To The Happy Couple

Welcome to the Dies R Us Inspiration blog.  Ann here with a wedding card that I made for a client.
June is the month of weddings, and I've had requests to make several wedding cards.  The Couple die by Tattered Lace is my favorite wedding couple die on the market.

Here's what the card looks like on the inside:

I wanted to leave room on the inside to put the name of the couple, their wedding date, and maybe a few hearts.

For the outside I used the Tattered Lace Couple die which I placed on the ovals from the Sue Wilson Festive Collection - Lattice Snowflake.  This die set comes with some great layering ovals that I use on a lot of my cards.

I also used the Frantic Stamper Saharan Screen Card Panel which I cut down to fit the front sides of the card.

The word "Congratulations" on the inside of the card is from the Sue Wilson Expressions Collection.

To make this gatefold card, I cut a piece of cardstock 11 x 5 1/4", placed it horizontally on a scoring board so the 11" side is across the top, and scored at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4".

Butterflies and Parasols

A very warm 'hello' to you, lovely blogging friends!

Donna, here, with a little Dies R Us Inspiration!

Today's technique is:

"make it simple or doll-it-up"

(using the same featured dies in both simple and elaborate designs)

The featured dies:

The following Dies R Us Products are being used:

Memory Box Calla Oval Wreath 99449
Memory Box Delia Butterfly 98353 (body) (card 2)
Memory Box Lydia Butterfly 99089 (card 2)
Memory Box Sorona Butterfly 99091 (card 2)
Tattered Lace Curved Parasol
Crafters Companion Die'sire Butterfly Dreams (card 2)

I was pleasantly surprised the Calla Oval Wreath and Delicate Flower Frame not only CUT easily, but popped out of the dies! What a breeze!
They may be used separately, or together.

The Delicate Flower Frame (Size A2 U.S.) is shown as a background.
The pink card is simple with 3 dies filling its space. It measures 4" x 6".

The Calla Oval Wreath has been inked and brushed with a little glitter, then popped up,
to showcase the Tattered Lace Curved Parasol.
The Parasol is also popped up:

The second card is larger (6" x 6"), with a few extra frills:

Pop up the Wreath with dimensionals - ink it up if desired - glitter it up, too!
Pretty Pearlized Vellum supports the butterfly:

The butterflies are gorgeous:

Impression Obsessions darling little Spiral Flowers are enchanting!
Believe it or not, these are Mitra's LARGE size,  I cannot imagine how tiny those must be.
Here is a photo with a ruler so you can see how they look once rolled:

Flower Close-up:

I picked up FOUR of Die'Sire's Edge-ables. Wish I had known about them sooner! They are VERY easy to use, and cut with a single pass. They may be used in a number of ways, and are designed to be edges which do not completely cut out the entire image.

And here is a photo of the die, and how it cuts:

Christmas in July

Hi everyone, Deanna here with another project for Dies R Us.  I don't know about you but I have been getting emails about Christmas in July specials the minuet it hit July 1st.  So, I thought I would do a Christmas in July project.  Here is what I have for you today.

I started with a light grey colored card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I then cut a mat out of some glittered card stock from my stash. The mat was cut at 4" X 5 1/4".  Next I cut the patterned glitter card stock at 3 3/4" X 5".

For my ornament I used the Stitched Graham Die for the top layer and the Drop Ornaments Layers for the back layer of the ornament. For the diamond shape mat that my ornament is on I used the Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Squares dies.  To make the ornaments, I die cut the images out of some toner paper that came with my Minc.  For the back layer I applied some green foil and ran the image through my Minc to set the foil.  For the top layer, I applied some gold foil and ran that through my Minc to adhere my foil.  I just love the shine the foil adds to the images.

My sentiment is stamped with some Memento Cottage Ivy ink on some Vellum.  I let the ink dry for a short while then adhered the Vellum to my card by placing small dots of adhesive behind the letters in my sentiment.  There you have it. My completed card.

Just in case you didn't know, or haven't subscribed to the newsletter yet (which you really should do) Dies R Us is having a Pre-Order for the new Holiday release of the Memory Box and Poppystamp Dies.  Dies are expected to arrive  July 7th so hurry over and get your order in so you can be one of the first ones to get these new awesome dies.

Make a Wish

Hello, it's Connie here with you today, sharing a starry night birthday wishes card.

I wish I had a stamp that said Wish upon a Star, I think that would have went better with this, and after I had the card all done I thought I could have done a sentiment on my computer for it, but there is always next time, right :)

My background was done using the Memory Box, Starry night background die.  I cut it out twice, once in the blue and then again using DCWV Foil paper in silver, so that I could inlay them in the stars that pop out.  Next I cut out the Impression Obsessions, City Landscape layer dies there are two dies in the set, one I cut from a gray that had a texture look to it and then the background one I cut from black cardstock.

Here is a close up picture of the background.  I love how it cuts and embosses so you get cut outs of the stars and also embossed stars.

Instead of adding back in all those tiny dots that cut out I added Diamond Stickles in those holes to give it more shimmer.  Lastly I added the sentiment stamp from Gina Marie stamps, Birthday words stamp set.

Here are the dies used in this card (links above in the description)

Up, up and away!

Hello, Janice here with you again to share my latest card
made for the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

I recently made this card for my friend's Dad who was celebrating his 70th birthday.

For my card I have used a 7" x 5" card blank, and embossed a smaller piece of
white card with the Darice Clouds embossing folder. Using my blending brush and my Tumbled Glass distress ink, I lightly coloured the clouds, then Matt and layered it onto the base card.

Next using the Memory Box  - Country Landscape die, I cut a small piece of
green card to create the scene and adhered to the cloud card.

Using the Memory Box - Bright Balloon die, I first the balloon on plain white card, and cut another on patterned paper. I coloured the basket with a Promarker pen, and stuck the paper balloon to the white card. Using 3D foam pads I placed the balloon on the card, and drew in the wires.

Finally, I generated a greeting on my computer, and using the Spellbinders - Ribbon Banners, I die cut the greeting and then cut around the die freehand in blue card to give it a border.

Here are the dies I have used:-

Stationary Card Box

Hello everyone. It is Olivia here and today I decided to spice it up a bit and showcase one of my 3D projects I enjoy doing from time to time.  This is a Stationary Card Box and it is a bit picture heavy.
For the outside of the box I use some the  Dies R Us-Scrolly Corner. The butterfly is a felt embellishment,

The box also is created with compartments that hold cards, tags and other various thing.

This side has a little note pad, pen and a stamp holder pocket.  I used the Die-Mensions -Arrow - Love This die on the inside.

For details on the tutorial I followed, stop by my blog for further details.
