Take It Easy . . .

Welcome Back Dies R Us Fans!
Have you been to the store lately?
There have been literally hundreds of new dies released
and offered through out this month and you'll want to get your order in right away!

Darlene here on this LAST day of July offering a little
inspiration by using die cuts to create a card that just by looking at it
gives you a feeling of peace and tranquility!

Who doesn't enjoy sitting on a park bench just listening to the birds singing in the trees?  Well, that's what  I had in mind when creating today's card using only TWO die cuts.
The dies I've used today are:

When I can't find the background design paper I want to use, I simply pull out my ink and sponges and create my own as I've done today.  Plus I wanted my dies to be the focus of my card ... not the background.

To create the various colors for my birds/butterflies, I first die cut the entire die using green card stock then used scraps of red, blue and purple card stock to run back through just those portions of the die that contained the birds/butterflies.  A little snip here & there ... a touch of white glue and VIOLA ... the birds were singing their happy tunes!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Please remember we have a NEW CHALLENGE beginning tomorrow and will last through August 13th.  The theme will be:  SUMMERTIME FUN (YOUR interpretation!)
Please come join us!

Black and White Elegance

Hello All, Happy Thursday to you!!!

I have been making so many summer and scenic cards,
that I decided to switch gears so to speak and create
a bit more of an elegant card!

The bottom glittery layer and the black layer on top
were both cut with Spellbinders Romantic Rose dies.
Now this was out of stock for a bit, but what I did was click on the tab
that says "Put me on the waiting list" and what this does
is email you when the product is back in stock.
Makes it so easy, and since this has been a very popular die,
is goes in and out quite frequently.

I stamped a beautiful sentiment from JustRite
with white embossing powder.  I love how pretty
it looks with this card!

The flowers were made in two sizes using
Cheery Lynn Designs Gardenia Small and
Cheery Lynn Gardenia Strip.
I glittered each flower with
Sparkle N Sprinkle Twinkling Clouds glitter.

The butterflies are Wild Rose Little Butterfly
which I heavily coated with a crystal coarse glitter.

The ribbon bow was made with gorgeous ribbon
from the ribbon club at RRR and decorated with a TH button!

Check out out challenge we have going on at the
There is always awesome inspiration there!

Visit us here Monday -  Friday to see daily inspiration here, too!

Thanks for visiting!!

Red, White & Black ...

Happy Tuesday Everyone
and welcome back to the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog!
I do hope you've taken the opportunity to pop in frequently for your die cutting inspiration.
The other ladies and I try to give you a wide variety of inspiration and hope you find something that fits YOUR style of crafting!

Today I (Darlene) have a fun birthday card to share which utilized the 'negative' portion of a die cut I recently used on another card.  Let me show you what I'm referring to ...

The dies I have used are as follows:
Spellbinder Nestabilities Class Oval
(I've used the original OLDER set)...
but you could also use the newer
Spellbinder Nestabilities 'Floral Oval'  #S4-356
(not currently available)

It is the 'Loveland Corner' die I'm referring to in regards to using the 'negative' portion.  Earlier in the month I die cut this die in RED and in WHITE and had both those panels laying on the crafting table.  On my earlier creation I decided to use the RED (positive) die cut which left me with the 'negative' panel and both the positive & negative panel of the white.

By simply matting my red panel onto a black mat
then 'INLAYING' the white positive die cut,
THIS was the result and I love how it looks!  How about you?

I also utilized the small flowers/stars that popped out of my
Spellbinder sentiment panel by just gluing them here and there through out the body of the card. And of course, the white hearts that popped out of my corner die were used on the INSIDE for a finishing touch!  (You know how it is ... we crafters don't like to waste anything!  LOL)
No?  Well, you owe it to yourself to pop over there right now and check them out!!

Don't forget about our Challenge Blog!
New challenges posted on the 1st and 15th of each month!
YOU could be our next winner of a Dies R Us Store Voucher!!

Thanks for stopping by ... till next time ...

