Hopping to see you soon

Hello Dies R Us readers, I was so excited to get a new die set with movement that I began working with it immediately.  I recently received the Karen Burniston Triple Flip die set.  I have all sorts of ideas swimming in my head but I started with my other new dies from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs collection.  There were so many frogs from which to choose, it was easy to fill all the panels on the triple flip.

I found it super easy to assemble with the help of  Karen Burniston's Triple Flip Assembly video.  One of the tips I took from the video was to use foam tape to back the flip panel.  This allowed for plenty of room for the flip to happen behind the scene.  I also cut and inlaid the arrow from a scrap piece of the patterned paper. Another option is to add washy tape between the layers instead of leaving an empty arrow.

I used the same scalloped frame in each panel but the set has a few different combinations from which to create.  The smaller frogs are from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs - Frog Frame die set.

I used the Karen Burniston Party Border Blends to add interest across the top.  I also sprinkled some jewels in the border.

I stamped a one of kind sentiment with an alpha stamp set.  This card is already in the mail to my nephew whom we plan to visit later this month.  Adults are impressed with kinetic cards but I have a feeling my nephew will play with this card.  Good thing it is designed with reinforcements in all the mechanical areas.  I think it will last through hundreds of flips.

I stamped the water across the bottom using the Amy Design Friendly Frogs-Clear Stamps.

Winter Wonderland

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman back today wishing you a beautiful day.  With the cold days of winter coming up, thought this die would make an amazing card.  It's a full sized background die card and creates a wonderful card.

Using white cardstock, I die cut the Amy Design Vintage Winter Village Frame Straight die for the card front.

Wanting a dramatic background, I adhered this die cut panel to a purple/black panel then added it to another white panel.  Finally, it was added to a black card.

Next, I added Ranger Liquid Pearls to the lights and windows and Nuvo Drops to add dimension to the snowflakes.

I stamped the phrase on white cardstock and die cut  it  using Tutti Designs Oval Nesting Dies.

For dimension, the phrase to the card with foam adhesives.

Happy New Year Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a quick and easy New Year's card.

Can you believe it's almost here!
A new year filled with new experiences, memories,
birthdays, anniversaries, and so much more!

This card is so quick to create you can still make them and get them out to all the family and friends!

I gathered all the supplies. The die, Rinea Foil paper for some shine and some Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend called Celebrate along with some cardstock.

I die cut all the pieces from the foil paper. I die cut the leaves in Rinea Foil paper Starstruck Ebony and Starstruck Silver. The champaign bottle I cut from Rinea Foil paper Starstruck Ebony and I cut and an extra one from Rinea Foil paper Glossy Gold for the inlays of the labels. I then cut the glasses from Rinea Foil paper Starstruck Silver. I also die cut the label banner from Rinea Foil paper Starstruck Silver. Finally, I die cut the sentiment from Rinea Foil paper Starstruck Ebony.

I start by assembling the champaign bottle. I put some low profile foam adhesive on the back of the bottle and then turn it over to place the small label piece into place.

Next, I adhered the leaves to the bottom of my white card front panel. Starting with the black leaves first then the silver. Then, I adhered to the bottle and the glasses just above the leaves.

Then, I adhered the sentiment onto the banner and added some low profile foam adhesive to the back of the banner and place it on the card panel making sure to center it.

Next, I added some sequins to the card front panel. I created a small cluster at the center between the leaves and two other clusters on the sides of the bottle and glasses. I finished with a final cluster by the sentiment.

Then, I adhered the card front panel onto the card base and the card is complete!

Thinking of You

Hello Dies R Us friends. Lena here today sharing a Thinking of You card that I'm going to send to a very dear friend who is going through the necessary medical tests to undergo a stem cell transplant.

It was easy and fun to create this very serene scene. I used various dies from a few different companies. I have listed them all below, with links to the Dies R Us store, for your convenience.

I love the Water Lily pop up on the inside on this peaceful pond.
Other than plain die cutting, the only thing that took a little bit of time was making the frame so it could be a different colour. However, if you have an electronic cutting machine it's really easy to do.  If you don't have an electronic cutting machine, you can always trace it and cut it by hand.

So to use the Silhouette I first traced my die onto a piece of white card stock.  Next I scanned it and saved it as a jpeg pic.  Then I uploaded it to the silhouette and cut.  Easy peasy and now I have a saved file that I can use in future.

It's important to make a small mark on your die and card stock cut piece so you know which side is up.  There is always a small difference in the width and length of the die.  By knowing which side is up, you'll be able to set in place correctly.

I cut out all my bits and pieces and coloured them using copic markers and a variety of Memento inks to create the scene I wanted.

Lastly, it was time to finish off the inside.  I began by cutting and adhering the Water Lily and went from there.  This card took a little longer to put together than my usual, but it was fun and relaxing putting the image in my head onto the card. 😀

As promised, here is the list of the materials I used:

FineLine Bottle Applicator

As you can see from the above list, I used a few dies from Marianne Designs and one from Joy Crafts.  Dies R Us often have special order sales and it's during these sales that you'll be able to purchase overseas dies at a very reasonable price.  The best way to know about these special order sales is to subscribe to the store's newsletter.  You'll find the sign up form on the home page of the store.  All you have to do is enter your email address and you're all set to receiving all the specials that the store runs frequently on overseas dies and local ones too.
