Seas the Day

Happy Wednesday all you crafting friends!  Kristina Hein with you today to share a water themed shadow box card.

Here is the front.

Here is the back.

When I finally got my hands on the Shadow Box Ocean Add-On from Lawn Fawn, I knew I needed to make a shadow box card.  I have had the Shadow Box die from Lawn Fawn for quite awhile but I had never actually used it.  This seemed like the time!

There are SO many great Ocean Box cards out there and I wanted something just a little bit different.  I decided that all of my elements would be cut out of patterned paper!  The only solid cardstock I used is for the navy "box" portion of the card.  Everything else is cut from my stash of Lawn Fawn and Doodlebug paper pads.

First step is to cut out two panels from the navy cardstock to make the box.  The box portion is from the original Shadow Box die set from Lawn Fawn.  The scalloped rectangle cut out is from the Ocean Add-On set.

Next I cut out the waves.  These are part of the Ocean Add-On set.

Then I inked up the edges of the waves with Distress Inks.  I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire.  I also used Ocean Waves Accent dies to add a few more details on the waves.

Next I cut out all of the little elements I wanted to use.  The shark is from the Sea Animals set from Karen Burniston, Sea Horses from Seahorsin' Around from Lawn Fawn, and the Ocean Add-on set.  I did use some Distress Inks on these pieces as well.  Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Mowed Grass, Hickory Smoke and Peeled Paint.

Now I started to put the box together.  I did sponge white ink around the scalloped opening before I started adding in the waves.

Then I started adding the pieces.

Here is a top down view where you can see the wave layers.

I just used liquid glue to add all of the elements where I wanted them and it looked like this:

And it does fold flat to fit inside an A2 envelope!

The banner is from the Ocean Add-On die set and the sentiment is from the On the Beach stamp set.  Thanks for coming along on my mini ocean journey!
