Pet Talk

 Hi Friends of Dies R Us! Yes, another multiple card post - just a 2fer this time! I used some older Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, but the NEW RELEASE is now available at Dies R Us, just go to the website and choose NEW ARRIVALS {you'll find more than just Lawn Fawn - I have my eye on some of the great Visible Image sets}!!   Enjoy!

What I Used to Make my Cards:
White Card Base
Pink Card
Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Backdrop, #LF1989
Lawn Fawn Critter Chatter Stamps, #LF1964
Lawn Fawn Critters at the Dog Park, Stamps #LF515, Dies #LF520
Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin'? Stamps #LF1315, Dies #LF1316
Watercolor Paper {I use this}
Zig Clean Color Brush Markers
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad in Obsidian Ink
Dimensional Dots
Pink Ink

I started these cards by cutting the backdrop out of white card and pink card, twice each.  Then I began to stamp the different dog and cat sounds on various white speech bubbles from the backdrop cut out which I then attached to my white card bases. I placed the stamped speech bubbles onto different spaces left by the die cut and filled in a few of the more empty spaces with the pink speech bubbles, leaving some of the spots empty.  The cat and the dog I used on the cards were previously colored and cut so I just added the dimensional dots to them and attached them onto the cards.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiments on white card, trimmed them and dotted them onto the card fronts.  I also stamped the small heart in pink ink and the paw print in black ink onto 2 of the smaller panels.  I like the look of the different levels created by the dots and the speech bubbles.  They are a different type of "I love you" card but every bit as important as the cards someone might get from humans; and a such nice way to say that your pets care about their pet parent {or aunt, grandparent, etc.} as much as you do!

Thank you for stopping by to look at my work. I hope you and yours are doing well and are staying safe! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and see you here, at Dies R Us very soon!!  Fondly, Christi

Altenew Spring Shower Cover Die Cards {A threefer!}

Hi friends! I hope this post finds you well! Since I have three cards to show you why don't you grab a drink and hurry back! I got seriously carried away with the Altenew Spring Shower Cover Die while making cards for the Dies R Us inspiration page; I guess I was inspired!  I hope these cards inspire you a bit as well.  Here we go:

What I Used to Make my Cards
White Card Bases
Altenew Spring Shower Cover Die
Pink, light yellow, light blue, light purple, light green and white layering card {thinner card}
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
Dimensional Dots

I began my cards only planning on making one but as I cut out all the different colors I wanted to use I realized the negatives were too pretty to throw away so one card became three.  As I mentioned, I cut the die a total of six times using the colors listed above, in a thinner card than I would typically use.  I began working on the "hello" card first as that was the primary card I had in my mind. I kept some of the white cut outs in the panel I was going to use as the top of my card and filled in other places with the colorful die cuts I'd made.  I also layered some of the die cuts to make different flowers. That's where I got into trouble! I made so many flowers with the leftovers there was no way I could throw them out!  I even used dimensional dots on some of the flowers on the two other cards I made.

I did use a different sentiment for each card as you can see; the "hello" I used is from Hero Arts Stamp & Cut set, #DC151.  The second card, "hello summer" uses a die from Impression Obsession, Hello Summer, #DIE688-B and finally the "miss you" card uses another Altenew die {Dies R Us doesn't have the Hero Arts set or the Altenew word die at the moment, but there are plenty other words dies in stock to choose from}.  I also used a circle of blue paper that I had on my desk for the hello summer card to help me make the wreath.

Here are pictures of each card:

"Hello" card

"Hello Summer" Card

"Miss You" Card

I hope my cards inspire you to get some die cuts and start creating! If you don't have the dies you want, or need, to make your vision come to life please take a look at what is available to play with at Dies R Us! Thanks SO much and see you soon! Christi

May Your Coffee be Strong!

 Hello Friends,

Diane here to hopefully inspire you with my card today.  I have a fun and quick card make for you.  As you can tell from the title, this is a coffee themed card for all those coffee lovers out there.  I am using a hexagon die as my focal for the design of my card.  I hope you enjoy what I created.

