Through a Snowflake Window . . .

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene with you today and I'm so excited to share today's card with you!
I saw a similar creation on blogland and immediately went in search of a die that would work for me.  The snowflake die used on the original card I saw was no longer available but I was SURE I would find something at the Dies R Us Store that would do the job ... and I did!! YAY!~!

The snowflake die I used for today's card is Impression Obsession 'Large Snowflake' #DIE093.  Now keep in mind, I have used the NEGATIVE of this die ... here's a picture of the beautiful snowflakes this one die provides.

Aren't they beautiful!  WOW!
My mind is in a whirl at what I can create with these beauties!
Here's a closer look at the scene I've created behind the snowflake 'window'.  For more details on how I created this card please pop over to my personal blog.

I hope I've inspired you today to look at your dies in a different way.  The positive die cuts are beautiful to see on your creations ... but now maybe you'll look at that negative panel that you ALMOST threw away.  Can you use it in a manner as I have today??  Hey, give it a try ... what do you have to lose?

Please be sure to stop back Monday through Friday for some amazing inspiration from my team mates.  From time to time we can all use inspiration and these ladies are always coming up with something new and exciting to share!

I hope you'll also come join in our challenge fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  A new theme is shared on the 1st and 15th of each month and YOU could be the next winner of a Dies R Us Store gift voucher!!  But, you need to PLAY to WIN!!

Till next time ... wishing you a crafty day!!
(OH!  And I've shared step-by-step instructions for this card on my blog if you'd like to try it for yourself!)

Joy~Hope~Peace

Happy Thursday to you!
Want to make a quick card for Christmas?
You do?
Then this is the die for you!
It is a Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection

Look how pretty it is, and it cuts like a dream!!

All I did was cut it once from a glitter paper and
also from a white craft foam sheet to give it some dimension.
(sorry the glitter isn't showing up well,
I find red card stock as hard to photograph as white)

Adhered the die cut on the foam piece,
then adhered it  on the card front....
added a little red gem and it was done!!

The embossing folder I used
(because I am always asked about this folder)
is Sizzix Hero Art Dot.

Hurry and grab this die before it gone, it is fabulous!!

Visit here Monday - Friday for plenty of inspiration
and see many of the dies in use!

Visit our challenge blog HERE and enter to win...
you will find the details on the blog there...
and you could win a gift certificate to the Dies R Us online store!

Snowmany Thanks!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I know a lot of you are already working on your beautiful Christmas cards.  I am too!  But I am also working on my Christmas thank you notes.  Yup!  From the time I was small, my mother always taught me that a gift of any kind deserved not only a verbal thank you, but a hand written one as well.  A custom I have passed to my daughter and she has passed to her son.  When I saw this darling digi from Sassy Cheryl, I knew he would be perfect for a thank you note!  He was easy to color and I needed only 3 simple dies:  Poppy Stamps Stitched Holly Leaves & Berries, Memory Box Stitched Star Layers & Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Square Stackables.

For those of you who haven't yet entered the DRU challenges, there is still time left to get in on the current one and a new challenge begins on the 15th!  Head on over to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for a chance to win a gift voucher to our fabulous store!

I'll see you again next Wednesday!  Have a fantastic week and don't forget to do something creative!

This card was a quick & easy card but also packs that 'WOW' element.
Since I had a lot of birthday cards to create for this past weekends craft fair, I thought this card would be 'easily mailable' so I made a variety of them in various colors.

Distressed, Stitched, and Faux Cross Stitched

How about some flowers today?  These gorgeous Power Poppy Camellias are about as far from the current season as you can get, but after doing quite a few fall and Christmas cards I get to longing for my flowers.

Camelias_Nov2015DRU

I did some distressing, some machine stitching, and some faux cross stitching.  Guess you know I love to stitch.  The Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders have become a real go-to die set for me.  When I cut the cross stitched layer I centered it on a 4” x 5 1/4” panel.  It left a plain narrow frame which I decided to use on the card with the rest of the layers set into it.  I really wanted to use one of my new Paper Smooches Hello Words, too.  I’ve been feeling I “needed” more word dies and “hello” seemed like a good place to start.

Camelias_Close_Nov2015

The Camellias are one of Power Poppy’s digital stamps.  I printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.  Added a few dots of Stickles glitter around the flowers.  I shadowed the “hello” with pink and applied one coat of Diamond Glaze to the word.  These are the markers I used for coloring:

Wishing you a Beautiful Birthday!

Hello Dies R Us Friends!
Darlene with you again today and it just seems I can't keep enough Birthday cards available in my stash.  So, I created a fun (what I call) Picture Window birthday card to share.

The dies I have used are:
Spellbinder Nestabilities Labels 18

By simply cutting a white panel 1/8" small than my card ... die cutting my opening and popping it up with high profile pop dots I have created my Picture Window where I placed my Birthday sentiment.

I love a white on white creation but by adding a couple red sequins, I think it even more striking.  What do you think?

