A Fun Creation and NEWS!

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
It's Darlene with you today!   Before I share another inspiration sample using dies from the fabulous Dies R Us store, I'd like to share some news with you that is both sad &  happy!

It's hard to believe this fabulous team has been sharing amazing creations with you each and every day for the past 6 months and now that their term has come to an end, I'm thrilled to say that most of the team will be staying on for a second term ... but sad to tell you that two of our very talented, dedicated team mates will be leaving us.

We would like to extend THE BEST  OF EVERYTHING to
Donna Ellis and Olivia Marmara  ... we will miss you!

On a happier note we'd like to extend a warm welcome
to the newest member of the team ...

Alicia O'Bryant

Here's a few words from Alicia . . .
I am married with one teenage son and currently live in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I am originally from Georgia where most of my family still resides.  I have been crafting since childhood.  I made beaded jewelry for over 25 years while participating in hundreds of art shows and selling to art galleries and retail shops.  I have been stamping for even longer but once I was introduced to scrap booking in the late 1990's paper crafting took on a whole new meaning. I currently enjoy making cards, scrapbooks, mini albums and mixed media/altered items.  I will also still make some jewelry on occasion. Other than paper crafting I enjoy concerts, hiking, camping, vacationing and spending time with my family and furbaby.  I am very excited to be working on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog Design Team.

Now, onto today's card creation.
I'm working very hard at being ahead of the rush this year with my holiday cards so here's another one to add to my stack.  There are so many awesome holiday dies available at the Dies R Us Store which makes it quick an easy to make a fabulous card in just a little time.  Today I decided to combine a few of these fabulous dies onto one creation.

The dies I have used on today's card are:

Sue Wilson Festive Collection - Poinsettia Mini Background #CED3049
Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Poinsettia Mini Background
Tutti Designs - Gifts under the Tree #TUTTI-131
Tutti Designs - Dies - Gifts Under The Tree
Cheery Lynn Designs - Merry Christmas #B186
Cheery Lynn Designs - Merry Christmas Set

I actually had a few die cuts laying on my work table just waiting to be used and this beautiful Tutti Designs tree happened to be one of them.  A lot of times when I receive my dies I will do a quick cut from white card stock (anxious to see what it looks like cut out, lol) and then I can add color as needed.  Today I wanted to keep some of the white showing through on the tree so simply sponged on a little green ink.

A Christmas card just doesn't seem complete sometimes without a touch of sparkle so I turned to my Stickles box and added red to the berries in the frame and ribbons on the packages under the tree.  Then some Diamond Stickles to help decorate the tree.

To add extra dimension to the sentiment, I die cut it twice ... once in white and once in red ... then carefully layered one atop the other for a nice shadowing effect.  What do you think?

Please remember, each an every day of the month there's a new inspiration sample shared here on the blog by this fabulous design team.  Please be sure to pop in regularly.

And, don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.
