The Lighthouse

Hello all! Donna here with a summer type project using another terrific die offered by Dies R Us.  There's something nostalgic about a lighthouse so I created this very simple card that can be used for just about any occasion.

Here are some of the supplies I used for this card and the links are listed below for ease of use.  I used several of the wonderful Oxide inks (also offered at Dies R Us), markers, bow maker and ribbon.

Your card stock should be cut as follows:
Base:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, folded in half for A2 size card
Small white layer - 3-3/4 x 5
Larger white layer (used to die cut image) 4 x 5-1/4

Using large daubers, I first blended a combination of three Oxide inks onto the smaller white card piece to resemble sky and water.  I then added stripes to my lighthouse using a red marker.  Attach die cut piece over the inked piece using The Best Glue Ever.

The last things I did were to color in the windows and roof of the lighthouse with a black fine marker and for the rocks I used a brown marker.  I then created a sweet little polka dot bow and wrapped it at the bottom of this piece.  This entire piece was attached to my card base using 3-D Foam Tape.  A last minute addition is Wink of Stella in the water area (does not pick up well on the photo above, but it's there!)  You could always add whatever sentiment to the front of your card.)

Well I hope you enjoyed this quick little tutorial.  Hop on over to Dies R Us and see the many fun tools, dies, stamps, etc. that you can get at incredible prices!

  1. I think that you could say that this is a CAS card. But that is all that you needed to make this one extremely fabulous!I adore that lone stately lighthouse and the sky background.