Float Like a Butterfly

Hello, and welcome to Monday and a brand new week!   I spent a good part of my weekend in the garden watching the butterflies floating about.   When the butterfly bush is in bloom we always have an abundance of these beautiful creatures.   I’m not sure if it’s simply their time, or if the butterfly bush really does work such magic in attracting them.  At any rate, I certainly do enjoy the winged display – some magnificent, some dainty and cute.

I recently went searching butterfly dies at Dies R Us and it was nearly as enjoyable as the butterflies in the garden.  I had the MOST difficult time deciding on just one. . . until I came to this gorgeous creature and I knew it was “the one”.

That is one BIG beautiful butterfly, isn’t it?   It’s by Impression Obsession, called Open Scroll Butterfly.   How much easier could it be to make a fabulous card in minutes?  I need quick and fabulous now and then.   I cut the butterfly twice -- once from pale pink and once from deep pink, then layered the two together, ever so slightly offset.   The deep pink helped the open scroll design of the butterfly stand out from the open design of the Sue Wilson Greek Island San Torini die cut.

My butterfly needed a garden, but I felt the card had enough going on with these two intricate die cuts, so I let the designer paper be the garden.   Again, so simple – layered, stitched, and done!

Just a note about using the search field at Dies R Us:   Try typing in both the singular and pleural, as in “butterfly” and “butterflies” (do NOT use the quotation marks).  You wouldn’t want to miss anything.   For instance, when I type in “butterfly” I get 130 matches.   When I type in “butterflies” I get 46 matches – entirely different from the singular search.  You probably already knew that, but just thought I’d mention it.

Come see us at the Challenge Blog, too.   Challenges run for two weeks at a time so you have a chance to get in on it and maybe win yourself a Dies R Us gift voucher.  Have a happy day!

Christmas in July

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
There's no time like the present to get started
on those holiday cards!
Darlene here with you today... welcome back!
I couldn't wait to receive some of the new holiday dies released
from Memory Box and available in the Dies R Us Store.

Today I've created a card using a NEW die and a couple OLDER dies.  I love being able to combine dies to create a quick and impressive card creation!

These newly released dies go in & out of stock quickly so be sure to get your order placed while they are available!  Today I've used one of the new Memory Box snowflake dies called Dazzling Snowdrift Corner #MBD 99272 which unfortunately at the time of this posting ... is out of stock.

This is really a fun die!
The snowflakes actually cut & pop out for additional versatility on your card (as I have done today).  First I die cut my corner die from white card stock ... then from a scrap of the medium blue I used for my background panel, I die cut just the 3 larger snowflakes.  I lightly sponged Tim Holtz 'faded jeans' distress ink onto the blue snowflakes and inserted them into the my corner die panel where the white snowflakes were popped out from.
Follow me?
Maybe this closeup will help ...

After getting the corner created to my satisfaction, I decided to use a couple of the white snowflakes from the original cut along with these adorable Memory Box 'Precious Mittens' #98663 and of course a sentiment.  In this case, I chose the Cheery Lynn Designs 'Merry Christmas Set' #B186.
Of course every holiday card needs a touch of sparkle so I grabbed my red Stickles and added a dab here and there to 'pull it all together'!

AGAIN ... be sure to get your holiday dies on order NOW!
The prices at the Dies R Us store are fabulous  ... as are the shipping charges ... and the selection is AMAZING!!!!

Don't forget about our CHALLENGE BLOG ... please come join in the fun!  Today's card actually fits with the current challenge which is CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!  You have until the 28th to get your entry in and YOU could be the winner of a gift voucher to the store!

Leslie will be back to 'knock your socks off' with inspiration on Monday and I'll be back again on Tuesday.  But you can find fabulous inspiration samples any day of the week Monday through Friday from myself and my amazing team mates!
Be sure to stop in often!!!
Until next time . . .

Butterfly Layers

Hi, Diane with you today!

Did you see all the NEW dies at the Dies R Us store?
Wowzers, there are so many and I want them all!!
I orderd some right away and have a couple to show you today!

