Sending Hugs

Hello, Alicia with you today.  I have several cards I created with the Altenew Gradient Stripes die.  This die really lends itself to using the negative pieces.  Therefore, it works great in creating many cards in one sitting.  I used pattern paper to make the cards even more interesting.

All of the cards use Quick Quotes double sided designer paper, using double sided papers is another great way to stretch the negatives.  This first card uses the inside of a pattern paper.

This card uses the outside filled with a more solid but still patterned paper.  I used a coordinating solid paper to die cut the sentiment.

This card uses the same paper collection with a different paper.

Another view.  I just love how the inlaid pieces fit perfectly.

Happy Fall Ya'all!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Lisa here, sharing a fall themed card with lots of shimmer!  I combined products from Frantic Stamper, Lawn Fawn and Tutti Designs to make this card!

I started my project by choosing a fall-themed background die by Frantic Stamper called Swirling Leaves Stitched Background.  It's 3.5" by 5" so I ran it through my die cut machine twice on my 6.75" x 4.75" mat.  You can't even see the line between the two, the die lines up beautifully.

I decided I wanted to use a stamp since September is National Stamping Month, so I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Before 'N Afters stamp set.

I chose to pair the stamp set with one of my favorite die sets, Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Banners.  Unfortunately, I somehow deleted the photos I took of the stamping, coloring and inking processes.  My apologies!  I do have a photo of the card before I adhered it together and embellished it.

I felt it needed something so I added the stones.

I hope this card inspires to make a fun fall card with any of the fun and amazing dies that Dies R Us carries.  --Lisa

Sweet Hello

It's a Sweet Hello! Complete with a campfire and yummy gooey smores. Tis the season for outdoor fun and today I used several Karen Burniston die sets to create this fun pop up.  On the front I used nesting dies to frame words and the pieced smores with a sprinkle of marshmallows.

The details on the smores are impeccable right down to the dots in the graham crackers.

And on the inside...a pop up campfire accented with marshmallows on a stick.  The sentiment completes on the inside.

Still perfecting the pop up fire.  One of Karen's suggestions is to color the empty fold space.  That's the easy step, the stones aren't too hard either but getting the fire to pop up properly is the tricky part.  It's always best to adhere one side firmly, then add glue to the "loose" side and close the card on it.

Thinking of You Birdie Card

SQUAWK! Today I am excited to share this cute birdie "Thinking of You" card I created using Elizabeth Craft Design Parrot Die

This little guy was so fun! and being a birdie momma of a green quaker parrot I knew I had to have this die!

To recreate this card you will need:

Die R Us Supplies

Elizabeth Craft Design Parrot Die

Frantic Stamper Elementals #14 Scalloped Square Basics

Altenew Heartfelt Sentimental Stamps.

Other Supplies

Card stock - green plaid, green dot, green squares, yellow embossed, white; black Nuvo drops; ink; 5 1/2 inch card base

Creating your card

Start by die cutting your Elizabeth Craft Design Parrot Die   from your card stock.

If your plan and layout out your dies you can cut multple dies and colors at the same time!

Assemble your parrot's head.

Assemble the parrot's  body.

Add black Nuvo drops (or die cut eyes) to finish your parrot.

Cut a 5 1/4 inch square of green plaid paper and adhere to your card base. Die cut scalloped square from Frantic Stamper Elementals #14 Scalloped Square Basics using white card stock. The Scalloped square die cuts a frame and a stitched square all in one cut!

Adhere die cut frame to your card.

Stamp "thinking of You" sentiment from the Altenew Heartfelt Sentimental Stamps. This set has so many great sentiments!

Adhere your stamped square to your card.

Finish your card by adding your assembled die cut parrot!

Heat Press Using Dies

Hi everyone today I tried something a bit different.  So, I got a heat press to make Tshirts and thought of using one of my Frantic Stamper "Tomas the Toucan" dies to make a onesie for my grandson.  It was easier than I thought.  The difference is you won't have all the excess transfer paper.  You will weed the transfer paper from the actual die cut pieces.

1. Diecut your image using your chosen diecut. I cut him using Black Heat Press vinyl

2. Diecut your image layers in your chosen colors. I used a holographic vinyl for his body.  If you use a simple diecut versus one with different layers you can use one color which will stand out a bit better.  I am always pushing my limits so I went for a layered look.

3.  Heat using your press on the required setting.  Once done you will have a diecut onesie, shirt, pants etc.  I am gojng to try different varieties.

Below is a quick video showing how it came out once I heated it on the onesie

Today the world revolves around you

Hello readers, Alicia with a Lawn Fawn card.  I love these cute little images.  I have so much fun coloring them.  I also enjoy creating Distress Oxide backgrounds.  Together, I spent a lot of time creating the elements before combining them all on my galaxy card.

I had so much fun coloring images that I make dozens of pieces in one sitting.  I stamped as many images from Lawn Fawn Out of the World stamps and Lawn Fawn Beam me Up stamps as I could fit on my piece of paper.  I used a stamping platform to stamp the sheets multiple times and heat emboss.  I colored them with various alcohol markers and finally die cut them several at a time to "mass produce" elements.

A tip to make the transition between clouds and space smooth is to add the cloud layer first them die cut the outside shape with the pieces together. I also illustrate in the photo below layering of the twine.  First I adhered one end to the astronaut with pop dots.  Next I added the other end to the back of the space layer with double sided adhesive.  I trimmed the excess off the back.  Finally, I added a drop of glue to create the curve of the twine in the manner I desired.

I used gold shimmer spray on top of the Distress Oxide background after I had spritzed with plenty of water to create the soft chalk appearance. I felt the gold brought out the Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber layered underneath the Black Soot.  I also played up the yellow with a soft yellow soft card base, yellow sequins and a yellow planet in my assortment.

In addition to the following Dies R Us products, I used Colorbox black pigment ink, Judikins black detail embossing powder, Judikins Diamond Glaze, alcohol markers, gold shimmer spray, sequins, twine with glossy black, yellow, and white card stock.
