I have been on a roll lately making banners and non-card projects. On to all the juicy details with lots of photos!
I did have to do a bit of extra planning for this project but it was totally worth it. I started by using some cheap paper to cut out my banners and letters. I needed to see if the stamps and dies I had picked out were going to fit alright.
I laid them out on the floor and then added the actual dies and stamps to give me a rough idea. Next I picked out all of my papers and got to cutting.
Here are the banners put together after I sponged the edges with ink and added the ivory hearts.
On to gluing all of the critter pieces together.
I then stamped the koala, flamingo and octupus onto Ivory cardstock with a Copic safe ink. I forgot to write down the colors I used. Sorry about that! After they were colored I cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I got down to putting everything together!
Here are close up shots of the letters as they were completed.
Here they are all together.
I used an 1/8" hole punch to cut the holes for the ribbon. I then threaded a cream color 1/4" sheer ribbon through all of the pieces. They were staying in place so I didn't have to add any adhesives. For a few finishing touches I added Nuvo Jewel drops in Strawberry, Rosewater and Key Lime. These particular ones aren't in the Dies R Us store but there are tons of other colors that would work just as well. I'll link to them in the supply list below. I also added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter marker to all of the letters to add a little bit of bling.
And one close up picture before I go.
This beauty is now hanging up in my living room!
