Family Road Trip

Good morning Dies R Us Blog Readers!  Alicia here today.  Being in the midst of summer travel season, I was inspired by family road trips of old.  Do you remember a time before seat belts?  I know I do when all us kids would be "loose" in the back reading, coloring or just looking out the window watching the trees go by...

This scene was so fun to create.  I started with inking the background then building the layers of trees and roads both Lawn Fawn dies.  Four dies come with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Tree border dies:  two borders and two tree tops. So I had to cut each border twice, once in green and once in brown.  I then cut the tree trunks off the border.  When layering, I placed the borders, then the tree tops and finally the tree trunks.  Of course I had to cut the two tree tops several times each.

I cut a couple of clouds out of white shimmer paper.  Finally, I perused by stamp collection for just the perfect vehicle to travel in my scene.  I found this old family roadster and the memories started flowing. I placed a small piece of acetate behind the "windows" which is a little hard to see in the picture.
