Gingerbread Man Spa

Ahhhh!!! Hot Chocolate...

The other day. I was making hot chocolate and some pumpkin spiced chocolate cookies with my daughter and the inspiration hit me...what if I made a hot chocolate bug using the latest Mug dies from Lawn Fawn.  That's when I came across the Tiny Gingerbread stamps and I think that is what sold me on it.   I had the idea of these little gingerbread people jumping into a cup of hot cocoa and swimming, playing and just having a grand time.

Supplies:

Antique Linen Distress Ink
Silver Glitter Cardstock
Grey Metallic Cardstock
White Cardstock
Black Cardstock
Brown Cardstock
A2 Card base
Liquid Glue
Foam Tape
White Embossing Powder
VersaMark Embossing Ink

__________________________________________________________

A little spa treatment please!

To start off I die cut out my solid and hollow mugs out of solid white cardstock.  I used the metallic gray for the spoon, brown for a solid mug and silver glitter cardstock for the smoke tendrils.  For the brown cutout I also used the Ocean Wave Accents to cut half way down the mug and a small wave cut inside of the mug piece to create a small opening.

Next I worked my background on a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of white cardstock.  I blended together Milled Lavender and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide.  Using Picket Fence Distress Ink, I blended in some stars with the Hocus Pocus stencil.  I also added some star stitching with the Just Stitching Star Dies.  This really added a nice touch.  Once completed I adhered the background down onto my card base.

Now I started to put together my main piece.  using liquid glue I glued down the brown cut out to the white solid cut out.  I left the top of the brown cut out without glue so that I could slide in the spoon behind it  Using foam tape I adhered down the cut, centered on the card.

Using Antique Linen Distress Ink, I added some color to the mug outline on the lower portion.   I then adhered that down to the mug piece.  I stamped out my gingerbread people and colored them in (E31, E35, R39, E93).  Once finished I die cut them out.  Using the sentiment in the same pack, I stamped and embossed it with white powder on a strip of black cardstock, angling the end.  I placed my a gingerbread man under the die cut waves, one on the spoon, one on the handle, two on the sentiment and one jumping in.  I also adhered down the steam tendrils to finish it off.

Here is what the finished product will look like.
