Flowers and lace...

Happy Wednesday!

Once more, the week is just flying by!  I'm sure you have already checked out the wonderful inspirations from Mikha and Darlene on Monday and Tuesday, so today is my turn once again.  Today's card is made with two elements I always love in a card: flowers and lace.  I don't think you can go too far wrong by having either of these things on a card and with the dies I'm using today, they can be made so easily!  I love the look of wide antique lace, which we all know is expensive to purchase & use on our cards.  Why not give the illusion of wide lace by using one of my favorite dies, the Cheery Lynn Border Carnivale?  You can create the "lace" in any color and it's always available.

I began my card by choosing some bright, cheerful flower paper from Pebbles. I cut 2 of the lace edges with my Cheery Lynn border and placed them under a strip of white cardstock, creating a band on top of my lace.  Next, I cut out a background from Memory Box Cheshire Branch Background in the same green designer paper and then cut out a Memory Box Cheshire Branch Outline from the white cardstock.  The outline covers the entire branch portion of the flower design, but I wanted to show the green patterned background, so I clipped off the branch portions. That way you still have the amazing white outline on your flowers.  Here is a closeup of the flowers.

What an easy way to create a really feminine card that looks like it  is covered in lace & beautiful dimensional flowers!  By changing the background paper, your possibilities are endless!

I'm sure you will want to check out the Dies R Us store for all of the amazing new dies we have gotten in. I'm heading there next too!  And be sure to come back here tomorrow & Friday to see what amazing things Robin & Alicia have in store for you.

And there is still time to check out the Dies R Us Challenge Blog too!  The challenge is still running & you will want to join in on all the fun!  Who knows, you may be the lucky winner of this first challenge, but you can't win if you don't play!!!

Until next Wednesday, have a great week and create something wonderful!

  1. Beautiful Sherri, that lace die is stunning. The first thought I had when I saw your card was that it matched the costumes from the 'Sound of Music' as I watched it on tv the other night for the first time with my daughter!
