in the stores in the form of pumpkins, gourds, tablecloths, clothing etc. Our foliage stays pretty much the same except for a few trees and we usually plant color spots for the season; no frost here!

My Fall card started with layering the Poppystamp Scrolling Background onto a distressed orange paper; then adhering to a cream card base.  I stamped the Fall sentiment, from Impression Obsession, using Potters Clay ink onto a cream background. The sentiment was cut out using Spellbinders Small Deckled Rectangles. the edges were sponged and the sentiment was added to the card with foam pop ups.

I couldn't find the "right" ribbon or twine for my card so I decided to use a strip from a piece of patterned (small text) paper; worked perfectly!  I added a few Memory Box Grape Vine sprigs cut from a mottled green paper (I love the detail in the leaves) and added to my card. The card was finished with a cute wooden heart and a simple twine bow.
As always, if Dies R Us is out of stock on a die, add your name to the out of stock form and you will be notified as soon as it is back in stock! Twice a month DRU has a challenge for you to possibly win a gift certificate; it's easy just make a card with the specified theme and post on our gallery. So check out the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!

Until next week, thanks for stopping by, Robin
