Congratulations!

Good morning readers, Alicia here today with a graduation card.  This one is a very special personalized card and isn't that the beauty of handmade cards?  My eldest niece is graduating and she is like my own.  I wanted to use her school colors and something a little extra.

The extra is...I used an actual photo of her dress as the skirt of the dress on the card!  As soon as I purchased the Frantic Stamper Pleated Dress die I started to envision this card.  This was the second card I made with this die so I had a little more experience.  I still cut the piece twice and adhere together with very strong red lined tape. But this time I folded the pleats toward the center to create a more formal look.

I printed two 5x7's of Hana with her dress all spread out and cut from the same spot to provide uniformity.

I added another fancy cut with the same blue glitter paper as the top of the dress.  I also embellished with plenty of pearl including a faux pearl necklace like my niece always wears.

To dress this card up even more, pun intended...I ran a piece of vellum through Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Simplicity embossing folder.  I layered that on top of a shimmer card stock with blue Congratulations randomly stamped image.  I hope you are inspired to try die cutting a photo for a personalized project.  I believe she will probably have this card longer than the actual dress!

Wishing you Peace & Love

Welcome back crafty friends.
Lena here today sharing a card with you that can be used for various occasions, such as a birthday, get well or just as plain friendship. You can add the special occasion greeting with your handwritten message.

I began by using a card base from Recollections. I love these packs that I get at either Michaels or Hobby Lobby (which ever store is having a good sale :-)). They come in packs of 50, measure 5.5" x 5.5", and come with matching envelopes. I added a 5.25" x 5.25" mat of teal card stock to my card base.

Then I got to work on my main die cut. I used a die from  Jeanine's Art, cut it and embossed it. The texture is just beautiful! While it was still in the die, I sponged it with Memento Teal Zeal ink to highlight all the embossed areas.  I also sponged the centre and added little ripples with one of the stamps from the Hero Arts Colour Layering Koi Stamp set.  I felt like I needed some sort of border around my little pond, but anything I added just made it seem too busy and took away from the main design of this die.  Inspired my a card my SIL made a while back, I decided to add a border of stitching and I think it was just the perfect touch.

Next, I went to work on my koi fish.  It brought back such wonderful memories of our beautiful koi pond we had when we lived in South Africa :-)
I love colour layering stamps. The images become more and more real with every layer you add.  After it was all stamped, I used the matching die set to cut out the koi fish.

I wanted some water lilies to finish my card, but needed something a little bigger than the lilies that come with the koi fish set.  After looking through my stash of dies, I decided to use the water lily sets from Marianne Designs.  Now, remember that although Dies R Us don't carry Marianne Design dies on a permanent basis, they every so often, run a big sale on international dies. During these times, you will find dies from companies such as Marianne Designs, Lea'bilities, Joy Crafts and many others. The best way to know about these fabulous sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will be able to enter your email address and be put on their mailing list.

To finish off my card, I carried the same theme onto the inside. I cut, embossed and sponged another Center Oval frame and another large water lily. The sentiments are all stamped using the Memento Teal Zeal ink and are all from the Hero Arts Koi stamp set.

Now for a quick recap of all the dies I used:

Elegant Red and White Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!
It's Christi and today I am going to show you a fairly simple card that looks elegant (and just maybe expensive!)  I hope you enjoy it!

Before I get started on the details I wanted to tell you that this card is 5" x 7", which is larger than my typical card, which are either A2 (5 1/5" x 4 1/4") or occasionally square, which, for me typically runs 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  I had considered trimming the die down but I am very glad I didn't.  Sometimes life calls for a big card and this is one of those times.

What I Used to Make My Card:
White Card Base, 5" x 7"
White & Red Cardstock
Tattered Lace Rose Panel, #D307
Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Embossing Powder, white
Nuvo Crystal Drops in White

This is my very first Tattered Lace die and it is amazing! The details are so pretty and delicate, I took a close up picture so you could see the flowers that are etched on the "long" side of the die.  I wanted to keep this card simple so all the flowers would be the focal point.  And while I made this a birthday card, you could certainly change the color and/or sentiment to read however you want.

First I die cut the main panel out of white card and layered in onto some red cardstock.  Then I cut the Memory Box die out twice from red.  I centered the main panel and attached the two side panels.  Lastly, I used the same red card and white embossing powder to have the Quietfire Design sentiment become a focal point.  I was going to use two white brads to hold the sentiment, but I made a bunch of my own Nuvo Crystal dots and used them in place. Thank you so much for reading my post, have a wonderful day! Christi

Seas & Greetings!

Hi crafty friends!
Stacey back with you today to share a card that I created using some fabulous dies that can be found in the Dies R Us Store

I love interactive cards and was so super excited to give the

I started out by cutting out all my panels in some fun patterned papers and a coordinating solid:

I then figured out which patterned papers I wanted to use and placed then onto my solid cardstock and adhered my panels together.

Now came the fun part! I cut out some fun nautical pieces from the Nautical die set from Cutter Bee and some scallops from the Accordion Circle Card set  and started decorating my panels.

Here is what my finished card looks like:

I stamped my greeting onto a banner from the Banners die set from Cutter Bee and finished off my card with a couple of sequins and some paper buttons. I think it came out so cute and it was really simple to put together. I love all things nautical!

Here is a view from the top:

Here is a quick peek (with links) to the products that I used on my card today that can be found in the Dies R Us store:

Oriental Fan Birthday Card

Hello Dies R Us friends!
Debbie with you today and I'm sharing a new card  for Dies R Us.

This card is a fun card that features a fun die by Tutti Designs
called the Oriental Fan.

For this Card I started out by stamping the large flourish and adding embossing powder and heat embossing.
The second step is to  color the background.  I used gelatos to color in the background.
Using the Oriental Fan Die  I cut on fan from gold foil card stock and adhered it to the front corner of the card.

Add your sequins to embellish.

Giving cards is one of the most personal, thoughtful and encouraging
things you can do for a friend or loved one.  All too often
people send a text or use social media to send
sentiments to people who sometimes could use a little more
personal encouragement.

The smile on a friend or family members face is worth it!
Dies R Us has so many fun dies for all occasions, be sure to stop by
and check those out too!

inspire you to create your own beautiful projects!!

Realistic Florals

I cannot think of anything more fun to do that make a flower out of paper and make it look real.  Either with coloring or, as I have done, with dies. Barbara Campbell here with a
card made with the Elizabeth Dies, called Aster.  I remember these in my parents garden every year. I must tell you that I liked this card well enough, but as I was sharing it with you today, I thought there is a better way.
                                                                  Here is my card.
The flower looks a little stick like.  I had die cut lots of these flowers and leaves and here is what I did. After coloring all of the pieces, I brought them to my sponge pad, the one that I use to shape flowers and leaves.
Using my stylus, I scored the back of the flowers and the leaves, giving them a more realistic look.  You can see the difference here.

See how much better the leaves look here.
Now I have another set of Asters to make another card.  Consider making your flowers look more real, it is pretty simple and I am sure that you can do it.

Here are the supplies that I used.