I did a pretty much clean and simple card
by using 2 new Memory Box dies.

I started with Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance for my
base for the butterflies.

The next die is one of the new Memory Box dies
This die first cuts the butterfly "free"
and is attached only in the middle,
allowing it to "flutter".
Then you simply emboss it...
leaving "angel wings" next to the cut out part.
Make sense?....
When you purchase it, you will see right off what I mean.
I would suggest using removable tape to hold it place
while cutting and embossing.

Then I made a nice discovery.
The new Memory Box Stitched Vivienne Butterfly die
fits perfectly on top of the Angel Wing Butterfly!
(As soon s I can find the link, I will add it,
for some reason it will not show up...sorry)!

So I first cut the Angel Wing Butterfly in white,
then cut a second one in red, this time snipping it off,
then cutting the stitched butterfly in blue.

I slightly staggered them, as it was the look I wanted.

A few pearls and a sentiment were added to finish!

Come back tomorrow and every day Monday-Friday for more inspiration!
Visit the Dies R Us challenge blog for a chance to win !

See you next Thursday!!

It's a Boy!

Hello Everyone!  Happy  Tuesday!
Darlene here with you today to share a 'baby inspired' post!
There are several different companies at the Dies R Us store that have some sweet, amazing baby related die cuts ... just go to the Search Box and type in BABY ... you'll be amazed at all the fun things that pop up!
The dies I've used today are:
Spellbinder (OLD) Shapeabilities - 'Playtime' #S4-261

 Isn't this onesie just adorable!
Wouldn't it make a wonderful birth announcement card?
I've added faux stitching with a white gelly roll pen where the embossing lines are when die cut ... just for added flair without bulk.  You could do so much with this onesie die cut!  Keep it simple as I have today ... or really dress it up with patterned paper and embellishments.

Being a 'boy card', I felt something with wheels was necessary!  LOL!
Did you notice I colored the nipples on the bottles?
Quick & easy touch with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol mark TB1.

If there's something in particular you're looking to create and can't find the die cut you need ... be sure to pop over to the STORE and type your topic in the Search Box ... I'm sure it will come up with some fabulous selection for you to choose from!

Celebrate Your Day!

Hello, friends!  I’ve made a card much different from the norm for me in that it includes no stamped or colored image. . . just a sentiment, and not a very large sentiment at that.   Nevertheless, I enjoyed the creating of it with some easy die cutting and layering.

I’m using dies from a recent Dies R Us order where I keep a wish list which I add to and tweak and hem and haw over until I feel I’m making some wise and useful choices.   Ha!   Wouldn’t it be nice if everything in my stamp room was a wise and useful choice?   I’m trying to do better.   Really I am!   This time it worked out just right.

All tucked away for an upcoming birthday!  Come see us on the Challenge Blog, too, where you can play along and win!   Have a happy day!

White On White Summer

Can you believe it's already Thursday,
the middle of July, and my turn to inspire you once again?

I made a pretty (though difficult to photograph)
white on white summer card!

I embossed the background with
Darice Quilt Blocks embossing folder.
I started layering with
Cheery Lynn Designs Waltzing Matilda Lace Doily die.

Next came Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish.
I cut Cheery Lynn Designs Birdhouse With Lattice
and popped it up over the flourish
Behind it I tucked a white fluffy feather and a "crystal" flower.

Last, I added a bird using
Cheery Lynn Designs Feathered Friends.

Make sure and visit Monday - Friday
with a new design post each day.

You are such a peach!

Hello again, friends!

Once again, it is my turn to see if I can inspire you and today's post is a sweet little thank you card.  We all have those people in our lives who do nice things for us & this card is a perfect way to tell them how much you appreciate it!  I began with a precious digi from Mo Manning.  And going with the "peach" theme, I kept to soft colors.  With only three dies it was so simple to create this beautiful card:  Cheery Lynn Small Exotic Butterflies 1, Spellbinders Elegant Ovals and Sue Wilson Italian Collection-Umbria.

