Seed Packets

Good Monday Morning!

Donna Phelan back again to share a little Spring time fun!

A little something about me, I love to craft AND I love to garden, so when the two can be combined it is pure JOY!  If I can't have ink under my fingernails, I don't mind a wee bit of dirt.

Today's project is making seed packets.  So FUN!

When using my Envelope Board Maker they become so easy to whip up.

I started with a 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 inch piece of Kraft card stock and using my Envelope Board I scored at the 3 inch mark, rounding the corners as I went.  Sealed with a bit of Scor Tape.
This made a  3  3/4 x  4  3/4 inch sized envelope, the perfect size for slipping in a Burpee Seed Packet.

I decided I wanted to make a string closure on the back.  Spellbinders Scallop Circle dies cut from thick chipboard and pink card stock.  Eyelets and Jute Twine.  I thought I would need 3 Dimensionals, but decided there was no need.

Using the Eyelets to add the Scallop Circles die, I ensured that they would stay put when opening and closing with the Jute Twine.  Very sturdy!

I stamped an old seed packet image and sentiment on to the Kraft card stock in Black Licorice ink.

Adding just the right flower to decorate the packet was the hardest choice.  So many pretty flowers to chose from at the Dies R Us Store.  I finally decided upon these beautiful Garden Notes Zinnia from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I cut them out of some pretty felt I found in my stash in orange and pink and layered them together.  The leaves are by Paper Smooches, Foliage 1 cut in the pretty green felt.  Both of these dies are amazing and cut through the felt like buttah....oops my Boston accent is showing.  They are crisp and clean, even in felt.

I also added a bit of the Crystal Drops for centers.  Tip:  Felt is porous and the Crystal Drops will not hold their shape.  However, I do like how they look.

If there's a happy gardener in your life these make sweet little gifts.  Precious Shower Favors, or added to Spring and Easter Baskets.

I really love the rustic simplicity of these seed packets, hope you do too!
