Come & sit a spell!

Hello again, friends!

I hope you are all enjoying these last few days of March & getting ready for some beautiful spring days! To keep in the spring mood, today I'll share a beautiful garden bench card with you. It looks really hard, I know, but I assure you it's not!  I did use a lot of different dies on this one though, so I will list those before we get started.  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Bench, Elizabeth Craft Designs Agatha Edges, Impression Obsession Small Birds, Impression Obsession Cat Set, Memory Box Puffy Clouds, Memory Box Grand Oak Tree & Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight.  I realize that sounds like a lot of dies, but the main one you will need is the garden bench. You will all want to decorate your scene the way YOU like!

Although this isn't the usual order of things, I want to start right out with the inside of the card this time.

This is a straight on shot of the inside of my card.  Below is one taken from a slight angle so you can see how beautiful the bench really is!

The beautiful thing about this entire card is that the bench folds completely flat once you close your card!
The bench die is placed on the fold of your card (any size you like) and you run it through your die cut machine. Your bench will easily fold for you and you will notice there is a hole or space behind the bench. What I did was to cut a piece of blue cardstock the same size as my card & glue it to the outside of my card. That covered the hole and gave me the illusion of blue sky. I also cut a piece of blue for the top inside of the card as well and began adding the trees, clouds, birds & grass.

This is the actual front of my card when it is closed.  As you can see, I took the Agatha Edges & cut the blue  with one of the die edges before I glued it to my white original.  I also cut out the filigree design with one of the other dies in that set for a more finished look.  The sentiment was cut with my Spellbinder A2 Filigree Delight.

There you have it! What looks like a fairly "plain" birthday card on the outside, will open up to a beautiful garden scene that will delight someone & make them feel how special they are to you!

If you haven't checked out the posts from Monday & Tuesday, be sure you go back to do that now.  Don't forget to check each day as there will be a new inspiration for you made with new dies to tempt you!  Speaking of tempting you.....better head over to Dies R Us right now to see what wonderful new dies they just got in!

I'll see you next Wednesday!  Have a wonderful, wonderful week!

  3. I LOVE this Sherri! My friend has this die and I sent a copy of your beautiful card to her so she can see how you have used it! Love the addition of our 4 legged friend and how the bench is framed with the trees. The birds, clouds and tufts of grass all create such a wonderful scene, it makes me want to hang out on that bench! LOVE this!