I used the smallest of the Elegant Ovals set and popped up my computer generated sentiment.  I LOVE the versatility you get with dies.  Most of the sets give you several sizes for multiple layering options and this one is no exception.

Be sure to visit the store before you leave! But be prepared to spend some time once you get there! The selection is just expanding by the day and you will have a really hard time trying to decide which dies you just HAVE to have!  If you are like me, you want them ALL!  Remember, that anything you want that is out of stock is not a problem.  Just leave your name on the waiting list & Dies R Us will automatically send you an email the moment it is back in stock!

If you haven't stopped by the Dies R Us Challenge Blog yet, we are starting a new challenge today!  Hop on over for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store!

Until next Wednesday, have a fantastic week & create something beautiful!

Dreams Have Wings . . .

Happy Day Everyone!
Darlene with you today and I have another quick & easy card
created using dies from the Dies R Us store.

The dies used are:

The Flying Kites die is all ONE die.  To achieve
the appearance of three different kites,
I simply diecut it out from three different scraps of colored paper
then cut and paper pieced them back together
atop a full die cut of white card stock.

The inside of my card reads "The Sky's The Limit".
(sorry ... forgot to take a photo)

I hope you'll come see for yourself what Dies R Us has to offer!
Here are the links to help you on your way . . .

A new challenge begins tomorrow ... won't you come join us?
I hope to see you there!
Till next time . . .

Lavender Gift Set

Hello, and happy Monday!  Today I’m sharing a little something I prepared for a friend on her birthday. At our local farmer’s market I picked up some lavender soap and a lavender sachet, then made my own quick and easy packaging and a card to match.  I used only one die set, but it made a whole lot of pretty!

These very sweet and feminine dies are found in the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals set.  I have a particular fondness for ovals, and I especially like something with a solid center onto which I can stamp and color an image.   However, in this case I layered the ovals and cut out and popped up my stamped images.  The stamp set I used is Power Poppy’s Lavender with an “O happy day” from another Power Poppy set.

If you love dies as I do, treat yourself to a little window shopping at Dies R Us.  Browse their huge selection and build your wish list, then take advantage of their low prices and shipping rates once you’ve narrowed down your choices.   That’s the hard part – narrowing it down.   Have a happy day!

Friends . . .

Happy Friday Dies R Us Fans!
Darlene here today to share a card that is going in my mailbox today to a friend who is feeling a bit left out at the moment ...
Sometimes a little surprise like a homemade card is all that is necessary to lift the spirits of someone who is not feeling quite up to par ... or has maybe lost a loved one and just needs to feel loved!

Dies R Us has a wide range of dies to help you create those uplifting cards ... pop over and get your order in today.  If you're not signed up for the newsletter yet, you'll want to do that while you are there because they are always having fabulous pop-up sales and you need to see the newsletter to be aware they are out there!!  HURRY ...

I fell in love with these two  Spellbinder sets as soon as I saw them.

You can do SO MUCH with this adorable 'Asters & Poppies' set!
Today I utilized them in a couple of different ways.

First I die cut them using white card stock ... then before removing them from the die, I used a small sponge finger dauber and inked some color on the exposed portions.

Secondly, I die cut a second set using a very deep purple (looks black and almost is! lol) which I then positioned behind my colored set to give the illusion of a shadow.  I love how they look ... how about you?

I knew the flowers were going to be the accent to my sentiment panel so I really wanted my 'Inspired by Stamping' sentiment to POP!  I was able to achieve this by using TWO of the SIX dies in the Spellbinder 'Majestic Labels Eight' set.

I hope you've found inspiration in today's card and also find a few minutes in your busy day to create a card that you can mail to someone and help lift their spirits!

Remember our current challenge is still open
until Monday, July 13th.
the theme is Stars & Stripes.

Till next time!

Love Birds

Hi Diane with you today.
I have a very simple "tweet" bird card today!
I colored a stamp with markers,
then spritzed with water to make a watercolor background.

I used  Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight
to cut the image out with.
I "perched" my little Impression Obsession Love Birds
by cutting the die out twice,
once in green for the branch and a second time in pink
for the birds, which I paper pieced on.