I used the Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Hexagons available at Die R Us for the main focal of my card design.  The item number for this die set is TUTTI-616. This die also comes in a cross-stitched pattern.  This card measures 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 (standard A2 size)  I used the next to the smallest hexagon and cut them out using three different patterns from the "Daily Grind" 6x6 paper collection by Catherine Pooler.  This is a beautiful coffee themed paper pad bursting with lots of color. I cut a piece of the brown coffee bean paper measuring 4 1/4 x 2 and adhered it to my card.

Next I took a couple of gold peal off stickers from "Love From Lizi" and added them to the top and bottom of the brown coffee bean paper.

Next I glued my hexagon pieces to the front of the card.  Then I placed the card into my stamp positioner and stamped my sentiments in black ink. These sentiments are from the new Catherine Pooler coffee stamp set.  I love the fun sentiments in this stamp set.

This is a super cute easy card to make and I hope that you would give the hexagon dies a try.

Here's another look at the supplies I used for this card.

 Hello Friends,

Diane here with you today to provide some fun inspiration.  I have a darling little die set to share with you today.  I made a pretty little picture frame wall card using the Graphic 45 Elegance paper collection and the Lawn Fawn Mini Picture Frame die available at Dies R Us.

You get 4 little picture frames in the die set and they come with different type of hangers.
So super cute.

Floral Thank you

 Hello Friends,

Diane here with Pretty Fun Stuff to share with you my Dies R Us Spring card inspiration.  Today I have a pretty little lilac, pink and white A2 sized Thank you card.

This card was really simple to create with the Tutti Designs Multi Floral Background die available at Dies R Us.  The item number is Tutti-640.

Simple Card Instructions:
I cut a piece of pink card stock at 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored it in the middle at 4 1/4.  This makes an A2 sized card.  Then I cut a piece of purple glitter cardstock at 4 X 5 1/4.  Then using the floral background die by Tutti Designs, cut it out of 110 lb  white card stock. Next cut out any die cut butterfly and either stamp your sentiment or in this case die cut your sentiment using any type of sentiment die.  Then glue it all on your card front base.  Place your purple glitter layer first, then your floral background die cut, next place your butterfly on the card and then your sentiment.  Your done.  Simple, easy and fun card to make.

Here is another simple card using this lovely die.  This time I cut it out of black card stock and used a multi-colored background paper for added color and interest.  I cut a blue silhouette butterfly and a Thank you die for my sentiment.

Products used from Dies R Us:

There's lots of butterfly dies to choose from...here is a good one.

Sue Wilson has some great sentiment dies available at Die R Us:  Follow the link for some great examples:  https://www.diesrus.com/search?q=Sue+Wilson+mini+sentiments
If you have them, I would encourage you to use butterfly dies and sentiment dies you already have in your stash.  But these are some excellent options for you.

Here's another look at both cards I created for you.  I hope you enjoyed this time we spent together today.  Thanks for stopping by the Die R Us blog today. Hugs, Diane

Four in one cards

Hello, my crafty friends!  It is the new year and the Christmas decorations have been taken down and the Christmas card list has been updated for next year.  Now it is time to get down to some serious crafting. I'm Barbara, we have been lucky to spend the winters in a warmer climate, Florida. That means I need a second craft room.  I bring with me a lot of stuff that I need and have a lot here too.  What I didn't bring, is my stash of cards that I like to have on hand to mail out to friends and family.

I set out to make one style card that I can put different sentiments on, to full fill that stash. If you are interested, here is my card.

I cut a bunch of daisies in white card stock with the die from Penny Black called Bashful.

Then I colored them while still in the card stock. It makes it easier to do and is very fast.

Next, I cut several of these Antique Frames by Penny Black in colors that would coordinate with the cards that I am making.
Add a little ink around the edges to add dimension to the card.

All of these cards were made pieces that were cut before, now I just adhered the daisy to the front and added a different sentiment to each one.  The sentiments are from the stamp set by Gina K designs called Fabulous Frames.
Now I have a few cards ready to send out as needed. Makes me feel happy.
You can find the dies that I used on these cards in the Dies R Us store.

currently out of stock, but you could use any rectangle frame.

The Penny Black Bashful die is no longer available.  I think that this one would look great too.

