All My Love

This is one of those very rare cards (at least for me!) that comes together just as I envisioned it.  Although it isn't a true birthday card, this is what I am giving my mom for her 84th birthday this June.  Grab a cup and have a seat - this post is a bit photo heavy.

What I Used to Make my Card:
Lilac Card Base
Watercolor Paper
Memory Box Fairytale Border, #98473
Die-Versions Whispers Fence Background #DVW-314
Sentiment from SemSee's Designs for Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine (Jan 2017)
Hero Arts Bubble Gum Ink
Craft Mat
Zig Clean Color Markers in Light Green, May Green, Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Cobalt Blue, Light Violet & Yellow
Detail Tip Watercolor Brush
White Cardstock

I knew I wanted to watercolor the flowers on the Fairytale Border so I used watercolor paper for the die cut.  I have found that for vibrant watercolor nothing beats Zig Clean Color Markers, and if you like to watercolor, I strongly suggest you grab a set.  Since there is more green than any other color, that is what I used first.  I just sort of scribbled the light green and may green markers around where I wanted the green to go.

Then, as I blended the greens together, I added more where I felt there may be a bit of color lacking.  The process is very forgiving, as long as you dry your cardstock in between adding colors.

Then it was time to play with the flowers.  Most of them are colored with just one color, but I wanted the largest blooms to stand out a bit more so I used two reds to color them; carmine red and light carmine.  The picture on the left shows how I colored the flowers with the light carmine, pulling the color from the tip of the flower to the inside.  The picture on the right shows where I colored the inside of the blooms with the darker carmine red.  All I did was just keep blending with the detail water brush, drying
the flowers and stems in between the blending, and adding more color as needed to achieve the look I wanted.  Once I finished with the border, I die cut the fence background and wove the flowers throughout.

I chose the sentiment from a set of free stamps I had gotten and stamped it onto white card using bubble gum pink ink.  Lastly, I attached the fence and flowers to the card base, then I attached the sentiment, gently placing it under the flowers and lining it up with the fence.
Another Look
All of the dies I used here are brand new and I can see many more uses for both of them.  In fact, I am putting more "background" dies on my wish list!

A Pocket Full Of Get Well Wishes

Hi crafty friends!
Stacey back with you today to share a card that I created using some fabulous dies that can be found in the Dies R Us Store

With allergy season upon us (it's pretty bad in my area), I thought it would be fitting to have a get well card on hand in case it was needed.

I started out by cutting out some flowers from white cardstock using the

I colored my flowers with some Copic markers for a little color.
I wasn't sure how many I would use so I colored them all.

Next I cut out a pocket from some patterned paper using the
Look at that stitching! Wow!

I attached two of the flowers to the back of the pocket.

Now it was time to build my card. I created my A2 card base out of some white cardstock and layered some patterned paper on top. I added a strip of patterned paper and some ribbon a little below the center of my card front. I added a white stitched panel that I cut out using the Stitched Journaling Card Die from Lawn Fawn with some foam tape to my card front and added my pocket with flowers. I finished off my card with my greeting and a fun little bow.

Here is a look at all the dies that were used on my card today:

Believe In Yourself Card

Hello friends! Debbie Sherman with you today!
Today I'm sharing a new card  for Dies R Us.
This card is a fun card that features a fun die by Tutti Designs
called the Summery Wreath
I wanted to create the look of a dream catcher so I simply die cut my wreath from some blue glitter card stock and adhered it to a piece of bohemian patterned paper. I stamped some feathers and adhered it under the wreath.

The background is made from a piece of coordinating patterned paper  and then I cut another pieced of patterned paper into small rectangles and adhered to the background.
The envelope is also lined with a piece of coordinating paper.

Giving cards is one of the most personal, thoughtful and encouraging
things you can do for a friend or loved one.  All too often
people send a text or use social media to send
sentiments to people who sometimes could use a little more
personal encouragement.

The smile on a friend or family members face is worth it!
Dies R Us has so many fun dies for all occasions, be sure to stop by

Dies two ways!

Hello crafty friends!  Barbara here, to give you some inspiration and a way to use your dies in two different ways.  Let's get started.

