Eat Beef!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate this season of giving thanks! Birgit here with you today with a  card that goes out to my son who thinks beef is the only way to go for every occasion.  Well, steak to be exact but "Eat Steak" just didn't sound right.  ;0)

I started by cutting the Impression Obsession Patchwork Turkey out using kraft card stock and a little scrap of black and kraft gingham paper.  I added a bit of distress ink to the edges of each kraft piece and very heavily to the feet and wings of the turkey.  I find it easier to color those little tiny pieces by keeping them in the negative spaces they were cut from while I add the distress ink.  I then assembled the turkey.
Next I cut a frame using the Impression Obsession All In One Rectangle Frames and added it over a panel cut from coordinating white card stock.  These frames are the most used frames I own, as there is not a bit of wasted space on this die.  You can create a frame for every need!    A bit of distress ink was also added to the center of the framed panel.

The rest of the card was color blocked by using scrapbooking papers in festive fall prints.  The sign is cut using Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Accessories.  I wrote the sentiment myself using a white gel pen.  I clearly don't have the best writing but it worked in a pinch.

Here's a list of products I used that can be found at Dies R Us.

  3. Such a cute card, Birgit. That turkey says it all. I love the papers you used to tie this all together with such warm colors. I never thought to offset the frame on a card like you did to make it a bigger card. Great idea.