Serene Winter Scene

For those celebrating Christmas, tonight is the BIG night.  You only have about 6 hours until the children wake up & you had better have put everything together! My parents used to hold a HUGE open house on Christmas Eve - upwards of 200 people in, out, and around the house.  I woke up many a Christmas Day with strange people sleeping on the living room couch - it might sound weird but it was fun.  My family always collected strays - be it people or animals.  My mother tells of the time I woke up at 6 am to get my gifts and she had literally laid her head down 15 minutes prior - hehehehehehe! OK, enough nostalgia.  But that is what this card brings out in me.  A feeling of times before the insanity of social media, when you knew you'd be cared for, no matter what and that our country was truly a force with which all others had to reckon.  So, on to my card:

What I Used to Make This Card:
White Card Base
Stitched Circle Tress, Memory Box, #99843 {or, Stitched Circle Cabin}
Stitched Village, Memory Box, #99891 {or Stitched CabinStitched Tree}
Nesting Circle, Darice, #2014-74 {Tutti has plenty of Nesting Circles}
"Cloudy" Vellum
White Glitter Card
Pale Blue Card

The card is very easy to make, not so easy to photograph, but carry on.  The first thing I did was cut the Stitched Circle Tree out of white glitter card.  I then cut it out again using the Nested circles, so I had an actual circle instead of just a die cut on paper.  After putting the cut on my card blank, I really felt it needed just a smidge more something.  I think the cloudy vellum adds a softness to the card; of course, you can use anything you choose - I just didn't want the background to compete in any way with the trees.  The vellum was cut with the same circle I used to cut the stitched die out of the glitter white card.

If you click this pic, you can see the
dimension and the sparkle
I attached the vellum to the cut and,  while it certainly looked serene {the look I was going for - after all, it is Christmas Eve!},  I still felt it was too blah.  I love white on white cards and I just don't seem to able to mix whites effectively.  My cards never look like their cards do! Ah, maybe someday - I'll keep at it! Back to my card.  To add just a weeny little something, I cut out the three houses from the Stitched Village die; first I used white card, too dull, then Kraft card, too obvious, then this very pale blue I found.  Perfect! The little house nestled perfectly where I wanted it.  I truly adore this little CAS card, I hope you like it as well.

Elegant Love

Hey all, it's Christi here today with a romantic, any occasion card.  Honestly, at my age most of my friends and family are already married, but I still get the desire to make some sweet wedding type cards. I've been obsessed with doilies and all things romantic lately and this is certainly reflected in my card.

What I Used to Make my Card:
White Card Base, 5 1/2" X 5 1/2", Handmade Gate Fold Style
Vanilla Card
Shimmery Textured Off White Card
Gold Card, Heavy
Cheery Lynn Designs, Border Dies, Heart Chain Border, #B115
Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson, Jewelled Heart, #CED21005
White Pearls, 5 cm, by The Paper Studio, #549543

As I said, I have had this card idea rolling around in my head for a while now.  I splurged on a bunch of goodies from the Dies R Us store and the dies used here are part of that haul.  I made my own gate fold card (for the very first time!) out of sturdy white card and then cut the main heart die out of vanilla card.

There are 7 dies in the Jewelled Heart set, so I used another of the dies to cut out a textured, shimmery, off white heart and placed that in the center heart of the main die cut.  I then cut the love die out of subtle gold.  I glued the sentiment onto the textured heart and set the main die cut aside.

I cut two of the heart chain border out of the same gold card and attached them to the sides of the card.  Since the card was already folded, I came up with an idea on how to keep the "doors" closed and stable while I attached the chains.  Using 2 small bulldog clips (with waxed paper between the clip and the card - I've ruined SO many cards by not taking that type of precaution!) I clipped the doors closed.  That trick helped make attaching the heart chain super easy!

One of the things that drew me to this die was all the detail and little extras; I added some of my own little extras by attaching some white pearls strategically around the design (the little stitches just make this design look that much more special)!

Finally I attached the main heart die cut to just one side of the card; so the card opens up with a gate fold.
Another Look
Thank you for taking the time to join me on this little journey! I hope that those who are in the hurricane zone are all safe & sound and that YOU have a great week! Christi
