Elegant Floral

Hello Dies R Us Friends!  Vickie Y here with an easy, yet elegant floral card.  The saying goes, April Showers bring May Flowers and today I'm sharing a card created with that saying in mind.

My card is 5x5 square top fold.  I selected designer papers, ribbon, adhesive half-pearl, and one of my DIY stick pins from my stash and then proceeded to create using Cheery Lynn dies as noted below.

I then shaped the flowers and leaves using my favorite stylus tool and glue:

After shaping the blooms I inked the edges of the flower and also inked
the center of the doily:

Here is a close up of the shaped and inked die cuts:

It's fun to create an elegant card to give to someone special at anytime of the year, just because!

"Sweet" Baby!

Vicki here....Happy Monday crafty friends!
Today I'm sharing some "Sweet Baby" inspiration with you.  We've added two new baby girls to our family circle in the past six months, have friends expecting to expand their circle and baby cards are in high demand.
"Sweet"

As always, I've added layers to my card using both patterned paper and cardstock.  There are many colors in the patterned paper and I chose to use the gold, green, coral and kraft as accent colors.

The die cuts I've used today are available in the Dies R Us Store.  You'll find a wide variety of die cuts in their extensive inventory.

I love the intricate design in the baby block background.  It has a great pattern that is very versatile and can be used for more than just baby cards!

I cut the "Sweet" sentiment from two different colors of cardstock because I wasn't sure which I would like best.   Well, as it turns out, I used one as matting for the other!

It helped to pull in all the colors in the patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by the DRUS Blog...I hope you are inspired to use die cuts on all your projects.
Visit the Dies R Us Store and browse their awesome inventory of die cuts to add to your stash!

Fairy Garden Collage

Once in a while I like to step outside of my crafty box and create something besides cards that could be gifted to someone special.  I have a friend who loves fairies and she makes the most precious fairy gardens in the summer time.  You can find them hidden under trees, in broken planters and found items throughout her yard.  It's truly magical to walk around and find all these wonderful little scenes!  Birgit here with you today with a project that I hope is truly magical as well!

Let's get started!
I began by creating 4 different colored panels that I blended color onto using Distress Inks and splattering them with water.

Once they were dry, I cut each panel using the Memory Box Grove CollageThicket CollageTimberland Collage and Wildwood Collage and then layered them according to the size of the opening using foam tape to give them dimension between the layers.

I went from largest to smallest opening but these can be layered in either direction or used alone for many amazing looks.

I cut two sets of Poppystamps Mushrooms and Toadstools out of white card stock and colored them using Copics.  I used a white gel pen to add polka dots to some of the mushrooms and then went over the dots with Icicle Stickles.

I cut a Frantic Stamper Fairy & Flower out of black card stock and added some Sea Glass Silk Microfine Glitter to her wings.

I cut two Frantic Stamper Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers to give the mushrooms and fairy a place to rest at the bottom of the collage.

I added lots of scattered sequins to give it a dreamy look.

Here's a close up of all those wonderful layers.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to make one yourself.

Happy 4th of July at Dies R Us

Hello crafting friends and welcome back. Lena here to share a Happy 4th of July card with you.

I began by cutting my card base out of cherry red card stock. This card measures 5.5" x 5.5"

Using the America Frame and the Eagle dies from Amy Designs, I made my cuts out of dark blue card stock. I took the middle cut out piece from the frame die and embossed with a Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then took my ribbon, wrapped it around this cut out and glued the whole thing back into the middle of the die.

Next I took all the pieces that were left on the eagle die and paper pieced them back into my eagle cut. This makes for a more solid image. While getting all the little pieces, I coloured the beak yellow. I used a piece of tape on the back of the eagle to keep all the little cut outs in place.

I cut out two oval mats using the Spellbinders Large Oval dies, stacked them and used them to frame my eagle.

I kept the inside of the card pretty simple. I just stamped the greeting and added a couple of stars.

Now for a quick recap of the dies I used:
