Christmas Birds

Hello crafting friends. Lena here today sharing another Christmas card with you.

As you know by now, I'm a huge fan of Marianne Design dies and when Dies R Us have their Special Order Sales, I tend to buy more than my fair share :-) If you love international dies or are just looking for some to complete the dies you already have, the best way to know about these amazing sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter.

So using one of Marianne's newest dies, Petra's Winter Circle, I cut out all the layers in the different colours that I had planned.

This die is gorgeous and comes with a few embellishment pieces.

After die cutting and embossing them, and while the card stock is still in the dies, I used Memento Desert Sand to add a bit of shading.

Once that was done and I had all my bits and pieces together, it was very easy and quick to assemble the card.

I picked a small greeting stamp and curved it on the stamping block so that it would take the same curve as the greeting space on the banner of the die. I could have stopped right here, but felt that I wanted to add something to the bottom of the card to balance it out.  So I grabbed another few dies, listed below, and made the little poinsettia arrangement.  I added a few gems here and there and adhered the image, which is from a die cutting sheet by Amy Design, called Warm Christmas Feelings.  For the inside, I used the fancy circle from the die to cut out the circle.  The stamped greeting from the Festive Greetings stamp set by Creative Expressions.

Here is a list of the crafty supplies used,
each linked to the Dies R Us store  for your convenience.

  1. This card is gorgeous, Lena! Love all of the different die cuts and details. Inking the pieces while they are still in the die is such a great idea. TFS!

  2. I had to pop over here and tell you how beautiful this is Lena! I too, am a big fan of Marianne Designs and you've now put this lovely die on my wish list for the next special order event. The design is stunning and I love the little poinsettias lining the bottom. Just beautiful and well done!
