Mother's Day

Hi Everybody! Doni here today with  a clean and simple card celebrating Mother's Day.

I have a lovely patch of Lily Of The Valley growing in my side yard.

This time of year everything outside is turning green and coming back to life,

so that's why I chose green and white for this card.

To make this card I cut a green rectangle 2 inches by 4 1/2 inches and then matted it on a shade lighter green mat. I added three more rectangles under this to build it up for some dimension.

Next, I die cut the flower from white cardstock and placed it on top of the green mat. Can you see how the top little bells hang over the edges?

To finish the card, cut one panel of the Quilted Backdrop from Lawn Fawn and trim off a quarter inch from each side. Then position this on  a solid green card base (A2 Size- 4 1/2 by 5 1/4 inches).

Now, before you pop the rectangle with the flowers onto the card front attach a greeting of your choice onto the front.  I chose to stamp a small happy Mother's Day in Versifine ink onto a strip of vellum and heat emboss it with black fine detail embossing powder.  I liked the look of the vellum and it was easy to just wrap the strip around and attach it on the back with tape.

Put it all together and now you're done!

I think a Happy Birthday greeting would also work well...or perhaps use shades of light grey and white and use the sentiment, with sympathy.
