Hello Friend!

How Grateful Am I For you?

Hi everyone!  Thanks for visiting!  Today I have  wonderful slimline card inspired but the latest set of images from Lawn Fawn.  I saw the Let's go nuts set and some of the images begged to be used for an interactive slider card.  So I used the slimline dies to make this whole thing work.

Sometimes we have to let people know just how grateful we really are for them and this is a great way to do it.  Get your supplies together and lets get crafting!

Let The Fall Begin!

The image coloring is super easy for this and does not require a lot of blending.

Squirrels & Nuts: E31, E35, E29
Wagon: R46, RV69 C4, C6
I colored in the (1) Nutty Squirrel, (1) Lazy Squirrel, (1) Pulling Squirrel, (1) wagon, (3) Acorn Piles and (5) Single Acorns.

Once you have your items colored, you can start to prepare the card items next. Using smaller of the two dies from the Large Slimline Die set, cut out 1 - Apple Green and 1- White.  I used the Grassy Hillside Border Dies to die cut along my apple green slimline cut out.  Then I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to add some color to the white cardstock.  I could have used a light blue cardstock, but I like the slightly muddled effect on the white cardstock.

Die cut out two Birch Trees out of craft cardstock.  On one of the Tumbled Glass cut outs, adhere the birch tree at far ends (cut off any hangover) and then the grassy hill cut out with liquid glue.

Now that the scene is set, its time to cut out the slider section using the straight slider piece from the Large Slimline Die set.   Set the slider piece between the two birch trees.

Use this as a guide on the back side of the other Tumbled Glass cut out.  With a pencil mark the ends of the slider cut out.  then using a ruler, mark vertically about 1/4" from each of the slider demarcations.  Then mark horizontally about 1/4" from the top and bottom of the same demarcations.  This will be a guide for cutting out a small rectangle to measure 1" x 1/4"

Once the piece is prepared, trim a 1" strip of the sheet protector.  make sure you cut at the bottom to make two smooth pieces.  From there insert one of the pieces into font of the slots on the front side of the card.  Then flip it over and cut a smaller piece of the sheet protector to link the two ends together. Use double sided tape to adhere the ends together. Set aside for later.

Using the larger of the slimline card dies,  I cut out a piece of orange plaid paper.  I felt this paper set the mood for fall.  As you can see I also cut out a slider piece from the center.  This is because I will use that cut out later.  This section will be hidden as we go.  Adhere this down to your card base. (8 1/2" x 3 1/2").

Die cut two more slider pieces out of white card stock.  Layer the plaid piece on top of the two white pieces using liquid glue.  This will create stability and strength to your pull tab.  Put a small piece of 1/4" double sided tape on one of the ends.  As this will then adhere to the back side of the slider card.  Make sure that the pieces of the joined sheet protector on on the end of the pull tab.  You will then take a 1/4" x 1 1/2" piece of white cardstock and create a neck piece for the tab.  This will then be glued down in place so that it is closer to the edge of the card.

Ready to set our moving piece in place.  using 1/4" foam tape in a single layer, adhere it to the card base in the center.  Be sure to keep the moving elements clear of the foam tape.  Line the back of the scene cover piece around all the edges with 1/4" foam tape.  Set this piece over the moving elements.  Give this a test by pulling on the tab.

Now add the images to the scene.  using liquid glue adhere the wagon, lazy squirell and acorn piles together and then line the top and bottom with glue only so that it sits over the slider opening.  Do the same with the pulling squirrel so and set it so that it the hand of the squirrel is pulling the wagon.  Using a doubled ups piece of 1/4" foam tape about 1/4" wide set that down on the opposite end of the track.

Give the pull tab a test and place the foam tape as close to the pulling squirrel as possible and set the nutty squirrel onto the foam.  I used the " Hello, Friend" sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it down to make a banner.  set this next to the birch tree on the left.  Then stamp the sentiment "I'm Grateful For You" on the inside of the card.

Viola!  you are now done!
