A Gilding Flakes Birthday Card

Hello, Janice here with you again to share my latest card
made for the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

Today I have made a birthday card using some beautifully coloured gilding flakes
and the Sue Wilson Designs - Striplet/Stacked Diamond.

I started by placing the inner die from the set onto a rectangle of cream hammered
card and ran it through my die cutting machine.
Next I placed the outer die around the stacked diamonds, secured with low tack tape and
embossed it through my die cutting machine.

To give this effect....

Using 'Variegated Red' Gilding Flakes, I covered a smaller panel of card with a piece
of double sided adhesive sheet, covered with gilding flakes and burnished,
to place behind the diamonds.

Using strong double sided tape, I attached this panel behind the diamonds,
and then matt and layered it onto some orange card and gold mirri card.

Lastly, I attached this to the base card, stamped the sentiment and added the nail heads.

Here is the die set I have used:-

  5. Wow! This is incredibly gorgeous! I've still never tried gilding flakes. I'm so behind the times... I love the embossing around the die cut. Makes me think of stained glass. Truly gorgeous!
