Fall fun

Howdy and hello!  Kristina Hein here to share a little bit of fall inspiration with you all!  Let's get right to my project.

I had SO much fun creating this card.  Not only did I get to use some lovely fall paper, I got to use the awesome Twist Panel Pop-Up dies by Karen Burniston.

I could give you directions on how to make the card base but Karen Burniston has a wonderful video on how to assemble the pieces.  I highly recommend you check it out.

Here is what it looked like after I got all of the base pieces cut out and assembled.

All of the patterned papers that I used are from the Doodlebug Flea Market paper pad.  I cut out several different papers using the accessory dies that are included in the Twist Panel die set.  This set has 15 different dies inside.  Lots of variety!

Here is a better view of the 4 pop-up panels.

The fox and window pieces were cut outs in the paper pad.  The two leaves were cut out using two of large leaf dies from Lawn Fawn Stitched leaves.  I added shading to the orange leaf using Copic markers YR14, 16 & 18.  For the green leaf I added shading with YG17, 23 and 25.  I added Wink of Stella glitter marker over the top.  I tried to catch the shimmer in photos but I couldn't quite get it!

I sponged Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink around the top, brown leaf layer to give it a little extra depth.  The bottom, aqua fox/owl/pumpkin paper I cut the bottom edge using one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside dies.  Right below that I stamped the sentiment "So Thankful" in the Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink.  The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy stamp set.  On either side I placed two of the small stitched leaves that I cut from some leftover, gold embossed paper.

Here are a few more shots of how it looks when you open up the card.

Now that I had all of the super fun stuff done on the inside, it was on to the front of the card.  Can't just leave it sad and empty!

I cut an orange frame using a Lawn Fawn rectangle die.  I cut the brown patterned piece with the next size down in the same rectangle set.  I cut a 1 inch strip from the teal dot paper and glued it across the front.  It's hard to see in the picture but I did cut it out with the rectangle die.  Even though the die wasn't the right size I just moved the paper around to get all of the edge detail.

Next I cut out the Autumn sentiment from orange paper.  This die by Amy Design is absolutely gorgeous!  So much detail in that little die!  I sponged on a little bit of brown ink at the bottom to help bring out some of the embossed detail.  Right next to the sentiment is a little brown squirrel.  He comes from the Yvonne Creations Forest Animals set.  I rubbed a little gold ink across the surface in attempt to make the embossing stand out.  Again, it doesn't show up well in the photo but I promise you it's there!  I did pop the squirrel up with foam tape for a little extra interest.

That's it!
