Birthday Wishes

Hello crafting friends. Lena here today with my very first post at Dies R Us. I'm so excited to have been chosen to join this very talented team.  I hope you will come to visit us often as we have new inspiration posts for you every day. The best way not to miss on any posts is to follow our blog :-)

The card I'm sharing with you today is for a very special lady, who is turning 85 and loves the colour pink.

I started with a white, 6.5" x 5" card base from Recollections.

Next I used a Striplets die by Sue Wilson.  As you can see, this die has two parts to it, which is great because that's the only way I could achieve the look I was going for.

On a piece of white card stock, I used the inner die to make two cuts, side by side, and backed it with a piece of pink card stock.

I then used the outer die to cut out a backing piece of pink card stock and using both dies together, I cut out the white lacy part. I used Mono Liquid glue to adhere the two together.

I placed some foam tape on the back and placed it on the card, right in the middle of the two cutouts.

I made a triple loop bow out of some white tulle ribbon and attached to the centre.

I cut out a Vivienne Butterfly from Memory Box, made it all shiny using a Wink of Stella pen and popped it on top of the bow.  I also added a few pearls for a little pizzaz.

On the inside of my card, I made another cut out with the striplet die, backed it with the same pink card stock, added a few pearls, and stamped the greeting using Versafine Onyx black ink.

Here is a quick recap of the dies I used on this project:

I hope I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.  Be sure to Follow Us on Facebook too.

Till next time,
Crafty hugs,
