Hello Everyone!
WOW! Here we are in September!
I've heard "the older you get the faster it goes' . . .
Well they weren't kidding! LOL
Anyways, Darlene with you today and I have a card to share that was created
with the upcoming holiday season in mind. I love to share
my cards with friends & family so I really need to get busy if
I'm going to have enough when the time comes!
my cards with friends & family so I really need to get busy if
I'm going to have enough when the time comes!
The dies I have used on this creation are:
The Sue Wilson Poinsettia Mini Background comes as a
three die set. I used 2 of the 3 dies ... the outer frame and cut
the center out using gold metallic card stock.
Using
the 'center cut die', I cut a white panel which I then sponged with Tim
Holtz distress inks to create the sky. Next came my cottage scene
which I die cut from white card stock and decorated at the end. Here's a
glimpse of the card before all the final touches were added:
I
chose to use Crystal Stickles to add the sparkle of fresh fallen snow
to the roof & ground then wanted a pop of color so added Red
Stickles to the 'berry' portion of the frame. Could have easily also
added green for the leaves but was afraid of 'overwhelming' this serene
scene.
It
would also be fun to add this frame to 'sticky paper' and burnish the
various areas with red, green & white fine glitter ... how
pretty would that be (I'll have to give that a go next time!). Please remember,
each an every day of the month there's a new inspiration sample shared here
on the blog by this fabulous design team. Please be sure to pop in regularly.
Please don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month
and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize
to the Dies R Us Store. For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