They are singing there little hearts out..LOL..
the hearts are part of the Love Birds die.

I added  a few tiny pearls,
a green bow and button to finish,

Take a peek at the Dies R Us store.
Did you know you could make a "wishlist" there?
I love it as I can add all the dies I want to purchase
in the future without having to look them up again...
give it a try!

Visit our  Dies R Us challenge blog too for more inspiration.

A Tisket a Tasket, a Little Flower Basket

Hello!  Today I'd like to share a card that was extra fun to create using pretty stamps from the Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur Collection and several fabulous Dies R Us dies.

After coloring the flower basket with Copic markers I cut it out and set about arranging the parts I had chosen for my design.   I layered a base of orchid and green, then covered that with a panel of Cuttlebug Wicker Weave embossed white.  Now, for the really fun part. . .
  • Impression Obsession Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames -- This die cuts six frames all at once.  You can use one frame individually or piece a few together, as I did here.   I cut two frame sets, one from white and one from purple polka dots, and sandwiched the purple in the middle.   So many cute possibilities with this die set!
  • Spellbinders Sprigs and Impression Obsession Grass – I taped these die cuts to the back of the flower basket before adhering the basket to the card.
  • Die-namites Beautiful Bow – Pretty and playful, it seems a fitting accent for the whimsical nature of the frame.

I added a little glitter to the flowers, too.   With all these pretty parts I didn’t pop up a single thing or use any hardware on the card, yet it’s loaded with texture and dimension.   I do love a card that fits easily in an envelope!  Thanks for joining me today!

Darlene back with you again today sharing another
inspirational sample card!
I don't know about you, but I know so many people right now dealing with one ailment or another so I thought I'd better get busy creating and sending a few get well cards to lift their spirits.

The dies I've used on today's card are as follows:

The color combination I used today is my friend's favorite so I thought it would truly bring a smile to her face when she opened the envelope.  I've used mint linen card stock, pink pirouette (SU) and Paper Adventures design paper.  A pretty paper flower with a green Prill center and a touch of ribbon was all the embellishment this card needs with all the beautiful, intricate design of the Spellbinder die set I chose to use today.

Summer Days

Hello!
I have another "summer" card today.  I stamped a scene using a
Sheena Douglas Peaceful Lakeside stamp set.

Using  Tim Holtz Distress Markers,
I water colored the image.

A few fun "details" were added using
for the Lighthouse, Ship's Wheel and the Anchor.
I cut the lighthouse twice,
once from a navy blue card stock
and again from a recycled piece of packaging,
then offset it a bit.
The anchor was cut from a silver shimmery paper.

No beach scene is complete without a few beach birds,

A piece of twine was tied to finish it off!

Don't forgot to visit Monday-Friday, as we have a new
inspiration creation each day!

Join in our "Dies R Us" challenge blog and "YOU" could be our
next winner for a gift certificate to the Dies R Us store.

Thank you for visiting with me today....
I will see "you" next Thursday!

Hang In There!

Hello again, friends!

Can you believe it is the first of July already?  I can't believe how quickly the summer is going! There never seem to be enough hours in the day, at least at my house!  I'm sure it is the same at yours.  So today's post will be a fun & quick way to send a little cheer to a friend.  I began with a darling little digi from Tiddly Inks which colors up quickly.  I cut her out with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers using a layer of white & one of purple polka dot.  For the beautiful lacy border, I used Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders Three and finished it all off with a bow from  Memory Box Plush Bow.  Although the stitched rectangle layers and scalloped border dies are currently out of stock, they should be back soon.  Just add your name to the wait list & they will notify you the moment they are back in stock!

Be sure you head over to the Dies R Us Store to check out all the fantastic dies.  They carry the largest selection of dies around and the prices & shipping can't be matched!

Don't forget the new challenge that just started today over on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  It's a lot of fun and a great chance to win a gift certificate to the store!

Until next week, have a wonderful week and make sure you create something wonderful!
