Random Acts of Kindness!

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2 and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a set of RAK artist trading coins featuring the gorgeous Memory Box Love Circle, Pinpoint Heart Circle, Cupid Circle, Peaceful Butterfly Circle and Jumping Bunny Circle. I am an ATC fiend and I love them in all varieties - cards, coins and cubes! I've never made any ATCs with a 'random acts of kindness' theme so I thought that would be different and fun, and these dies were just the ticket!

These were easy and all made the same way, so let's do it up!

1. Using the Memory Box Love CirclePinpoint Heart CircleCupid CirclePeaceful Butterfly Circle and Jumping Bunny Circle, cut the focals for all five of the ATCs from light pink, medium pink, red, light purple and light gray cardstock.

2. Using a 2-1/2" circle punch (the standard size of an artist trading coin), punch the bases from heavy-weight white cardstock and the backgrounds from a variety of colored cardstock and patterned papers. The sky is the limit with regard to colors and embellishments.

3. Adhere the layers for each coin together.

4. Stamp a 'kindness' sentiment on each one in black ink, and boom, you're finished! So fun!

merry Christmas in non-traditional pink!

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2 and I’m stoked to be back on the blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a Christmas card in the non-traditional color of pink featuring the gorgeous Tutti Designs Ornament Circle! I love a pink Christmas card, and when you have the perfect die paired with the perfect pink sparkling paper, you have the perfect Christmas card! ;)

This was an easy one so let's go for it!

1. Cut the Tutti Designs Ornament Circle from pink sparkling paper and set aside.

2. Cut a square top-folding card base and an inside layering panel from white cardstock. Cut front and inside layering panels and an inside embellishing strip from pink cardstock. Cut an inside embellishing strip from the pink sparkling paper.

3. Stamp the front sentiment in white ink in the lower right corner of the pink front layering panel. Stamp the inside sentiment in pink ink on the inside white layering panel.

4. Score diagonal lines every half-inch in both directions on the pink front layering panel and adhere it to the front of the card base. Adhere the pink sparking paper and pink cardstock strips to the inside white panel and layer it on the pink layering panel.

Here's a close-up of the front panel with the scoring. Makes for a great handmade background!

5. Adhere the die cut to the front of the card with spray adhesive. I find that spray adhesive is much easier than trying to dab or apply lines of glue on this kind of die cut.

6. Apply tiny gemstones inside the circle and larger ones in the upper right and lower left corners. Adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card base, and your beautiful non-traditional color Christmas card is complete! ;)

Bright and bold thank you!

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2 and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a clean and simple thank you card featuring the Birch Press Design Petal Triangle Layer Set that I used in a very bright and bold manner with a red, orange and yellow color combo! It's extremely rare that I don't have some white in my cards and this one has absolutely no white whatsoever!

This is a CAS design so let's do it up!

1. Using the Birch Press Design Petal Triangle Layer Set, die cut the layers from yellow, orange and red cardstock, and adhere them together.

2. Cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and an inside embellishing strip from red cardstock, front and inside layering panels as well as an inside embellishing strip from yellow cardstock, and an inside layering panel and embellishing strip from orange cardstock.

3. Adhere the front yellow layering panel to the red cardstock base. Adhere the red, yellow and orange embellishing strips to the yellow inside layering panel, then adhere the panel to the orange cardstock layer.

4. Adhere the Petal Triangle focal to the front of the card and stamp the sentiment at an angle in orange ink. Stamp the inside sentiment on the inside panel.

5. Add some red gemstones to finish the front. Adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card base, and your lovely bold and bright thank you card is complete! ;)

This whimsical guy gives some good birthday advice!

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2 and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun birthday card featuring the Elizabeth Crafts Jungle Leaves Die Set which paired perfectly with the whimsical Chikoo stamp set in my stash! I originally was thinking child birthday (specifically one of our youngest grands) but I know some adults that would love it!

This is a clean and simple design, so let's get started!

1. Cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and front layering panel from white cardstock along with dark green front and inside layering panels, and round the bottom right corner of each. Cut embellishing strips for the inside from medium and dark green cardstock. Finally, using the Elizabeth Crafts Jungle Leaves Die Set, cut some jungle leaves from medium and dark green cardstock.

2. Stamp the image in brown ink on the white front layering panel and color it with alcohol markers.  Stamp his right hand a second time on a piece of scrap white cardstock, color it and fussy cut it, and set it aside. Layer the jungle leaves die cuts together and adhere them to the panel. Using the Crystal Katana Pick-Up & Glue Tool, paper-piece the tiny little hand set aside earlier so it looks like he's holding onto the vine. This tool is amazing for maneuvering small paper-pieced items into place! Mask his left hand, stamp the bananas in brown ink, and color them with alcohol markers. Layer the panel onto the dark green cardstock layer.

3. Stamp the front and inside sentiments in brown ink. Adhere the embellishing strips on the left side of the inside panel, and stamp some bananas in the lower right corner in brown ink and color them to match those on the front. Adhere the panels to the front and inside of the card base, and you're done! Super cute!

Twirly Circle Friendship Card

Hello, crafty Dies R Us fans! Leslie here from Love To Scrap 2 and I’m delighted to be back on the blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a pretty friendship card featuring the absolutely gorgeous paper-pieced Memory Box Twirly Circle die! Paper piecing is very relaxing for me and it sure yields a nice result!

Okay, so let's get started!

1. Using the Memory Box Twirly Circle die, cut the focal element once from dark purple cardstock and discard all the small pieces, keeping just the center circle for embellishing the inside panel and the frame which will be the base of the focal element on the front.

2. Die cut a second twirly circle from light purple patterned paper and a third one from medium purple cardstock, retaining the innermost circle of pieces on the patterned paper one and the outermost circle of pieces on the medium colored cardstock one. The use of washi tape on the back side holds the pieces where they belong.

3. Cut a square top-folding card base from white cardstock along with front and inside layering panels and one narrow embellishing strip for the inside from dark purple cardstock, a front layering panel and inside embellishing strip from yellow gingham patterned paper, and an inside layering panel from white cardstock.

4. Adhere the yellow gingham layering panel to the dark purple layer to create the front panel. Adhere the dark purple twirly circle frame to the front panel, and then place all the small pieces retained from the other two die cuts into the negative spaces on the frame using the Crystal Katana Pick-Up & Glue Tool. This tool is a lifesaver when working with a lot of small pieces and makes the process go much faster! Next, adhere the yellow gingham and narrow dark purple strips to the white cardstock panel and then adhere that panel to the other dark purple layer to create the inside panel.

5. Add the sentiment strip to the front panel, and then add the retained circle from the dark purple die cut and a sentiment to the inside panel.

6. Adhere the panels to the front and inside of the card base, and add a little bit of bling to the front panel for some interest. Now your pretty paper-pieced card is complete! ;)
