Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

It's Nancy, from The Nickel Nook, here with you today!

This week I'm sharing another CAS card,
using some fun dies from the shop!

Here's my card:

It's such a quick and easy card,
a nice flat one that is easy to mail.
I just thought it was a lovely combination of dies.
Who doesn't love to wish on a shooting star?

To make it special, I used Yellow Bazzill Bling cardstock
for the card base, as well as the die-cutting.

Here's a closer look at the glittery shooting star.

It was just a simple matter of cutting and gluing
but I think it makes a very special birthday card!

Happy Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

It's Nancy, from The Nickel Nook, here with you today!

This week I'm sharing a simple but special birthday card!
The dies make it simple, and the choice of paper makes it special!

Here's my card:

I used the Bazzill Basics Bling cardstock for my card.
It is so sparkly and full of glitter.

I started with a white card base, to which I added a green front.
Then I cut a slightly smaller piece of the white bling.

I die-cut both the branch, and the words, from the same green,
and adhered them in place on the white.
Finally, I added some sparkly rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

So simple and yet so special!

Happy Birthday Card!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

It's Nancy, from The Nickel Nook, back with a new project share!

Aren't dies wonderful?
They make it so fun to create a new project,
Each die has such a great variety of creative possibilities!

The featured die set on my card, the Petite Peony Cluster,
is one that I will be playing with often.

Here's my card:

I began with a white A2 card base.
To that I added added the green designer paper.
I cut the brown print down to 4" x 5 1/4".
I then used the Tutti Designs - Nesting Stitched Ovals die to cut an oval from the center.
I cut a second oval from the script paper.
I adhered the brown print to the green background.
Then I adhered the oval in place using foam tape.
It is raised enough that you can get just a hint of the green around the edges.

I then cut two of the frame pieces from the Petite Peony Cluster die,
from some matching green cardstock.
I adhered them in place on either side of the oval,
with half of the cut extending out from the oval.

I then cut six of the single flowers, from the blue print designer paper.
I shaped them, to add dimension, before adhering them in place.
I then added a green rhinestone to the center of each flower.

Finally, I die-cut the Happy Birthday from the Impression Obsession - Greetings Set.
These greetings are such a lovely font, and so intricate.
It's one of my "Must Have" sets!

There you have it...my Happy Birthday card!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!
I'll be back next week with another fun project!

Thanks!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

It's Nancy, from The Nickel Nook, back to share a fun new inspiration project,
using fun dies from Dies R Us!

These days a simple kindness can make such a difference in people's lives.
Why not make some pretty cards to send to those you love.
I've chosen to use "Thanks" on my card,
but the lovely die set I used has other fun options.
You could simply say "Hello"!

There are many that deserve a huge "Thanks" in these difficult days!

Here's my card:

I'm afraid it was a dreary and rainy day when I made my card,
so I don't have any process photos to share with you.

I cut an A2 tent-fold card base from white cardstock.
I added a front panel of 4 x 5 1/4, from decorative paper.
I wrapped it with pretty sheer riboon before adhering it to the card base.
Then I added a pretty ribbon bow.

I die-cut the "Spring Has Sprung" die from white cardstock - twice.
I adhered the first one in place on the card front.
From the second cut, I fussy cut two of the large butterflies.
I then adhered just the body of the fussy cut butterfly, onto the two top base butterflies.
When the glue was dry, I folded up the wings.
I then cut the "Thanks" from the decorative paper,
and adhered it to the center of the base die.
Finally, I added mini clear rhinestones around the doily edge of the die-cut.

In this photo, you can see the dimension on the two butterflies,
and all the pretty sparkle from the rhinestones and ribbon.

I hope I've given you some fun ideas!
I'll be back soon with more!

Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday, friends!

It's Nancy, from The Nickel Nook, back to share a fun new inspiration project,
using fun dies from Dies R Us!

Today I'm sharing a new card,
just to let you know I'm Thinking of YOU!

Here is what I needed to make it:

Here's how I did it:

I began with the gorgeous Rose Frame die from Tutti Designs.
Using the die on a gorgeous piece of Rinea Lavendar/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper,
I ran it through my die-cutting machine.
The die is so intricute!
It does a fabulous job on the foiled paper.

Then I took the "Thinking of You" from the Impression Obsession die set.
I die-cut that from the left-over center piece, of the Rose Frame cut.

Isn't it a beautiful font?

I mounted a piece of black cardstock onto the white cardstock card base.
Then I adhered the Rose Frame in place.
Finally, I adhered the words in place, and added a pretty ribbon bow.

All you need is some shiny foiled paper and some fabulous dies!

I hope you enjoy my fun project!
I'll be back soon with more!

Fun Masculine Birthday Card

Tracy here today with a masculine birthday card. I don't know about you but I find it hard to come up with masculine cards. So here's a quick and easy one using a fun die that I just love from Memory Box. I'll post the link below.

I started with a navy blue base and a piece of white cardstock. I then rounded all the edges and got out my Distress Oxides and went to work on the white piece applying the inks from darkest to lightest. Then just sprinkled some water on the ink. The circle die was cut from a piece of ombre paper and the sentiment was cut from a piece of black glitter paper. I put it all together using some ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with the small no-clog writing tip.

Here are the links for the products I used
