You're Magical

Hi Everyone!  Monica from HeartcraftPaper I'm so glad that you could join us today at Dies R Us!  I'm excited to share with you a lovely little card that I hope inspires some happiness and brings a bit of joy into your day.  With all that we have going on around us, it's extremely important to see the good in things and smile often.

Today I'm using a cute die from Tutti Designs.  It's the most adorable unicorn die and I found to be perfect for the quilting Technique.  This will be my focal point for this card.

Supplies:

2 - 3.5 in x3.5 in size White Cardstock
 1 - 3.5 in x 3.5 in Black Cardstock
Clear Wrapping Tape
Liquid Glue
Double Sided Tape
3D Foam
Lilac Floss
Scissors
Needle
Glue Dots

First die cut the Unicorn Head Die out of white cardstock.

Next, create a rainbow on the second piece of white cardstock using Distress Oxide.
Then die cut the Unicorn Head.  We will be keeping the negative pieces for this.
Set aside the actual unicorn piece for future use.

Now, place the white die cut face down and insert the rainbow negative pieces into their allocated spots.  This will now make it easier to tape up if you don't have to flip over the piece. As you go begin to tape your pieces in place so they do move.

Place the die cut facing up (flat side down) on the black cardstock.
Using a pencil trace around the die.  No need to trace the inner portions.

Once cut out, adhere the Unicorn Head to the black cut out with double sided tape.
Use liquid tape on the areas that didn't have double sided tape to make it stay down.

Moving on to the Background of the card.  I die cut white cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables  and then used Distress Oxide (Tumbled Glass) to add color to it since I did not have the exact color I wanted in my stash.

Make clouds for the background using iridescent mylar paper with the Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Border Dies.  Die cut white cardstock as well to allow the iridescence to show off better.  Using small glue dots down the center of each cloud piece, adhered the white card stock to the iridescent mylar.

Using lilac floss, sew all along the boarder using the die piercings.  Start in the lower right corner, all around and finish off with a bow.

Attached the blue background to the A2 card base using double sided foam.
Using more of the double sided foam attach the unicorn piece to the center and 1/2" from the top of the card.

Using the Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banner Dies, die cut using the second die for a hand written sentiment.  I figured "You're Magical" would fit the card theme perfectly.

Finally add a few simple embellishments with some iridescent sequins.  Use small glue dots to adhere the sequins to the card face to your liking.

Here is what the final piece will look like!

Thank you for visiting!  I hope that you have found some inspiration for these wonderful dies.

XOXO - Monica (HeartcraftPaper)
