Fall card set

Hiya!  Kristina H. here today to share a set a fall cards I made.  Yep, I'm still holding on to fall.  I mean, it is only the beginning of November.  Lots of time left before I have to start thinking about the white stuff falling from the sky!

I have lots of information to share with you guys.  I do have to say that I had a ton of fun making these.  I really wanted to use the Bo Bunny Dreams of Autumn paper pad for all six of the cards I created.  It was hard to narrow it down to just six pieces of paper!

The very first thing I did was to rummage through my stash of dies.  I pulled lots of different ones that I thought would make great fallish cards.  Along with several different sentiments.  You can see my pile of goodies below.

And here is the cardstock colors I pulled to use.

I pulled out the six pieces of Bo Bunny paper I wanted to use and cut a square out of each one.  I used the largest die from Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched nesting squares.   Now I had six empty squares staring at me.  I dug through the colored cardstock and found colors that matched nicely.  I then cut a 3 3/4" square out of each of the colored cardstock I selected.  I glued the patterned paper on top and went back to thinking.

To be honest, I didn't have any real plan so I just started grabbing dies and laying them out on the different patterned paper squares.  I moved them around until I was happy with the designs on each card.  I will talk you through each of the cards as I made them.

The fox card.  I pulled a solidish piece of orange paper out of the Bo Bunny pad.  I used the Frantic Stamper "Just Because" die to cut out the sentiment from the orange paper.  I also cut it out two more times with a cream colored cardstock.  I glued the three layers together.  On the orange layer, I went over it with a Wink of Stella marker to give it shimmer.  For added shine, I also went over the top with glossy accents.  As soon as it was dry I glued it onto the fox paper.  I used an offwhite cardstock to create a 4"x 4" card base.  Sponged a little rust ink along the edges and glued the pattern piece on top.  Done!  Note:  All finished cards are 4"x 4" and the colored layers are 3 3/4" x 3 3/4".

The striped leaf card.  I cut the leaf out with a die from Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves set.  I then sponged it with brown and green inks along all of the outer edges and a little bit in the center.  I splattered gold paint onto the striped paper and the leaf.  While they were drying, I used the Lawn Fawn Thank You Border die to cut the sentiment out of a darker green cardstock.  I sponged a little bit of white ink at the bottom to give it a little more dimension.  Then I glued both die pieces onto the striped base, the light green layer and the pale yellow card base.  I did sponge the edges of the card base and the colored layer.  Finished!

The brown friend card.  I cut three leaves out of pale yelow cardstock using a die from the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves die set.  I cut off all of the stems.  I clustered them together and glued them once I was happy with the arrangement.  I used the Friends die from Lawn Fawn and cut one out in brown and one in light green.  I used a bit of a rub on gold paint all over the brown die cut to give it lots of shimmer.  I glued it onto the green die cut just a little bit off center so it appears as if the green one is a shadow.  I then glued the friend die cut right on top of the yellow leaves.  You guessed it.  A little sponging on all the layers, glued to a yellow layer and then the brown card base.  Voila!

The green squirrel card.  This one was super fast to put together.  I cut out the squirrels using an Impression Obsession die from brown paper.  I cut the Happy Birthday using a die from Frantic Stamper from ivory paper.  I sponged a bit of dark green ink on the bottom portion of the Happy Birthday.  I just like the effect it gives!  On the top portion of the Happy Birthday I went over it with my latest addiction.  The Midas Touch shimmer marker from Nuvo.  It is like their original Glitter Gloss marker but instead of a cool silver shimmer it is gold!  Love it!  I layered the squirrels and the sentiment so it looks like the squirrels are interacting with it.  More sponging on all the layers.  Glued the green patterned paper onto a green layer and then on to an ivory base.  Bam!

The hedgehog card.  This one was also quick and easy to put together.  I'm totally gaga over the little hedgehog die!  First I cut out the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn Thanks Line Border die out of gold glitter cardstock.  I glued it closer to the bottom of the patterned paper.  Next I cut out the hedgehog using Yvonne Creations Autumn Colors Forest Animals dies.  The die itself has little holes in it for embossing but I found you can also use it for coloring!  I left the die in place and dabbed some brown ink through the holes with a sponge.  Instant texture!  I sponged around the edges with brown ink and added a nose and the eye with a black glaze gelly roll pen.  I glued him right on the line of the sentiment so it looks like he's standing on it.  I just love this guy!  For some more interest I added a couple of drops of Honey Gold Nuvo glitter drops.  I also added little touches of the Midas Touch glitter marker to some of the pinecones and the acorns on the patterned paper.  Sponging on all the layers again.  Glued the pinecone paper to a brown layer and then onto the ivory card base.  Only one card to go!

The pumpkin card.  Is it possible for my cards to get even easier?  I used the Lacey Pumpkin die from Cheapo dies to cut a pumpkin out of a thick, white cardstock.  I sponged over the main pumpkin area with orange ink, the stem with brown ink and the leaf with green ink.  I went over several of the areas with the Midas Touch Nuvo marker.  Then (because I must be crazy) I cut lots of little, itty-bitty pieces of foam tape to put behind the pumpkin.  I just felt it showed up better being popped up.  Sponged my layers one more time!  Glued the dotted piece onto an orange layer and onto a green card base.  That's it!

Whew!  Are you guys still with me?  If you are, I've got a video showing you the products I used and I talk through each card.
