Dies R Us - Let Your Dreams Bloom

Hello and welcome!  It's Angie here today with a card made from goodies available in the Dies R Us store.  I started with the Daisies die by Cheapo dies and cut it from the center of a piece of white card stock.  This is the first Cheapo die I purchased at the Dies R Us store.  I wasn't aware of this company but I read up on them and see that they are so inexpensive because they are made in China.  I've heard of some Chinese die companies stealing die designs from US companies and think that is pretty terrible!  But at Cheapo dies, they only sell original dies and not copies of other companies dies.   That was good to hear.  There are lots of Cheapo dies in the Dies R Us store and they have a very low price point.

After cutting it out, I colored it with Zig Clean Color markers, then inserted it back into the die opening.  I taped the back of the piece to hold the die cut piece in.

Next I took a Tutti Designs stitched rectangle die and cut out the die cut panel at an angle and then stamped the sentiment from my stash in brown ink.

Next I added it to a brown panel that I cut a little shorter than a card base and adhered it to a white card base.  Lastly I added clear Nuvo drops in the flower centers and scattered on the card front.  Below is closer picture of the

And here's one last look at my finished card:

I hope you enjoyed my Daisies card today and don't forget all dies I used are available in the Dies R Us store!  Here's my supply list:

Double Heart Frame Card by Melinda

Happy Saturday crafty friends!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today I am sharing my card over on the Dies R’ Us blog! Here is what I came up with.
double heartMy card starts with an A2 card base. It is in horizontal position. I then used some dark brown cardstock for a mat. The patterned paper is from Prima Marketing 6x6 Paper Pad.

Here’s a closer look at the main die cuts. They are some pretty heart frame die cuts made with the Cheapo Dies Heart Frame Die. I started by cutting them out in plain white cardstock. I then colored them with my Bronze Metallic Sharpie Marker. I layered two together so there would be a little thickness to them. I did this because I used some Liquid Glass to fill in the centers. This gave them a glass-like look.  Once they were dry, I used some Ebony Jewel Drops from Nuvo to put some accents in the flowers.

For a little extra bells and whistles, I used a little skeleton key set and hung it from a piece of cardstock. I used a little brad for an extra decorative touch.

Here’s a closer look at my sentiment. It is an old stamp I had in my stash and I stamped it with some Black Ink. In this photo you can also see that I inked the edges of the patterned paper to give the mat a little bit of a distressed look.

Here is one last look at my completed card. I think it will work perfect for an anniversary card or even a friendship card for that special bff in your life!

You Are A Star!

Hello All and welcome back to the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog!
Darlene with you today filling in for DT member Felicita.

Wow!   Can you believe it is AUGUST already??  I need to get busy, Christmas will be here before I know it and I only have 2 Christmas cards made ... yikes ... guess you'll be seeing holiday cards from me next time around!  LOL

But today, I had fun creating with a couple new dies I ordered from our fabulous Dies R Us Store.  Plus, during the month of July the planets in our solar system were the closest and brightest they have been or will be for many years and hubby & I had been keeping a watch each evening.  It's been fascinating!  Being able to see the brightness & red color of Mars even when it was positioned close to an almost full moon was amazing.  So that is what was my inspiration for today's creation.

Lawn Fawn - How You bean? Stars Add-On Stamps

Memory Box 'Beloved Stars' #99056 (Out of Stock)

Once I decided I wanted to use Moon & Stars as my theme, I had to create my night sky and here's how that came about.  First I sponged on my various distress inks onto my card stock going lightest color to darkest using large sponge daubers.  Being sure to leave some 'light' in the center.

After applying the blue colors, I wanted to add that 'night sky' darkness and used the Oxide Black Soot ink and a small finger dauber for that process.  I didn't want to get too much black so used the small dauber vs the larger ones.  After applying the black, I went over the outside edge with the large sponge dauber used for my darkest blue shade (Faded Jeans) to smooth things out.

Next I wanted to add some background stars so mixed up some white paint with water and applied with a painters brush in a 'stippling' motion ... very lightly.  The paint I used has a pearl finish so it has a sheen depending on how you look at the card.

Now it's time to gather all my pieces and start assembly.
I die cut 3 of the larges stars in the Memory Box set and before gluing them together, I snipped the 'bow' from the beloved stars die cut and glued it between star #1 and #2.

Obviously the moon was die cut from a piece of yellow card stock and the extra stars from the die cut were also positioned here and there around the main star.

I've used my Tim Holtz positioning platform for the stamping on the star.  Would have been easier had I thought to do that FIRST before I had my card all assembled but I'm still happy with the end result.

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!

Dreamsicle Salad Recipe Page

Colleen from Scrappin Granny here today to share a recipe page.  This is another recipe that will be going into my grandkids recipe books.  This salad is so yummy that it works great if you are on Weight Watchers as well.

I started with some papers in my scrap pile and inked the orange cardstock edges.  Then just layers the pieces on top of each other.  I used the Classic Butterflies and Flowers doily die by Jeanine's Art along the bottom of the page and added some dew drops for further accents.

Then I used the Vine die by Tutti Designs to add some accent to the top and bottom of the page.

Finally I added some orange ribbon along the bottom.

I adhered the ribbon the dew drops with the Best Glue Ever
