I love the look of lattice on a card, so when I saw these two Sue Wilson die's I knew I had to get them. The background is the Striplets - Lattice Window die and the oval is the Festive Collection - Lattice Snowflake.
The Lattice Window die is 6.1" high; that makes for a large card. I wanted to keep my card as close to an A2 as possible, so I cut the Lattice Window die down to shorten it. This simply meant cutting it and layering it back on top of itself:
I made a cut right on one of the "joints" along the sides where the 4 skinny rectangles are. For demonstration purposes, I did not cut the lattice into these yet.
The above shows how I layered the striplets back onto themselves to shorten them. If your lattice doesn't line up perfectly, you could cut out an entire section of the striplet and shorten it that way also.
For the oval, I cut the Lattice Snowflake oval and layered it on top of a black solid oval, using the other die that comes in the Lattice Snowflake set:
Covering the snowflakes on this die was easy. I used the Sue Wilson Finishing Touches - Perfect Peony Complete Petals die set.
The word "hugs" is from the Frantic Stamper Valentine Confetti set. That tiny word die fits perfectly inside the oval and is my "go to" die for a lot of cards.
I can't wait to use this Lattice Snowflake die again come winter time, but not wishing colder weather on anyone. We've had our share of that this year.
