Across the Miles...

Hello crafters and die-hards!  Donna here with another simple post using a really fun die purchased thru Dies R Us.  When I first saw Torrance Trees I was "underwhelmed", but purchased it anyway.  It has turned out to be a really fun die.  It says something, but nothing -- you'll see what I mean below.

To begin, you will need a base piece of card stock cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and folded in half to create an A2 size card.  Next is a white piece cut at 4 x 5-1/4. You will also need a small piece of white card stock about 1-3/4" by 4" and freehand cut to resemble a hill  The shades of Distress Oxides used are Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Bundled Sage. All other supplies will be listed below.

I started applying the ink in layers starting with Antique Linen, then Bundled Sage followed by Vintage Photo.  The layers were applied using a small sponge.  I have taken pics to show you the progression of the added layers.  Be sure and dry layers in between.

Next I sponged on several layers of Bundled Sage on the "hill" piece.

After die cutting the Torrance Trees twice, I only used three of them for this project.  I also thought the "knoll" looked a bit naked, so I glued on some of the negative pieces from the trees.  Last thing to do is add my sentiment and my twine bow!

Well there you have it.  I hope this has inspired you!
