Colorful Birthday

 Hello Die R Us Friends,

Diane here today to share some Birthday card inspiration.  I have created a lovely simple Birthday card that is easy, fun and sure to impress.  Come take a look.

This card uses basic shapes to form a pleasing and easy to create design. This card measures 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, a standard A2 size.  The dies I used are from Lawn Fawn and Elizabeth Crafts Designs and you can purchase them from Dies R Us. Below is a photo of all the supplies I used for this card design.

You Donut Even Know

 Hi Dies R Us Fans!

Today I am sharing a cute birthday card made with darling Mama Elephant products that are available in the Dies R Us store.  Here is my card:

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base
Watercolor Paper
Zig
Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink
Hero Arts Ultra Fine White Embossing Powder
Light Purple Card
Sizzix/Tim Holtz Beaded Garland Embossing Folder, #660041
Mama Elephant Donut Treats Stamps
Mama Elephant Donut Treats Dies
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
Half Pearls {stash}
Dimensional Dots

I began this card by stamping, coloring and cutting out the mice and the donuts.  Setting them aside, I embossed a piece of light purple card {there are SO many embossing folders available in the Dies R Us store; I have some on order but haven't gotten them yet} using an embossing folder and then embossed the sentiment using ultra fine white embossing powder.

I used some pastel colored half pearls I had in my stash to add some interest and to act as some sprinkles on the donuts, gluing them down with adhesive. Lastly, I used dimensional dots to attach the elements and then glued the the entire piece onto a white card base.  Between the embossing folder, the half pearls and the dimensional dots this card has a lot of character, but it was difficult to get a good picture of both the front and of the dimension so I have included a view that shows it all off.  Just click on the picture and it should open up in another screen big enough to see.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope the world is opening up a bit where you are but please, stay safe! See you soon and until next time, happy crafting! Christi

Slimline Confetti Birthday Card

Hi everyone!  Lisa here with a fun and springy slimline birthday card!  I have to say that I was originally going to make this card is more jewel tones, but then we got snow in April and I was like, SPRING!  I made the focal layer of my card out of scraps, believe it or not.

So I started out with all these scraps from some baby cards I made for a friend.  You can't really tell in the photo but they're pastel shimmery card stock, not too heavyweight, so they're perfect for layering and then die cutting.

The strips vary in size from about an eighth of an inch to maybe five eights of an inch.  You can use any size for this technique, I just like the look of different sizes.  I'm going to be cutting this background with my Catherine Pooler Slimline Flurries die.  I wanted to use this because a) I love this die and don't just wanna use it at Christmastime and b) I totally think it looks like confetti!  This background is rather detailed, so I used a very lightweight (65lb) white cardstock to build my background on.  I cut it slightly bigger than my die, 8.75" by 3.75", and covered it with 1/2" Scor Tape.

You can see where I wrinkled the tape on the end, but it won't matter because the whole thing will be covered in cardstock and then die cut.  I feel like die cutting helps to push the paper into the tape.

I kept every single dot that I punched out of this background and the die.  I want to use them for a shaker card in the future.

I cut my Impression Obsession Happy Birthday die out of silver glitter cardstock that has 1/2" Scor Tape on the back so it's already adhesive.  Love love love my Scor Tape!  I layered foam tape behind the die cut panel before adhering it to some silver glitter cardstock.  I like how the silver behind the stripes almost gives a faux shaker look.

So these balloons were a last minute addition.  I forgot to take a photo of the die cutting but I used the Lawn Fawn Outside In Balloons die set for these.  I used the smallest balloon and both strings, then added the largest bow.  I didn't put Scor Tape on the back of the balloons because I wasn't sure if I was going to pop any of them up with foam tape or not, but I did put it on the rose gold foil I used for the strings and bow.  Made adhering those teeny tiny strings a breeze.

I hope this inspires you to dig through your scraps and see what kind of backgrounds you can create.  Have a crafty day!  --Lisa

Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone.

It is Alycia from Let's Get Crafty.  I have been super busy creating cards.  We are still on lockdown. Next month will be Christmas cards.

So many people have been making rainbow cards. I found this way to create a rainbow without a rainbow die.  I used the Lawn Fawn Large dotted circle stackable.  I used Neenah white Cardstock 80lb.  Using Tim Holtz Distress ink, Barn red, Carved pumpkin and squeezed lemonade.  The nice thing about this is that you can have two or even four rainbows. Using the biggest stackable circle cut one out of white card stock so you can glue your circle onto to it.

After you ink and glue your circles back on the I used stickles on the rainbow and let it dry.

I decided we need clouds I used Cloudy Hillside Pop-up Add-on die from Lawn Fawn. This makes excellent clouds.

I hope you enjoy this card I had so much fun with the rainbows.  I hope you try this technique.  It was so fun.  Everyone Stay Safe and take care.

I hope I've provided some inspiration for you to
play and create with your dies and we'd love for you
to come and join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
