Sea Shells by the Shore

It's Barbara Campbell with you today showing a card inspired by the beautiful beaches here in Florida. I am having a lot of fun with these layering dies.  Yes, that is what I said.  I know that you have all heard of layering stamps..... well these are layering dies.  Here, let me show you by card.

I got the dies for this card a while ago and was not sure what I would be making.   So I just die cut them all from white water color paper.  I'm sure that I would be water coloring them.
After I selected the ones that I would use on my card, I saved the others for another time.  You will see them soon.
Coloring them was fun.
I left the top layer white in some cases and colored the crab and star fish.

I scored a piece of cardstock at half inches to look like wood and used distress ink to color it.  Then tore the edge and swiped more ink on the edge.  I got some  rugged looking wood.  That went on a white base card and I arranged my sea shells on the front.  I added some twine and a little tag and then the sentiment from Power Poppy Natural Beauties and Good Thinking.

Don't forget the inside.  Some scoreing on the left side and bottom and one more sea shell.

Here are the dies that I used.
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Shells Small

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Shells Large
Impression Obsession - Dies - Foliage

You will have as much fun this these dies as I did, I guarantee it.

  6. I have always liked the torn edges on a card and this is the perfect card for that treatment and paired with the wood background another favorite of mine it is perfect for those darling shells. I like the sentiment in the corner and the leaves tucked under the shells. Great card for a guy or girl.
