Christmas Ornament Card

Happy Monday crafting friends.  I hope it's the start of a great week!
Lena here today to share a Christmas card with you.  I would also like to remind you that Dies R Us are having a DT call!   If you enjoy being a part of an awesome team and enjoy crafting using your dies, then this might just be the DT for you, so apply and come join us.

It was very easy to put together.  Just cut all your bits and pieces out of the coloured card stock of your choice and then it's just a matter of putting them all together on the card.  Easy, peasy, right?

The Christmas Ornament die from Marianne Designs comes with the base ornament die and another couple of extra pieces.  These allow you to cut the tress, the stars and the ornament hanging bit out of different colours.

Because I wanted to put my own bow on the ornament, I snipped off the bow that comes as part of the die cut.

Here is a closer look at the bauble with my image which is from a Marianne Designs cutting sheet, but of course you can use any image you want.  You can even use your favourite rubber or clear stamp or even a digital one.  The possibilities with this versatile die are endless.  You can also see that I cut the trees out of green stock and the stars and ornament hanger out of gold card stock.

For my little Christmas twig arrangement, I used Petra's Twigs and Petra's Larix, both also by Marianne Designs. The poinsettia flower was from a gift packet that I received from a bloggie friend. But there are numerous beautiful dies at the DRU store that you can choose from.  I've listed a few later on in this post.

This is a close up of the Label Ornament die cut, from Precious Marieke, that I used on the inside of the card to stamp my greeting.  It's such a beautiful die. If you look closely you can see that it comes with an embossing and stencil feature.  After embossing, you can sponge a bit of ink to create accents on your label.

That was it. Like I said it all came together very easily.  You can cut almost all of your bits and pieces at the same time.  I have a Gemini die cutting machine and managed to put all my dies, with the card stock,  down on the cutting plate at the same time.  Then I removed the dies that did not need to be embossed, placed my embossing mat over the remaining dies and sent it through the machine again.  So  it was all cut and embossed in two passes.

Here is a quick guide to the dies I used, each linked to the Dies R Us store for your convenience.

And here are a few links to beautiful poinsettia dies that you can find at the store:

Before I leave you, I would like to mention that every so often, Dies R Us runs a big sale on international dies. It's during these special sales that you will find dies from companies such as Marianne Designs, Lea'bilities, and Joy Crafts among others. The best way to know about these fabulous sales is to subscribe to the Dies R Us Newsletter.  However, if you want to replicate this card, and you don't want to wait for the next "Special Orders Sale",  take a look at the Dies Section of the store.  You'll be able to find many substitutes that will work just as well :-)

That is it from me for today, crafting friends.   I hope you enjoyed your visit and that I was able to inspire you to use your dies, create a project, and come play along with us at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the 1st and 15th of every month.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Pinterest too.

Geometric Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a fun quick and easy geometric, rainbow birthday card.

I figured with some of us already back to school shopping and some of us still on summer break it would be a good idea to keep this weeks card simple.

Here's the card I created.

Let's get started

I start by gathering my supplies; the dies and scraps of cardstock in rainbow colors, white cardstock for the sentiment and a black cardstock card front panel.

Next, I die cut the squares from the rainbow cardstock. I only used the 3 smaller square dies. I also die cut the sentiment 3 times.

Then, I ran the squares and the sentiments (except the Red and Blue squares) through my Xyron 3" sticker maker. I then rub and removed the protective sheet from the Xyron adhesive sheet.

Next, I placed my squares onto the black cardstock front panel. Keeping the squares to the left side of the front panel. I used some foam adhesive on the red and blue squares for some added dimension.

Then, I stacked the sentiments on top of one another to get some dimension. This was really easy because of the Xyron adhesive.

Next, I  added the sentiment to the card front panel. Then, I added some sequins for a finishing touch. I kept the sequins in rainbow colors.

Now, the card is complete!

Materials Used:
Dovecraft - Dies - Happy Birthday

Memory Box - Dies - Stitched Squares

Xyron 3" Sticker Maker
Recollections Brand Cardstock: Red, White, Black, Yellow,
Orange, Green, Purple, and Blue
Darice Brand Sequins: Birthday Hat, Stars, Round, and Tiny Confetti
Low Profile Foam Adhesive

Jungle Fever

WOW!  August 1st already?  Where is the time going?

Welcome Back Dies R Us Friends!

Darlene here today and I first must apologize for not having a lot of detail photos to share on today's creations.  When these stamp & die sets arrived I got so excited that I jumped right in and started creating, totally forgetting about snapping photos to share along the way!  Oopsy!  Please forgive me!  These things happen when you age and get excited LOL!
My first card to share is this adorable little Lion!

Here I have used the Stampendous Lion Stamp & Die Set.
Stampendous - Stamp/Die Set - Lion

I used Tim Holtz distress inks and a small sponge to create the background colored panel.  To be quite honest, I wasn't sure how this circle die was going to die cut so I actually cut it on a scrap panel of white card stock then when I realized it didn't cut out just the circle, I grabbed a little larger scrap of white card stock, sponged the background colors and popped up my die cut panel using Thermoweb 3D foam squares.

Tucking this adorable little lion in between to create my scene.

For my second card

I've used another adorable Stampendous stamp/die set called 'Giraffe'.

Stampendous - Stamp/Die Set - Giraffe

This time, after die cutting my Giraffe circle panel from black card stock, I used the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Circles to create my focus panel.
Tutti Designs - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles
I've actually die cut my first circle panel from white card stock so I could create the background scene.  I popped up my black circle panel, and popped up this cute giraffe.

Behind my black circle panel, I've turned the white scalloped circle panel just slightly to create the illusion of matting.
