A Sunflower Tag Card

Hello creative, crafty people!  It's Kathleen here on Sunday with you.  I want to share how to use a very versatile Tag Die Set.  It's called: 960 - Tags & More 7 - Vine  By Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This set was designed to make really pretty or cute tags.  In fact I used this very set last Christmas for Gift Tags for my grandchildren:

But for today's project I used this set to make a greeting card.  So let's do it!  There are twelve dies in this set.  A lot of the decorator dies you can use in so many ways on other projects making this set a very good investment:

Step 1:  Score a 8.5 x 11" pc of cardstock at 4.25" on the short side.  Fold over for a book fold that now measures 4.25 x 11".  Next, with removable tape, position the die that is at the very top of the photo above to the top of the base card with the left side taped so that the blade won't cut through the fold side of the card:
The photo below shows the base flipped over so you can see the fold is taped up to the cutting blade but not over it:

Now run this through your die cutting machine and the below will be the result:

Using this pc. from the set, tape it to the top of the front of the base, lining up the tag holes, and run through your die cutting machine with the card open.  You don't want the die to cut through to the back.

Step 2: Using these same two dies from the set:  Using Olive green cardstock cut one plain top and two leafy tops but trim where the die ends.  The below photo shows where these two olive tops will be adhered to the inside of the card:

I love how many decorator dies and choices come with this set.  I chose the sort of loopy scallop die and cut it out of wood look cardstock on both the front and inside.  I also love that you get 3 adorable corner dies.  I used all 3 on this card.  The inside shows I used one corner die above 4 times across the bottom.  Below is the back and front and you'll see the other two:

Step 3:  Using the die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs: 999 - Garden Notes - Sunflower

Cut enough pcs. to make two sunflowers. I cut the leaf pcs. from olive cardstock, the seed pcs.from dk. brown and the petal pcs. from yellow and added orange PanPastel just as Susan does in her video:Sunflower Assembly video  Make two sunflowers and assemble directly onto the card.

Step 4:  Using Elizabeth Craft Designs:1161 - Happy Birthday 2

Cut once with Olive cardstock and once with yellow cardstock.  Adhere the yellow over the olive slightly offset as shown and adhere to the front middle of the card.

Decorating the back is optional, but I felt it needed it.