By using these beautiful dies, this card came together in no time at all.
Give it a try and if you want to CASE this creation, just click on the links above to go directly to their location in the Dies R Us store and place your order.  Unfortunately the SB Labels 18 is a very OLD die set and no longer carried in the store.  But, I have NO DOUBT you will find another die set that will work just as well!
Who knows ... maybe even better!  LOL

Please be sure to join in our challenges at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new theme posted on the 1st and 15th of each month and YOU could be our next lucky winner.

Till next time . . .

The Stockings Were Hung

Hi there!
Doesn't it seem like Christmas is sneaking up on us?
It sure does to me, but one good thing is, I am getting
a head start on my Christmas cards!

Some of the easiest cards to create are with the dies!

I used a pretty Bo Bunny background paper
I stitched onto cream card stock.
Another strip of paper from Crate Paper was added over that.

I cut a gorgeous stocking from Spellbinders Stocking Trio.
Now at the writing of this (which is well in advance...I work ahead)
the stocking was currently out of stock,
however, just type in the name to see if it is back in stock or
type in the search box
the word Stocking or Stockings
to see all the other beautiful stocking dies
that can be purchased.

I cut a second stocking from craft foam to give it dimension.

Under the stocking I added
which I cut in 3 pieces to tuck in where I wanted it.

I finished by adding a bow and a wooden button.

Make sure and visit us here Monday-Friday for more inspiration
and also join us at our Dies R Us Challenge blog for even more
inspiration and for your chance to win a Dies R Us store gift certificate!

"I" will see you next Thursday!!

Thanksgiving Greetings!

Hello, friends!

Not only is it Wednesday again & my turn to post a bit of inspiration, but it is only 3 more Wednesdays until Thanksgiving is here!!  Time seems to be flying by at warp speed these days, doesn't it?  For those of you who send Thanksgiving cards, I found this darling digi image from QKR Stampede that just made me smile.  If I were a turkey, I would probably be looking for my musket too!  Lol !  I used three of my favorite dies on this card:  Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves, Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers & Tonic Studio Acorn Swirl.  Unfortunately, all three of these are currently out of stock, but should be back soon.   If you don't want to wait, you can find replacement dies by just doing a search at the Dies R Us Store.

These Lawn Fawn stitched leaves are some of my favorites because of the beautiful stitching detail.  I have a closeup of the leaves below so you can see for yourself!  Even with patterned paper, the detail is easy to see!

Be sure you head to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  We just started a new challenge on the first and you could be the winner of a gift voucher to the store!  I can't think of anything more fabulous than that!

Hopefully, this post will have given you some ideas of your own!  I'll see you again next Wednesday.  Happy crafting until then!

A colorful Merry Christmas

Hello Dies R Us friends!
Darlene with you today and
I have another holiday card to share that was created
using dies from the Dies R Us Store.

 Okay ... so I confess!
I LOVE the colors created using the Ken Oliver Color Bursts
AND
I just can't help but die cut these colorful panels with gorgeous dies like this one from the Sue Wilson 'Festive Collection'.
Oh My Stars!
What a gorgeous set to create with and they die cut so beautifully!  WOWZA!!
A touch of diamond Stickles was added to the center for a touch of sparkle!
Check out the DETAIL on these die cuts ... just gorgeous isn't it!!

The die set I'm referring to is Sue Wilson 'Snowflake Background' #CED3018.  DARN!  At the time of this post, THIS particular die set is Out of Stock (you gotta grab them fast!!!)
you could create something very similar using this die!

The other dies used on this card creation are
Frantic Stamper 'Merry Christmas' #FRA-DIE-09619 (also OOS but just type in Merry Christmas in the search box at the store to find several other sentiments that you could use)
and Poppystamps 'Classic Ribbons' #POPPY-1005 (used under to sentiment dies).

Like I said ... these holiday dies are FLYIN' OFF THE SHELVES!
So be sure you don't miss out ... place your order today!

Be Joyful!

Well, here we are in a brand new week, a brand new month, edging ever closer to Christmas, and all stampers of Christmas cards have probably made at least a few by now.  I counted mine up the other day and then promptly forgot the total.  Close to 20, I think.  Not too bad.  Here’s one more for the pile:

PeaceDoveNov2015

It was easy and quick with no coloring involved.  I designed it in my head while I was doing housework so once I set about the actual crafting it was a piece of cake.  Dies used are:
The frame was cut with a plain circle die inside the scalloped circle die.  I popped up the frame and glued the glitter paper circle in the center to highlight the dove.  Silver-embossed the sentiment and finished off with one little snowflake in the lower corner.

A new challenge is up on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog: Fall.  There are some beautiful samples by the team as well as by the folks participating.  Always fun to check them out.  Why not try your hand at winning a $10 gift voucher from the Dies R Us store?  Use a die cut and make a fall themed card.  Check the Challenge Blog for details.  See you again soon!
