And a New Year Begins ...

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene with you today sharing my final Christmas card made for the 2017 holiday season.
I can't believe we are on the doorstep of another new year!
Where does the time go???

Anyways ... back to my card created using various dies from the Dies R Us Store!

I must admit I was scrambling around at the last minute (a week before Christmas), trying to create a few more cards to send to family & friends.  I must have miscounted because I actually came up SEVEN short!  YIKES!!

How lucky am I to have these fabulous dies from the Dies R Us Store that helped me create QUICK yet adorable cards to get mailed just in the nick of time!!   (And a great way to use up scraps too.)

The dies I have used today are:

Impression Obsession - Dies - Carolers

Impression Obsession - Dies - Fir Trees

and Technique Tuesday 'Nesting Stars'
(not currently in the store but if you SEARCH on the word STAR you will find a wonderful variety of stars available for your crafting needs.)

TIP:  Anytime you are doing an outside winter 'scene', it's always fun to create mounds of snow by simply tearing scraps of white card stock and layering them.  (ssshhh!  Don't tell anyone ... but my embossed snow panel was a little 'short' so I simply moved the tree up a bit and added a couple layers of torn snow!  PERFECT!!)

Of course I couldn't add just any star to the top of my tree ... it had to SPARKLE!!
And, did you notice the sparkle of the blue glitter paper background?
Well here's another TIP for you . . .
When using foil or glitter paper as a MAT ... you don't want to waste all that beautiful paper that is hidden behind your focus panel ... so before layering, use a rectangle die cut (for instance the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles) using the largest you can and still have the edge you desire for your current matting project, die cut a panel from the center of your special paper.  Now you have another gorgeous panel to use on a future creation.

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!  And, don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.

Friends card created using lots of tutti dies by Bev Code

Hi ... Bev here today. How are you today. This DT project for Dies R Us showcases a Friends card made using lots of die cuts... some single cuts and some are even fussy cut to form smaller versions of the die.

Supply List:
Machine/ tools: Big Shot Express,
Markers: Copics
Digital Image: A Day for Daisies Bachelor Buttons in a Mason Jar
Other: Beacon glue, cardstock, lace, paper

This card started with  lots of fun layers of paper that mix and match. I copic coloured the image and double matted it. I then cut lots of tutti dies .. some are in there full size while others are then fussy cut to add accents to the card.

Closer view of the digi image copic coloured.

Prep work of the papers and the die cuts.

Full cut dies to the left side and the sentiment.

These are the 2 fussy cut dies that were sized down from a bigger original die. Also I added some floral lace as an accent.

Close up of the smaller trimmed die accents.

Take the Moment

Hello to you all
Doreen here with another share

As always, I decided what I wanted to use for my card

I cut all the pieces and clear embossed my sentiment using Adirondak ink Latte.
I cut extra petals out of the designer paper and stuck them into the flower

I added pearls to my butterflies and stuck some petals down to look as
if they were falling

Fancy Poinsettia

I really like using dies on my cards and I have been having a lot of fun during these months on the Dies R Us Team.  I'm  Barbara, and my teammates and I bring you inspiration every day.  I have a card for you today that I used just dies and one stamp for the sentiment.

This is the finished card, but here is how I did it.

I colored a piece of white card stock with my Copic R39 marker and then
die cut a lot of poinsettias.
I colored the center again with the same maker, to give the flower some dimension.

I also die cut some leaves and then colored them with YG 63 and YG 97 for some definition.
I cut two snowflakes from white sparkly card stock as well as a border called
Lovely Arched Loop Edge.
Then I arranged them on my card front until I liked what I saw.
I often do that before gluing down anything.

Tip: When die cutting, often it is difficult to get the paper out of the die.  I placed a sticky clear adhesive dot on my Big Shot.  After die cutting, just press the paper in the die to the dot and it "pops" out. You will need to reduce the stickiness of the dot at first.  Just touch it with your fingers until it is not so sticky. I saw this on an internet site and cannot remember where.

Mitten Card

Vickie Y with you today sharing a mitten shaped card.

I like using dies to create shaped cards.  I fold an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in half and place the edge of the die about an 1/8" of an inch over the folded edge of the cardstock and then run it through my die cutting machine.

After cutting the cardbase out I placed the front of the mitten cardbase inside an embossing folder to give some texture to the mitten.  Then die cut the bow and snowflake from the die set.

Supplies used that are found in the DRU Online Store:

Christmas Candles

Merry Christmas from Dies R Us!!!
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful day, no matter how you chose to celebrate the holidays!!

Welcome to another Dies R Us Inspiration blog post. It's Judy here with you, and today I have a little Christmas Candle card for you.

Here is how I made this card:

First I chose my papers. I decided to have my card base a pretty dark green.

Next I cut my images using the Memory Box Glowing Candles die set on gold foil card stock, and the Poppy Stamp Bow and String using GKD Red Hot Card Stock.

Then I partially die cut the candles with red, and the holly leaves with green.

The innerds of the candles and leaves were what I was after. They got sponged, and then inlaid into the gold candle die cut. I die cut a couple of nesting oval shapes for my background and adhered the focal to the oval. Then I was ready to put the whole card together.
I added a gold embossed holiday message to the front, and then pulled out my Wink of Stella to add sparkle to the candles, and added some Stickles to the flames to make them glow

These are the dies I used:
