Cheery For You Greeting Card in Purple

Greetings die cut fans, Chris here from Psychotic Ramblings of a Serial Scrapper and today I am excited to share my first creation for Dies R Us .  The cheery card features Sizzix's Geo Trio.   As I am always looking at new way to use my dies, I decided to try cutting my die in a "repeating" fashion to create multiple windows!

I was in a "purple' mood and chose purple shades for my 5 x 7 card, but you can easily adapt the card to any color or size. So lets get started.

Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 4 3/4 x 6 1/2. Die cut along one edge leaving a small border.   Re-position die leaving about the width on one hexagon and re-die cut as shown. below.

Re-position die and die cut to create the third window.
Move and die cut again to create the 4th window.
The resulting die cut is so pretty and lacy!
.
Grab your card stock in 2 coordinating colors.  Choose one piece to mat your die cut piece.  Cut mat to 6 3/4 x 4 7/8.  From your second cardstock, cut two pieces that are 4 3/4 x 1 1/2
Using your ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with the No Clog Writing Tip, add a few dots of adhesive on the back side of your die cut piece and adhere strips of card stock as shown.

Matt die cut onto your cardstock.

Finish your card by adhering to a 5 x 7 card base and adding a jeweled flower sprig and a sticker sentiment.   I hope you enjoyed this project! ~Chris

Ugly Sweaters are Coming!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Kathy here to say while I'm not trying to rush through the upcoming holidays, but I'm kinda excited that it'll be Ugly Sweater Season soon!  Actually, I'm just looking forward to being able to wear sweaters. Period  It's been unbearably hot and humid here :)

Elizabeth Craft Designs has a wonderful Winter Sweater die set that is perfect for ugly sweaters, but also great for any holiday sweater card or gift tag!

I chose to use the sweater die to cut designs from Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus paper pad.  The patterns are so bright and festive!

I love this Sizzix Tim Holtz Holiday Words set...it contains 17 holiday words and are perfect for any of the projects I make during the season.

Are you looking forward to Ugly Sweater season?!  Even if you prefer something more 'subtle', I know you'll have lots of creative fun with these awesome products!

Celebrate!

August is a month of celebrations!  Oh, and not to mention my birthday is in August :)  This darling Pink & Main Box Card die is perfect for any celebration or occasion!  Here's how I created my celebration box...
1)  Cut two sides, fold on the scores and adhere together at the tabs.

2) Cut the inside tab, fold on the scores and adhere to the inside of the box lengthwise.

3)  Cut pattern paper (I used Pink & Main Be Brave Paper Pad) for the front, sides and inside flaps.

4)  Cut out the other elements to be placed on the inside of the box using cardstock and assorted pattern paper.

The great thing about this fun surprise box is that it folds down and will fit perfectly in an invitation envelope!

Puppy Love

It's not often I make cards for kids...we only have a few little ones in the family, but I couldn't resist this little puppy die which I felt was perfect for a child :)

For my card, I started by layering a few patterns from Doodlebug Designs Puppy Love paper pad - so cute with great patterns and fabulous bright colors.

I then used Frantic Stampers Rover Puppy Love dies to cut one of the patterns in the paper pad and layered little rover on a dotted circle die cut from Tutti Designs.  Then, I cut the words in this die set from black cardstock.  Super easy card!

Country Summer

Summer is one of my favorite seasons! We've had a lot of rain storms this summer which the flowers and plants have loved -- everything has grown bigger than I've seen at this time of year!

For my card, I used the following products:

To start, I stamped and die cut the Lawn Fawn - How You Bean  jar.  Using the Lawn Fawn - How You Bean dies, I cut a light blue cardstock and made a wavy trim to the top.  I cut a slit in the top and bottom of the rim of the jar to slip in the die cut stems from Impression Obsession - Strawberry Set.

Using the Impression Obsession - Strawberry Set, I cut the strawberries, stems, leaves and flowers.  The darling berry carton is from Impression Obsession - Tomato Carton.
