Celebrate in Style

Good morning Dies R Us friends and welcome back.  Lena here today to share a card with you that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday

I'm totally in love with the Tattered Lace Art Deco dies. I find them so stylish and easy to use :-)
So for this card, I started with the Art Deco Card die.

The way to use this die is to cut, score and fold your cardstock to create a 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" tent card base. Place the die about 1/4" over the fold and then run it through your die cutting machine.

This is what you are left with once it's cut.  Since I wanted to paper piece the pink decorative paper in the cut out slots, I made a backing mat for my inside of my card, both front and back.

In order to this, I traced the card onto black card stock and cut the shape out by hand. I've traced it onto white card stock, on the pic above, so that it shows up more clearly.  Make sure you cut a little on the inside of the line so that it does not stick out when you adhere it to the card base.

Using the Art Deco Card die again, I cut it out of the pink prism paper. By doing this, you are left with the correct sized pieces to paper piece your card on the front.  You're left with a negative cut which you can use on another card.  I punched out two little hearts and added them for a little more interest and stamped the greeting on the inside.

Once the card base was ready, I cut out Tattered Lace's Eliza, coloured her with copic markers, and used foam tape on the back to adhere her to the card base.

And there you have it ... a very stylish card that was easy to make and put together :-)

Here is a quick recap of the dies I used.

I hope I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.  Be sure to Follow Us on Facebook too.
