Gift Box of Cards

This post is a bit bitter sweet today as it's my last one being on the Dies R Us Design Team.  I've really enjoyed my time here and loved using dies carried in this store.  It's been a wonderful experience and a wonderful opportunity!

My project today features some super fun Lawn Fawn products!

First, I used the Gift Box Dies to cut two colors of cardstock for the top and bottom of my box.  It was so easy to assemble by folding on the scored edges and adhering the ends together.

Next, I used the corner dies cut from blue cardstock and adhered to the corners box top then layered blue cardstock and a pattern design from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Chill paper pad for the top.

The band and bow dies - also included in the Box Die set - were used to cut from another pattern design from the from Perfectly Plaid Chill paper pad.

Once the box was created, I made several cards to place in the box.  Each card measures 3 1/2" x 5".

I used the following Lawn Fawn products to create the cards:

 Toboggan Together Stamps & Dies
Gift Box Dies (words)

This project would make a cute gift for a friend or Secret Santa!

Ugly Sweaters are Coming!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Kathy here to say while I'm not trying to rush through the upcoming holidays, but I'm kinda excited that it'll be Ugly Sweater Season soon!  Actually, I'm just looking forward to being able to wear sweaters. Period  It's been unbearably hot and humid here :)

Elizabeth Craft Designs has a wonderful Winter Sweater die set that is perfect for ugly sweaters, but also great for any holiday sweater card or gift tag!

I chose to use the sweater die to cut designs from Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus paper pad.  The patterns are so bright and festive!

I love this Sizzix Tim Holtz Holiday Words set...it contains 17 holiday words and are perfect for any of the projects I make during the season.

Are you looking forward to Ugly Sweater season?!  Even if you prefer something more 'subtle', I know you'll have lots of creative fun with these awesome products!

Celebrate!

August is a month of celebrations!  Oh, and not to mention my birthday is in August :)  This darling Pink & Main Box Card die is perfect for any celebration or occasion!  Here's how I created my celebration box...
1)  Cut two sides, fold on the scores and adhere together at the tabs.

2) Cut the inside tab, fold on the scores and adhere to the inside of the box lengthwise.

3)  Cut pattern paper (I used Pink & Main Be Brave Paper Pad) for the front, sides and inside flaps.

4)  Cut out the other elements to be placed on the inside of the box using cardstock and assorted pattern paper.

The great thing about this fun surprise box is that it folds down and will fit perfectly in an invitation envelope!

Puppy Love

It's not often I make cards for kids...we only have a few little ones in the family, but I couldn't resist this little puppy die which I felt was perfect for a child :)

For my card, I started by layering a few patterns from Doodlebug Designs Puppy Love paper pad - so cute with great patterns and fabulous bright colors.

I then used Frantic Stampers Rover Puppy Love dies to cut one of the patterns in the paper pad and layered little rover on a dotted circle die cut from Tutti Designs.  Then, I cut the words in this die set from black cardstock.  Super easy card!

Here are the products used:

Tutti Designs - Dotted Nesting Circles

Celebration Cupcakes

Celebrations almost always include some sort of sweet.  In recent years, cupcakes have been the perfect sweet and for those trying to watch the calories, mini cupcakes are the perfect thing!

For my card today, I chose some yummy mini cupcake dies that come with the perfect little stand from Impression Obsession.  To start, I layered a light blue cardstock and a pattern paper design from Doodlebug Cream & Sugar.  Using one of the dies from
Tutti Designs Nesting Dotted Oval Dies, I cut a paper pattern design from Lawn Fawn Spring Perfectly Plaid Spring paper pad.

I then cut the stand from white cardstock and the cupcake bottom and tops from different colored cardstock.  I attached the tops and bottoms, arranged them on the stand and used pop up dots to adhere them all.  The sentiment is one of the word dies from Karen Burniston Birthday dies.   The silver oval at the bottom is also included in the Impression Obsession Cupcake Stand die and can be used as a shadow or plate under the cupcake.
