Lots of Die Cuts to make a Birthday Card

Hi .. it's Bev here today.  How are you today. This DT project for Dies R Us showcases a birthday card made using lots of die cuts... some single and some matted for pop of colour and depth with texture too. The papers are from the Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs collection.... the colours were perfect.

Supply List:
Machine/ tools: Big Shot Express, misti
Paper: Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs
Other: Beacon glue, cardstock, ribbon, ink, stamp, Twine, brads

It's a very busy paper line but I made it work. On the front I fussy cut the section from the prints to fit my card size and picked a different piece for the background.
I die cut lots of flowers and leaves to work with.

I chose turquoise to die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I glued things together into layers.. then wrapped and tied the twine accent and added a few brads. I then glues on the die cut Happy Birthday sentiment to finish the front and outside of my card. It was then glues and applied to the card base.

Inside the card I stamped the short verse and then clustered some amazing die cut flowers with leaves.

Today I have made a Birthday card ,  with soft colors,

Here's my card:

I carved a window in the center of my printed paper:

I then realized my serrated hexagonal cut on my solid background paper:

Finally I realized the floral arrangement in the colors of my patterned paper :

Here are the dies Dies R US used to make this card:

I hope that my card has pleased you

Poinsettia Tag

Hello!  Donna Phelan back again.
It's the end of November time to get serious about finishing up some Christmas cards!
Here's what I have for you today!

I used the beautiful Memory Box Plush Poinsettia Corner die.  I cut once in White and then in Hot Pink layering the pink petals back in to the white base die.  Check out all of that texture on the pretty petals.  I decided to make a faux window by layering 2 Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Tags together, leaving just a border.  On the back of the cut I added a piece of Vellum and White card stock--which I also added texture to using a Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

Cut a smaller Stitched Tag for my sentiment and stamped image.

I love these colors in Turquoise, Pink and White.  Non Traditional Christmas colors for sure, but I like their bright cheery effect!

I only adhered the very top of the sentiment tag so you could curl the end of it, this lends just a bit more dimension to the card.
Sheer Ribbon and Adhesive Pearls, which I colored with
Copic Markers to coordinate with my card stock.
Fa La La La La
Here's what I used:

Enjoy~~

Warm Winter Thoughts

Hi Dies R Us Friends,

It's S@ndy here, Thanksgiving is behind us for another year and now it's time to get all that decorating and shopping done.  Once in awhile it's nice to just kick back and take a break from all the madness.  My card today is a good reminder to do just that, breath!

What makes this card fun is that it's an easel card.  When open, a battery operated tea light fits behind the flames and makes them flicker.

This is a 5.5" square easel card.
Cut card base 11" X 5.5".  Placing long edge at top of scoring board, score at 5.5" and 2.75".
Cut another panel that is 5.5" square. (shown in gray strips)
Cut one piece of black cardstock that is 3.5" square.
Cut one piece of vellum that is 3.5" square.
Cut one piece of coordinating paper for the words.

Using the Hang the Christmas Stockings die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs(ECD) - cut all pieces.
Using the ECD Stitched Rectangles cut - cut one rectangle that is 4.75" X 3.5".
Using the ECD Dotted Scallop Rectangle die - cut the coordinating size to fit the larger rectangle.

Place double sided adhesive to back of panel that will be used for the words, ECD clear double sided adhesive was used here.

Using the ECD Warm Thoughts die - cut by placing die on paper side.  When you remove the adhesive from the back, it will be a sticker.

Layer the panels together as shown above and add words.  Set aside.

Add the 5.5" (gray) panel to the bottom section of the card making sure not to cross over the first score line.  It should look like the photo on the left, above.

Lay the card out flat and place a rectangle die as shown above - run through die cutting machine cutting through 2 panels.  Be sure that this cut out a little wider than the fireplace mantel but not taller.

Assemble mantel by gluing decorative piece in place.

Glue the black panel on the back of the mantel making sure it is even along the bottom.
Using the larger flame in the die set, place in center of black panel and run through die cutting machine.
Trim away any excess on the bottom so it is open.

Place mantel on front panel of the card. The die set comes with a narrow strip to add to the bottom but I later changed that for a longer one that went across the entire card.

Using the vellum panel, cut smaller flame and color with ink or markers.  Using the same colors - color the remaining vellum panel.  It doesn't have to be neat.

Place vellum panel on the back so the color shows through the flame opening.

Add small flame to the front.

Assemble stockings.

Hang stocking on the mantel.

Using the ECD Berry Branch die, cut one branch and add berries.  Nuvo drops were used here but use what ever you have in your stash.

Cut branch into smaller sections and add to top of mantel.

Don't forget to take a break from all those holiday activities and BREATH!!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene with you today and  I have a cute card to share for the upcoming holiday season.

This was so much fun to put together.  I just received my Dies R Us order so used several of those dies for today's fun winter scene.    The dies used are listed below and the technique I used for the trees, branch & fawn was die cutting multiple times and gluing them together to give a 'chipboard' affect.

After die cutting my focus 'Ice Crystal Frame', I brushed the center section with TH 'broken china' distress ink and reinserted it into the die cut.  On the back I added tiny pieces of scotch tape at the points to keep it together.

To add more texture to the plain blue card stock base, I used the same paint brush and 'pounced' the brush onto the card using the same TH distress ink.  Then I added a few pounces of white pearl paint and set aside to dry.  While my base card was drying I started creating my scene and stacking those elements that I wanted to use for dimension (trees, branch, fawn).

Here are the dies used on today's creation:

Amy Design - Dies - Wintertide - Ice Crystal Frame

Jeanine's Art - Dies - Winter Classics - Winter Birds

 Yvonne Creations - Snowy Tree

Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Winter Wonderland

Poppystamps - Dies - Cute Fawn

 Another look ...