Here is the card that I made for you today.
This die is called Secret Garden, by Dee's Distinctively Dies, sold by Dies R Us.  The title of this die, made me think of something whimsical and magical and I wanted it to look that way.  I die cut some of the flowers from scratch paper.  You can use them as mask, as I did here.
On Kraft card stock I sponged around the outside of the mask with Kraft ink.

I liked that look, but I wanted to make the flowers stand out more, so I used the negative card stock as a stencil and sponged white ink on them. You can see how I did that here.

After choosing the polka dot paper to put the Kraft background on, I got another idea and just totally made the flowers whimsical, and cut them from the same polka dot paper. I really like the magical look that I got and it was what I was going for.  Lastly I used wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the centers of these Corn Flowers. I die cut some leaves out of the same paper to add to the blossoms. the stems are just free hand cuts.

Dee's Distinctively Dies - Secret Garden Flower 1
Check out Dee's Distinctively Dies, there are several flowers that you could use for this.

Playful Monkeys!

Hello DiesRUs Friends!  Vickie Y here to share a happy, fun-loving card for any age!

My card is a top-fold card that I used the Poppy Stamps Jungle Vine Oval die to create the opening.
I then die cut three monkeys from the Poppy Stamps Happy Monkey die, and die cut the word smile from the Penny Black Heartfelt die set.

Here's a tip when die cutting a figure that needs to be pieced together - die cut from white cardstock and then color using your markers, pencils, etc., before piecing together.

I colored the tree and vines using alcohol makers and then placed a solid color of designer paper behind the die cut card front.

Here's a close-up of these playful monkeys!

To complete my card I placed the die cut smile in the lower right corner of the card as shown in the completed card at the top.

My "Bliss"

Okay Monday, let's do this....
Hi everyone!  Vicki here sharing inspiration to start your week.  Today I have a 12 x 12 page layout for you.  Our youngest daughter recently had some family photos taken and the daddy-daughter one is a favorite of mine!  It was perfect for my new Sizzix BigZ "Bliss" die cut.

"My Bliss"

I used two die cuts on this layout.  The "Bliss" is a Sizzix BigZ die by Brenda Walton.  It is large enough to fill this 12 x 12 paper and requires the extra long cutting plates for your die cutting machine.  I used my Sizzix Big Shot Plus and the plates were long enough, but I also have a set of the extra long ones that go with my Big Shot.  The photo corner heart is Yvonne Creations.

Yvonne Creations

Here you can see how large the die cut word is.  It requires a 6" x 12" piece of paper.  I added clear Wink of Stella along the edges of the word to give it a little sparkle.

You're a Hoot!

Hi everyone! This is my very first post as a part of the Dies R Us Design Team and I want to thank you for stopping by!  I hope you will join me and my teamies daily here at the Inspiration Blog; be sure to join in with your own creation on the Challenge Blog!

Since meeting my new next door neighbor, I've adopted her obsession with owls.  I just think they are so cool and SO cute! Since I just got some new dies, I thought I'd make this to have on hand just in case I needed an all occasion card in a pinch (and, honestly, I was dying to use my new Lawn Fawn set!)

What I Used to Make my Card: (A2 size unless stated)
White Card Base
Black Card Panel
Circle Punch
Impression Obsession, Owl, #DIE283-O
Lawn Fawn "You're a Hoot" Stamp Set, #LF605
Die-Versions Whisper Stitched Nesting Squares, #DV-572
White, Yellow, Black and Orange Cardstock
Googly Eyes
Black Ink
Branch (I used my Silhouette CAMEO)
Another Look

The first thing I did was die cut my owl out of white cardstock.  He's a studious, snowy barn owl so he had to be white; and he needs his glasses to watch for mice! I cut the body and wings out of white card, his nose and feet out of orange card, his glasses out of black card.  I then punched a yellow moon out using a very old circle punch.  I don't have a branch die (yet), so I used my Silhouette machine to cut out a simple branch using brown cardstock.  I adhered my owl, moon and branch to the black card base panel, then stamped my sentiment onto a piece of white card and then die cut out using the stitched square die.

I smile every time I look at this owl and I am hoping this cute little card will give you a smile, too!  Thank you SO much for stopping by, and if you have some time I encourage you to click on the links below and check out all the fabulous creations that can be made with products at Dies R Us.  Fondly, Christi
