How about some fairy sparkle!

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2, and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today with another DT inspiration project! I created an adorable CAS fairy birthday card featuring the awesome ScrapMan Fairy Castle die! OMGosh, this couldn't be any cuter - and it's the perfect size to create a card for that special fairy-loving little (or big) girl in your life! ;)

Let's get started!

1. Die cut the Fairy Castle from gold foil cardstock. This will be the star of the show! ;)

2. Cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock along with a gold foil cardstock layer and a pink cardstock layer for the front and the inside. Die cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock for the inside. Cut embellishing strips from gold foil cardstock for the front and inside.

3. Adhere one gold foil cardstock layer and a pink cardstock layer together to form the front panel, and adhere the Fairy Castle die cut to the upper left corner. Add fairy brads and a few iridescent gemstones.

4. Adhere the panel to the front of the card base. Stamp the sentiment in black ink, and add the gold foil strip across the lower portion of the panel. Add three medium iridescent gemstones to complete the front.

5. Adhere the other gold foil cardstock layer and pink cardstock layer together to form the inside panel, and adhere the stitched rectangle die cut and narrow gold foil strip. Stamp the sentiment just beneath the strip and adhere the panel to the inside of the card base. Poof - card complete! ;)

Elegant Sympathy Card Using Scrapman & Spellbinders Dies

Hello! Amanda here and today, I am sharing a sympathy card. The card we all hate to have to send, but unfortunately, we all have to send them at some point in our cardmaking. I never keep any on hand, because, well, I really hate making them. So, I only make them when I need them. This way, I can usually make them to suite the person I am giving them to. This particular card, I don't know the recipient real well. She has dated my cousin for many years and married into the family 2yrs ago, but they have lived on the other side of the country most of that time. Her grandpa, unfortunately, died of Covid recently. So, I just went with simple and elegant.

As usual, I do have a video tutorial prepared for you. I will have more pictures and a supply list below that.

Here are some more finished product pictures.

Creative Expressions - Happy Birthday Edger Die as a Card Front

Hello! It's Amanda from Rise and Procraftinate back with another card. I hope you are all having a great Friday so far. Today, I am showing off the Creative Expressions' Happy Birthday Edger die and I have paired it with the Scrapman Balloons die. The Happy Birthday Edger die is so large and intricate it can be a whole card front in and of itself. However, I thought it would be fun to add a little something else to it. There are really so many different ways to use this die, but I figured that coming out of the Christmas season where so many of us are feeling creatively drained, it would be nice to have a quick, simple card we can throw together for those birthdays that come right after Christmas, but still have a nice card to give.

I have prepared a quick video tutorial for you today. Below that, will be a few more finished product pictures as well as the supply list. I hope you enjoy!

A Mother's Orchid

Hi everyone!  Welcome back and thank you for visiting the blog.  I'm Monica of HeartcraftPaper and today I wanted to share a beautiful floral card that I made for mother's day.  I  know it's a little past Mother's Day but it can also make a feminine birthday card as well.

I was inspired by two dies I recently acquired.   They were so lovely and floral in nature that I decided it would make the perfect Mother's day card.

Sue Wilson - Swirly Vine   Scrap Man - Phalaenopsis Orchid

Supplies:

White Cardstock 5.5" X 4.25"
Apple Green Cardstock
Black Velvet Paper
Dark Green Cardstock
A2 Card Base
Distress Ink - Seedless Preserve
Distress Ink - Squeezed Lemonade
Distress Ink - Mustard Seed
Dark Green Ink
Gold Embossing Powder
Double Sided Tape - 1/8"
Double Sided Foam Tape - 1/4"

While this card is pretty simple to make, it offers so much detail thanks to the dies.  The first Step to this card is cutting out the card background.  Using the  Sue Wilson set, first cut out the square frames from green cardstock.  Next use the center die and the small square die on white cardstock.  you will be left with a detailed square.  Finally using the small detail and the medium detail dies on the 5.5" x 4.25" (A2) white cardstock.

The card background is almost done.  Now it's time to use the largest of Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables to add an edge tot he background.

I felt the piece needed something more to add in decoration, so I decided to add in some gold.  I did this by using double sided tape and heat embossing it with gold embossing powder.

Time to adhere the background to the card base using double sided foam tape.

For this next step you will need Seedless Preserve Distress Ink.  With this ink you can add more or less intensity in saturation of color.  Daub some color across the Phalaenopsis Orchid Die (textured and three petal dies).  Die cut using white cardstock.  You will see that the link will leave it's a beautiful color to the impressions.  Next you will cut out the plain petal die out of white cardstock (no coloring of the die) as well, but you will blend in color the cardstock directly from the outside inwards.

Die cut the stamen of the Orchid out of white cardstock as well.  You will color the whole thing with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.   Using Mustard Seed Distress Ink you will blend in along the upper and lower parts of the stamen.

Die cut two of the stem using a dark green cardstock.  I used a dark green to add some color around the edges and onto the stem itself so that it would look more natural.  Now you are ready to move on once you have all your items colored in.

Curl the all petals and stamen of the orchid using a creasing tool.  This will give your flower some lift and it will look more like the real deal.

Glue together the petals.  The center of the petals does have a small dot cut out that you can use to line up the petals together.  Layer the textured two petals on the smooth two petals.  The three petals will be layered onto the back.

Attach the stamen to the center of it all and then add a drop of Nuvo Drops - Dandlion Yellow to it.

Finally it's time to pull it all together!  Adhere one of the stem to the left side of the card so that it overlaps some of the gold embossing.  Cut out a small fishtail banner using the Elizabeth Craft Design - Stitched Fishtail Banner dies.  Stamp out your sentiment on on the banner (I used Mother's Day)

Adhere the remaining stem to the lower right side of the card and the fishtail banner on top as depicted below.  Using double sided foam tape adhere the small square cut out and adhere it over the banner on the left side so that it is in a diamond layout.   Die cut the "Happy" sentiment using the Pink & Main - Happy die set out of black velvet paper.  Adhere this using liquid glue over the attached decorative square.  Finally adhere the orchid using liquid glue to the stem on the lower right of the card.

The final touch is added by applying Three Pearls of varying sizes to the upper right side of the card. this way it draws the the eye from lower left to upper right.

Here you have the completed card.

Thank you so very much for following along.  I hope that you try out this card and share it with us here at Dies R Us!

XOXO - HeartcraftPaper
