Happy Saturday crafty friends!!!
Can you believe we are at the end of September already!!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting some great crafty time in!  Here is my card for today!

My card starts with a Kraft cardstock base. It is a standard A2 size and top folding. I then cut a few mats from some cream cardstock and some fun patterned paper from Doodlebug.

The main focus of my card is this beautiful Sunflower and Fence Die from Cheapo Dies. I started by cutting it out from some plain white cardstock. I then colored the various elements with my Copic Markers. I really enjoy doing this.

Here’s a closer look at a couple of the flowers. I colored the centers brown and then added some Cinnamon Stickles to the centers. I really like the texture and sparkle it gives them.  You can see I scattered a few sequins for a little extra something.

sentiment cu
I finished off my card by printing out my sentiment and then using one of the Tutti Scallop Stitched Oval Dies to cut it out. I added a border of some buttery yellow ribbon with a bow and all done!!!

Daisies Die Card by Melinda

Happy Saturday crafty friends!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start and you are getting some crafty time in! Today I am sharing a pretty card I created.

Here’s a look at my completed card. I began with a Kraft Cardstock base. It is an A2 size and top folding. Next I added a mat from some Bazzill cardstock in a pretty peachy pink tone. I used my Chestnut Roan Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink to ink the edges of all my mats to give them a slight vintagey look.

daisy die cut cu
The focal point of my card is this pretty Daisy Die from Cheapo Dies. I started by cutting it out of some plain white cardstock. I then proceeded to color it with my various Copic Markers. I kind of messed up the stem and ended up going with some darker greens to cover them up…lol! Once I finished coloring it, I added some Fruit Punch Stickles to the centers of the main blooms. I cut a couple of mats from some pretty Prima Marketing paper I had in my stash.

nuvo drops cu
I then layered my smaller mat onto a scallop rectangle stitched die and then mounted my die cut onto that. In this photo you can see that I used my  Nuvo Jewel Drops and some pretty Sequins to add some bells and whistles.

sentiment cu
I then added a sentiment and inked the edges with my Chestnut Roan to really give it a distressed look and so the white wouldn’t be so stark.

Pocket Bouquet Card by Melinda

Happy Saturday crafty friends!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting your craft on! Today I am sharing this fun card I created.
flowers in pocket die card
Here is a look at my completed card. I started with an A2 white cardstock base that is top folding. I added a mat of some buttery yellow cardstock and then used some pretty floral pattened paper for the top mat.

flower pocket die cu
The main focal image of my card ispatternedvely and fun pocket of flowers die from Cheapo Dies. I cut it out of plain white cardstock and then colored it with my Copic markers.  That seems to be a favorite technique of mine these days. I layered the finished die cut onto two layers of the oval scallop stitched dies. The top one I very lightly used my pebble chalks to color a very subtle yellow.

flowers cuAfter I finished coloring in my image, I added sequins to the center of each flower and then a little line of sequins on the stitching of the pocket.

sentiment cu
I added in a fun little sentiment off to the side.

bow cu
I finished off the card with a border of some pretty fuchsia ribbon and a bow.

You're Special Apple Die Cut Card by Melinda

Hello DRU friends!
I hope you are having a great weekend so far and that it includes a little crafty time in! Today I am sharing a card I created with a “school theme”.
apple with worm card
Here’s a look at my completed card. It is an A2 size with a kraft cardstock base. It is a top folding card.  I then cut a mat from some plain white cardstock and then used some pretty patterned papers from Pebbles Inc and Doodlebug.

apple with worm cu
The star of this show is this adorable Bitten Apple Die from Cheapo Dies. I cut it out in white cardstock as well as some patterned papers. I then pieced all of the pieces together. I used my inks to ink my little worm and a Copic marker to color in the stem. For his eyes, I used some Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I matted all of that onto some yellow cardstock and then put all of that onto a square stitched scallop die from Tutti Designs.

I added a fun little sentiment I created and printed off on my computer.

border and bow
I added a border of green cardstock down the middle and then wrapped a cute little bow to finish it off.

Double Heart Frame Card by Melinda

Happy Saturday crafty friends!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I am sharing my card over on the Dies R’ Us blog! Here is what I came up with.
double heartMy card starts with an A2 card base. It is in horizontal position. I then used some dark brown cardstock for a mat. The patterned paper is from Prima Marketing 6x6 Paper Pad.

IMG_2802
Here’s a closer look at the main die cuts. They are some pretty heart frame die cuts made with the Cheapo Dies Heart Frame Die. I started by cutting them out in plain white cardstock. I then colored them with my Bronze Metallic Sharpie Marker. I layered two together so there would be a little thickness to them. I did this because I used some Liquid Glass to fill in the centers. This gave them a glass-like look.  Once they were dry, I used some Ebony Jewel Drops from Nuvo to put some accents in the flowers.

keys cu
For a little extra bells and whistles, I used a little skeleton key set and hung it from a piece of cardstock. I used a little brad for an extra decorative touch.

you and me
Here’s a closer look at my sentiment. It is an old stamp I had in my stash and I stamped it with some Black Ink. In this photo you can also see that I inked the edges of the patterned paper to give the mat a little bit of a distressed look.

Here is one last look at my completed card. I think it will work perfect for an anniversary card or even a friendship card for that special bff in your life!

Birdcage Thank You Card by Melinda

Happy Saturday crafty friends,
Today I am sharing a pretty card I made featuring the Cheapo Dies Birdcage Die.

IMG_2360bb3

I started with an A2 card base of white cardstock. It is top folding.  I then added a thin mat of gray cardstock and then some deep Navy Blue. The pretty papers are from Kaiser Craft.

IMG_2372
The star of the card is this gorgeous die from Cheapo Dies. I cut it out a couple of times in White cardstock and then layered them to give the die cut the slightest bit of dimension. I used some Stickles to outline the pretty roses toward the bottom of the die.

IMG_2374
I mounted the die onto an Oval Scallop Stitched die from Tutti Designs. I added a bit of white twine to the top with a bow as a finishing touch. The sentiment came in the paper pad. Lastly, I added a few Silver Dew Drops from the Robin’s Nest for a decorative touch.

Here is one final look at my card. I love to create cards with layers and the pretty patterned papers in the collection made it a snap.
