With Sympathy

Hello DiesRUs friends and welcome back. Lena here today sharing a Sympathy card with you.
These are the hardest cards for me to make and that is because my heart is breaking thinking about the person I'm sending it to.

It's the kind of card that I never keep in my card stash, so when I need one I have to get it done fast, so I tend to keep them fairly simple.

These are the dies I used for this card:
Precious Marieke ~ Square Flowers Frame - cut in white cardstock
Memory Box ~ Vivienne Butterfly - cut in white cardstock

I thought I would share a quick pictorial of how I did the stitching on the centre opening of the card.
I used pearlised white embroidery floss.

Since this die does not come with a backing die and I wanted one to make the white stand out more, I traced the die, scanned it and imported it into my Silhouette. I offset it to .06 and cut.  It's the perfect size to leave a small edge around the die cut.

To finish off my card, I adhered the butterfly to the centre of the card and adhered the whole thing to a square 5.5" x 5.5" white card.  I added some pearls for a little extra special touch.

Although this is a Sympathy card, you can use it for any occasion. You can change the colours, the floss, add a different focal cut or image and leave out the stitching all together. The possibilities are endless with frame dies. They are a big part of my die stash :-)

I hope I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.  Be sure to Follow Us on Facebook too.

Till next time,
Crafty hugs,
